From RT News

A Monday morning raid on the Occupy Oakland encampment led to the evacuation of thousands of protesters.

A Monday morning raid on the Occupy Oakland encampment led to the evacuation of thousands of protesters.

Nearly 60 days after the Occupy Wall Street movement began, cops across the country cracked down on encampments in Oakland, Albany and cities in-between over the weekend, in a series of events perhaps the most detrimental to the movement so far.

After weeks of standoffs between protesters and police, law enforcement in Oakland, California moved in on the Bay Area city’s Occupy demonstration early this morning and successfully dismantled the encampment. Clad in riot gear and obscuring their badges to avoid identification, hundreds of cops in arrays of three-deep encircled the main camp at Frank Ogawa Plaza this morning and warned protesters to pack up and leave, lest they wished to risk arrest. By 6:30 a.m. local time, the Oakland Tribune reported that around 20 demonstrators had been arrested, more than a dozen of whom had been detained while participating in a prayer group.

According to reports from the scene, the group was leading a sing-along of “We Shall Overcome” as riot cops came in and issued arrests.

“That’s all folks,” RT’s Lucy Kafanov reported shortly after from the scene. After clearing the encampment of occupiers, police deemed the park a crime scene and evicted not just protesters but reporters as well, painting only a vague picture of what was left of what had become one of the most monumental hubs of the Occupy movement so far.

Despite the early morning crackdown coming as a surprise, Monday’s incident for this most part was the least violent of the ongoing confrontations between Occupy Oakland protesters and the local PD. In the weeks since their encampment began, several demonstrators were seriously injured by the police while peacefully protesting. Only this weekend, Iraq War veteran Scott Olsen was released from an Oakland hospital where he had been undergoing surgeries for injuries incurred by a police projectile during a raid by the police weeks earlier. Olsen was originally admitted in critical condition with a fractured skull and was the first of two war vets to suffer injuries while protesting in Oakland.

While this morning’s raid in Oakland was perhaps the most peaceful the city has experienced so far, elsewhere reports from coast-to-coast suggest that police response to other Occupy protests were marred with overzealous attacks and brutality.

In Chapel Hill, North Carolina on Sunday, more than two dozen officers clad in riot gear and holding assault rifles stormed into an abandoned Chrysler building that had been vacant for over a decade. Inside they found eight protesters who had been claiming “squatters’ rights” over the property. Though they were peaceful, officers stormed the building and issued arrests with weapons drawn.

At least one journalist in the small North Carolina city was forced to lie on the ground and be cuffed by police for reporting from the scene.

Later that evening, 13 were arrested at the Occupy Albany encampment in New York for failing to vacate from Lafayette Park across from the state’s Capitol building. Officials had charged them with trespassing after failing to comply with a city curfew. Those arrests came only a day after state police arrested another two dozen on similar charges.

“It’s a tragedy that people in the state of New York cannot exercise their First Amendment rights in a public park,” attorney Robert Magee tells Albany’s NEWS10 of the crack-down.

In Salt Lake City, Utah on Saturday, another 19 protesters were subjected to either arrests or citations from police for occupying the city’s Pioneer Park.

“There was a large police presence down here.It was a little intense,” protester Michael Wilson told a local ABC News affiliate. “I think that was part of their strategy to shock and awe. But we weren’t intimidated.”

Police had brought in bulldozers to level the encampment and destroy the makeshift homes and belongings that protesters were forced to abandon following Saturday’s raid. A day later, however, protesters had regrouped and were planning to continue their occupation.

Likewise, protesters in Oakland are already planning their next move following this morning’s raid. Both the Oakland Police Department and the Occupiers themselves are planning separate conferences today to discuss the weekend’s events and the course of action from here on out.

In Burlington, Vermont, where an unexpected suicide on the Occupy encampment shut down the protest on Friday, demonstrators complied with police action but said that they were not done making their point.

“This movement is still young,” Jaime Jackson, 20, told the Burlington Free Press, “and we’re not going away.”

In other cities across the country, however, executive orders from mayors and police are causing the crack-downs to increase in numbers on an almost hourly basis.

In Portland, Oregon, Mayor Sam Adams ordered the Occupy Portland camp to be shut down Saturday at midnight, citing dangerous health conditions as a reason to vacate a city park. As protesters resisted, however, more than 50 were arrested as police raided the camp, swinging nightsticks and attacking demonstrators early Sunday morning. The Associated Press reports that the crowd in Portland had accumulated to the thousands as police tried to disperse the protests in the early morning hours. At one point the cops retreated, only to return later and swarm in — violently.

“We were talking about what we were going to do and then they just started hitting people. Seems like a waste of resources to me,” protester Mike Swain, 27, says to the AP.

At least one protester was hospitalized in Portland during the raid. Mayor Adams says that it is his job to keep the park clean and will do it at all costs.

“This is not a game,” said the mayor.

In San Francisco, California, officials there cited health concerns as well as a reason to force occupiers to vacate an encampment on Market Street and another in front of the Federal Reserve building on Saturday.

“Never,” Debra Lujan, 34, tells the San Francisco Examiner, adding that the demonstrators will not abandon their Market Street protest. “We occupy, that’s what we do.”

Additionally, at least 20 were arrested in Denver, Colorado over the weekend at the city’s own Occupy camp, several charges being waged for a city ordinance that prohibits people from placing “any encumbrance on the public right of way,”in lay terms equating that any street, alley, sidewalk, parkway or other public space must be kept free of any private property. Some protesters say that they were in the process of vacating the park, loading up trucks and vans with tents and other belongings when a police raid forced them to abandon the clean-up on Sunday and leave their items behind.

Following the raid by the Denver Police Department, the local Occupy chapter issued a statement calling the force the most violent one in the United States.

“Officers assaulted demonstrators who were just standing on the sidelines. An officer waited until a protester turned around and hit him in the back three times. They assaulted people verbally, including threats to ‘break the teeth’ of protesters. One officer told another officer to ‘SHOOT EM!! SHOOT EM NOW!’” reads a statement from Occupy Denver. According to the press release, one protester was struck by an officer on a motorcycle and transported to a hospital. Others were kettled and shot with pepper-balls.

“All of this dangerous mayhem, completely instigated by police under the orders of our mayor, was directed at peaceful protesters,” continues the statement.

“These are certainly the kind of actions one might expect from the Egyptian Police in the last days of the Arab Spring, but not in Denver.”

Even after be subjected to police brutality, however, protesters in encampments from coast-to-coast vow that they will not be stopped.

“I don’t see how they’re going to disperse us,” Ohad Meyer, 30, of Oakland, tells USA Today after this morning’s ray in the Bay Area. “There are thousands of people who are going to come back.”

The Occupy Wall Street movement began in New York City on September 17 and has spread internationally in the two months since, along the way causing encampments to be established in nearly every major city in America and spawning thousands of arrests for peacefully protesting. A handful of those that began the movement in Manhattan’s Zuccotti Park are currently en route on foot to Washington DC, where they will protest the coming meeting of the congressional supercommittee.

Post 911 Targeted Individuals about NYPD: Spot informants, Remain silent

Targeted Individuals and Peace Groups: Do You Know What an Informant Looks Like?

Because NYPD officers are stalking, infiltrating innocent people’s groups to which they belong, photographing and tapping their phones and using other eavesdropping methods on them, plus using other “aggressive” spy tactics against innocent Targeted Individuals, persecuting Muslims in particular, human and civil rights advocates are teaching TIs how to spot infiltrators in their groups and how to employ other double-agent learning opportunities to defend civil and human rights, as revealed in an Associated Press investigation using internal police documents it obtained.

“Be very careful about involving the police,” a citizen injury prevention and rights brochure provided to Targeted Individuals says according to AP.

“If the individual is an informant, the police may not do anything … If the individual is not  an informant and you report them, the unintended consequences could be devastating,” teaches a City University of New York Law School brochure, warning people “to be wary when confronted by someone who advocates violence against the U.S., discusses terror organizations, is overly generous or is aggressive in their interactions.”

Such are lessons learned the hard way for many Targeted Individuals throughout the nation. (See Targeted Individuals, Deborah Dupré, Examiner.com) These targets have had their lives ruined since September 11, 2001, an event legal scholars and political analysts agree was manifested as a false flag by government insiders to remove rights of innocent people, thus offering corrupt leaders more control over people.

 “You are either with us or you’re with the terrorists,” said President George W. Bush, a wanted man in some countries due to his war crimes associated with the 911 mass murder since that crime justified to many, as intended through fear and emotion, to attack Middle Easterners.
According to the AP, NYPD is still using Bush’s same fear-based sentiment to justify its stalking, eavesdropping, presenting as people they are not to infiltrate peaceful groups to photograph and report on innocent TIs.
“There’s not a reference here to the fact that New York is the No. 1 target of Islamic terrorists, that the NYPD and the FBI have protected New York,”  New York Republican Rep. Peter King said, referring to the recent brochure about how to detect police informants.
Since most of the time, “counter-terrorists” are just on a “fishing expedition,” according to Ramzi Kassem, law professor at City University of New York, “safest thing you can do for yourself, your family and for your community, is not to answer” law enforcers.
King, also chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, said that kind of reaction involving Muslims knowing their rights and protecting themselves from spies is “disgraceful.”

The AP investigation reveals that NYPD has dispatched plainclothes officer spies to use aggressive stalking and counterterrorism tactics against innocent Targeted Individuals (TIs) and their associates since the September 11 NY City mass murder, as TIs have consistently reported to the Examiner’s Deborah Dupré over the past six years in her investigations.

AP reports infiltrating peaceful groups to which TIs belong, professional mutli-stalking, eavesdropping, and photographing in Muslim communities since Sept. 11, 2001 mass murder, often with no evidence of wrongdoing is so common, human rights defenders have advocated brochures and advice to TIs such as how to spot infiltrators.

The official White House appointed 911 Commission has released statements saying that President Bush ordered that they lie about what really transpired before, during an dafter 911.

NYPD has stalked community members hailed as partners who even dined with Mayor Michael Bloomberg and has infiltrated  mosques according to secret NYPD documents obtained by the AP.
Even restaurants serving Muslims were identified and photographed.

AP reports, “‘You’ll even hear imams saying, ‘As long as I obey the law, I have nothing to worry about.’ But that’s not how it plays out on the ground,” said Cyrus McGoldrick, CAIR New York’s civil rights manager.

Is that really how ‘it plays out on the ground’? Do innocent people really not mind being agressively stalked, a form of terror, having no privacy, having phone converations tapped and compuetrs hacked, or being lied to by police informants saying they are someone other than who they are – having their civil and human rights trampled by police in this post-911 era – all justified by 911 untruths?

May your noses always be cold and wet.

After the Franklin Scandal and the Portuguese pedophile scandal and The Dutroux Scandal and The French Pedophile Scandal and the U.K. Pedophile Scandal and the world wide Israeli sex trafficking trade of all sexes and ages and many more too numerous to mention comes the Sandusky sex ring for underprivileged old, rich white men, which also includes a murder. It also gets much darker than that and even darker than this. We can factor in the abuses of The Catholic Church, which requires no links because if you don’t already know more than you want to about this, then you don’t want to know in the first place. If you have six months of spare time in this Free Range Apocalypse you can go here for a primer.

Since I’ve done a lot of your research for you, I’m just going to state some things and you can take it or leave it. I’m also going to hypothesize a bit, extrapolate a bit and theorize a little. I find it interesting that any number of people don’t believe in God but most everyone believes in the devil; you may have gotten the idea that the biggest coup the devil ever pulled off was convincing people that he doesn’t exist. I don’t know if that comes from Angel Heart or The Usual Suspects, probably the latter. However, it’s my considered position that most people believe in evil and it does have to have a source.

I don’t need holy books to detail and delineate the phenomenon for me. It’s right in front of my eyes. Of course, it could be reasoned that I only see it because of the evil in me and like most things, the truth lies somewhere between any two or more conflicting opinions about something. I tend to believe that the truth is at right angles to everything else. My opinion is that the devil does and does not exist but that it doesn’t really matter for my purposes because whatever that force is, it has no power over those of us that can see through or past it. I have seen both of the two cosmic forces resident in individuals in my travels. I’ve been right up against that. I’ve been in the company of realized beings who were the hosting mechanism for The One and I’ve been in prisons and maximum security facilities for the criminally insane and had lunch with serial killers and people who have done things I don’t even want to talk about here or anywhere.

The reason the Sandusky affair went on for so long and nothing was done about it, is the same as The Dutroux affair and for the same reason that the higher ups connected to The Franklin affair and all the rest of them never got dragged out into the light of day. It is because these things go all the way to the top and involve members of governments, religions, law enforcement and every other endangered infrastructure that now trembles on the verge of collapse.

There is no observable reason why the Sandusky cluster fuck was allowed to continue after being seen in action on various occasions. There is no other conclusion to be realized other than that any number of names mentioned and yet unmentioned were in the thick of it and if they were not players they were constrained by blackmail or some other powerful force that could not be opposed. Consider the issue of a long standing and well known institution of higher learning and how easy it would have been to have dealt with the matter long ago. It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to follow the logical neural pathways of this situation.

Israel is one of the main players in all of this and their residents and dual nationals the world over control the global porn empire and their members sit on the boards, in a controlling position, in every major alternative sex organization there is. Sometimes it is exclusively them. This is fitting given their allegiance to the Prince of Darkness and why they are referred to as The Synagogue of Satan. We’ve all heard about the empty chair at the Rothschild dining table, set for Old Scratch; so named for those who have an itch. They’re not exclusive in these things. They have associates and enablers but they’re at the top of a small handful of the major players.

As I have stated on many occasions, the whole purpose of founding Israel was to create a sovereign state in which an international crime syndicate could operate from. This is why the sex trade there meets with no opposition. It has government sanction. Keep in mind that besides the things you do know there are far more horrible things that take place that you do not know about. Between Israel, The Vatican and a couple of global organizations with centers around the world, you have pretty much covered the gamut of those involved.

I have also mentioned any number of times that when an avatar is arriving, to set the tone for a coming age, all that is dark and dreadful is pushed out from the inner planes, where the enduring spiders operate and manipulate those on the physical end. What this results in is the wide spread performance of evil on the physical plane prior to the arrival of judgment. It’s a cyclic thing and it happens like Spring follows Winter.

I’m not writing this today to give you more bad news and to depress you; quite the reverse actually. For those of you who believe in a resident deity, you are aware, more or less of what scripture reports concerning these times. Therefore you require only two things, faith and endurance or, you can replace ‘endurance’ with ‘long-suffering’. Maintain these two states and you are home free. For those of you who believe only in the cyclical nature of conditions and events, simply observe that they are in operation and you’ll be wherever you are and whatever happens, happens; probably not as comforting as you would like but, conversely, you have the illusion of personal control and that’s more important to you than submission to something you don’t understand. For those of you who think you’re just a meat puppet, my suggestion is that you get in touch with whoever is pulling the strings. If you think that’s you then you have nothing to worry about according to you, so it’s all good, sort of.

I want to bring up the nine dead Gulf of Mexico whistleblowers and all those dead microbiologists. This should clue you in to why Congress, The White House and many another agency is in lockstep with the terrible trends of the time and why they lie, steal and murder, without any seeming sense of conscience or regret. I could bring up Senator Paul Wellstone, Ron Brown and Vince Foster but I see that I already have. Those who haven’t totally bought into the horror and horseshit are either in real fear of their lives, or being blackmailed for acts committed on junkets to Israel, or some other location where they were so stupid they didn’t think they would be video-taped. The penis does not have a brain and neither does the one carrying it, when the white cobra rears up and spits into the swollen darkness. I don’t want to seem racist by leaving out the other dicks of different colors but I’m dealing with primary mass here.

For some reason, I’m not feeling any fear whatsoever. This either means I have nothing to fear or I do but it’s handled somehow. I’m mentioning this to convey to the rest of you that all of this comes down to which basket you put your eggs in and to let you know you can’t have one foot in one room and one in the other because it can be problematic if someone goes to shut the door. Keep in mind; what is more powerful, the sun or the darkness it dispels? On the one hand, of course the sun is, depending too on how close or far away you are. There are places in this universe where you can’t see the sun, then again, you can just close your eyes and if the warmth troubles you you can pull a Gollum. That’s a personal consideration. Remember this… if you are traveling away it takes a very long time at any speed to get that far away from the sun, which means some people have been traveling in the wrong direction for an extended period. Can you turn around and go back the way you came? Of course you can, as long as you are still able or present.

It doesn’t matter if you die. How many people do you know that got out of here alive? Some of us do but unless you are working full time on that, which is the only way it happens, then you are looking at an appointment in Samarra sooner or later. What matters is what you died for and also what you lived for. Why is it that it never seems to dawn on most people that their lives can be lived for a higher purpose than submission to the wrong forces or the practices of consumption and procreation? Doesn’t everyone look around and see examples of lives being lived? Why don’t people study old people? Why don’t they go to retirement homes and holding facilities (sorry about the term) and observe? It’s the power of the dreamscape people. It’s the power of the collective dream upon the individual mind. Break the spell. All of these bad guys are under a spell. We are residents in an ongoing and ubiquitous magical war for the harvesting of souls. You can see this mathematically and even as a materialist, relatively speaking, if you know how.

I’m not concerned with how many people believe or scoff at what they read here. I’m already gainfully employed but no one of any stripe can argue away the incrementally approaching unknown and unless you have an answer for that, I suggest you get busy finding one. It is never prudent to enter into a space you know nothing about, without some kind of a map or an idea of what awaits you. I’m not clear on most of the features that are in place there but I’ve got a good idea of how to enter into it; make the right kind of friends on your way and leave good footprints.

End Transmission…….

Last night’s rapido radio show is now available for listening or download. I’d appreciate some comments concerning these shows, lest I move on to something else that might indicate more actual participation.

Girl, 13, left in ‘waking coma’ and sleeps for 23 hours a day after severe reaction to cervical cancer jabs

From Daily Mail’s  MailOnline

  • Lucy Hinks is unable to walk or talk after having injections at school

  • Parents warn others to check on potential side effects of Cervarix vaccine

Bad reaction: Lucy Hinks, 13, began to experience extreme exhaustion soon after having the cervical cancer vaccine alongside classmates

Bad reaction: Lucy Hinks, 13, began to experience extreme exhaustion soon after having the cervical cancer vaccine alongside classmates

They were told the vaccine had few side-effects and would protect their daughter from cervical cancer.

But Steve and Pauline Hinks are convinced the controversial HPV jab is behind their daughter Lucy’s mystery illness which is making her sleep up to 23 hours a day.

Tests have so far ruled out a brain tumour and glandular fever and the 13-year-old’s paediatric consultant is investigating potential links with the vaccine Cervarix.

The jab was used in a national vaccination programme which started in September 2008. But it has already been linked to several cases of girls displaying severe side-effects.

Before she received the vaccine, Lucy was perfectly healthy, had an excellent school attendance record and was among the top students in her year.

But just weeks after she received the third dose of Cervarix in May this year she began to feel exhausted. By July she had lost a stone in weight and was sleeping almost round-the-clock.

‘Some nights I’ve been so worried that I wake several times to make sure she’s still breathing,’ said her mother.

‘I was concerned about the potential side-effects because Lucy had a severe reaction from the MMR vaccine.

‘But I was reassured by the school nurse that side-effects were extremely unlikely. We feel betrayed because, like most parents, we trust the health authorities with our children’s lives.’

Mr Hinks, a health and safety manager at the Pirelli tyre factory in Carlisle, said: ‘We are desperate to find some sort of treatment which will give us back the daughter we had before.

 Cervical cancer injection

  • Almost all cases of cervical cancer start off as an HPV infection.

  • There are more than 30 types of HPV. The virus is typically transmitted through sexual contact.

  • 80 per cent of women will contract a form of HPV by the time they reach 50, most forms are harmless.

  • Two of the types, numbers 16 and 18, are responsible for 70 per cent of cervical cancer cases.

  • These two strains are treatable with HPV vaccines which are 98 per cent effective.

  • The other types of HPV are not preventable with the injections, which is why women must still have regular smear tests.

  • Only 5-10 per cent of women infected with the virus face the risk of the disease developing into cervical cancer.

  • This process usually takes 15–20 years.

‘We have to keep hoping that recovery will be soon.’

The vaccine is given to girls aged 12 and 13 in a nationwide programme which followed clinical trials in 2005 on more than 18,000 women under 26.

Parents who do not wish their daughters to have it must opt out. The vaccine is most effective when given to girls before they become sexually active.

In the first year of the nationwide vaccination programme more than 2,000 girls in the UK had health problems after being given the jab.

Jackie Fletcher, from pressure group JABS, called for the vaccine to be abandoned until it can be established beyond doubt that it is safe.

She said: ‘There have been some real horror stories. After the injection, suddenly they’ve got things like chronic fatigue syndrome.’

A spokesman for Cervarix’s manufacturers, GlaxoSmithKline, said the company took reports of adverse reactions very seriously and added: ‘The UK medicines safety agency regularly reviews all suspected adverse events and had concluded that no new or serious risks have been identified during the use of Cervarix in the UK and that the balance of benefits and risks remains positive.’

Robert Music, director of Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust, said: ‘If year on year take-up of the vaccine continues to be around 80 per cent the incidence of cervical cancer could be reduced by two-thirds in women under 30 by 2025.’

Her parents fear it could be years before she recovers. They now care for Lucy – who has lost nearly three stone – around the clock and describe their lives as a ‘living nightmare’.

The couple, from Port Carlisle, Cumbria, are urging parents to find out about the potential side effects of the vaccine, Cervarix.

Their warning comes as thousands of year eight pupils prepare to receive the vaccine in schools.

Mrs Hinks said: ‘I would not wish what we’ve been through on anyone.

‘I’ve not seen the whites of Lucy’s eyes for weeks and nobody can tell us when it will turn.

‘I would urge parents to get all the facts, gather as much information as you can. Decide for yourself if it’s right for your child.’

She added: ‘I could put up with the constant sleep. I believe her body needs it.

‘But it’s the fact that to me she’s in a waking coma, with no treatment.

‘At first we didn’t pay any major attention to it. We were only aware there was something seriously wrong this July.’

Lucy, a bright scholar at Nelson Tomlinson School with a gift for maths, had her third and final instalment of the vaccine in May.

Soon afterwards, she started displaying signs of exhaustion.

‘Then she got up one weekend,’ said Mrs Hinks. ‘She shouted for me, she was too exhausted to stand.’

Initially, Lucy’s GP found her spleen and liver were enlarged. Then, after the teenager collapsed in the doctor’s waiting room, she was taken to Carlisle’s Cumberland Infirmary.

She was submitted to a barrage of tests over the weeks to come, including those for glandular fever and a brain tumour. But these failed to find any cause.

Coping mechanism: Steve Hinks trawls the internet for curesCoping mechanism: Steve Hinks trawls the internet for cures

Later in the summer, Lucy was again admitted to hospital. This time she was unable to walk at all.

Mr Hinks said: ‘She had been able to limp from the settee to the toilet herself.

‘But suddenly she couldn’t take a single step. She lost her balance, her arms and legs were failing.

‘We got a letter from the consultant at the hospital. It says it’s quite possible that this might turn out to be a reaction to the HPV vaccine.’

Mrs Hinks, who gets up to her daughter through the night, said: ‘At one stage I thought she was going to die in her sleep.’

Recently, the family installed a stairlift to take Lucy from her bed to the living room sofa.

‘I bring her downstairs because she’s part of the family,’ said Mrs Hinks. ‘I want her down here and hope that subconsciously she can hear something of what’s going on.’

They have rigged up an electric bell which Lucy presses when she needs pain relief.

‘She can whisper five words,’ said Mr Hinks, who uses a microphone to help make out Lucy’s barely audible syllables.

‘She says “hurting, toilet, tablet, water” and, most of all, “mum”.’

Mr and Mrs Hinks spoon feed their daughter her lunch and dinner. Meals must consist of soft food, because chewing takes precious energy.

The couple said doctors are now 95 per cent sure Lucy’s diagnosis of ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) is correct.

Mrs Hinks has revisited the decision to allow Lucy to have the vaccine many times.

‘I have regrets,’ she said. ‘But it’s no good having them because you can’t change what we’ve got. Hindsight is a marvellous thing.’

Though neither has any criticisms of the local vaccination programme, Mr and Mrs Hinks are now urging parents to make sure they have as much information as possible before making a decision.

‘Talk to people about it,’ said Mrs Hinks. ‘You decide, not the Government, whether it’s right for your child.

The NHS initiated its UK HPV immunisation programme in September 2008.

The HPV jab is available on the NHS to those aged between 12 and 13 years old. Many are immunised at school.

Vaccines are delivered in three shots over six months. They do not have any therapeutic effect on existing HPV infections or cervical lesions which is why girls are vaccinated before they become sexually active.

The vaccine cuts the risk of cervical cancer by about 70 per cent

Of the four million vaccinations carried out over the programme’s first two years, there were 4,445 reported side effects.

  • 1,669 reported ‘injection-site reactions’ for example a sore arm.

  • 1,013 reported allergic reactions, most were rashes.

  • There were 3,591 ‘other recognised reactions’ including 631 cases of nausea and 629 headaches.

  • There were four cases of Guillan-Barre Syndrome, which can lead to paralysis. Although the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency notes: ‘There is no evidence that the vaccine has increased the frequency of GBS above that expected to occur naturally in the population’.

None of the deaths or serious health problems which have followed immunisation has been directly linked to the vaccine – but it has been known to trigger undetected health problems.

Some critics also believe that the HPV injection can give teenagers a false sense of security, encouraging them to be more sexually active because they no longer have to fear cervical cancer.

Is Ron Paul the only one that wants peace?

Ron Paul has distanced himself from the other GOP hopefuls on practically every platform. While it’s to be expected that each candidate campaigns with their own agendas, he’s been the only to say something that should resonate with most of America:

Peace is good.

During the most recent Republican debate, Paul was only awarded 89 seconds over the span of 90 minutes to voice his opinion on America’s foreign policy. In just that minute and a half, however, Congressman Paul had no problem separating himself from Romney, Cain, Perry, Bachmann and Gingrich by shutting down not just America’s ongoing wars, but the egregious practices that the US military employs on detained prisoners of war.

Both Bachmann and Cain used last week’s debate to voice their support for waterboarding detainees in order to drain them of intelligence. Paul, however, was quick to call out the practice as torture and condemn the country’s use of it during times of war.

“Anybody who has actually read about and understands the practice of waterboarding would say that that is torture. And that’s not something we do — period,” said the congressman.

Cain tried to distance himself from the topic of torture during the debate, arguing that he “would trust the judgment of our military leaders to determine what is torture and what is not torture.” In his opinion, however, waterboarding was a legitimate practice and if it was up to him, the practice would be continued.

Could Cain lose the GOP nod, Americans might expect the White House to continue approving waterboarding as a legitimate technique. In an interview with conservative radio host Michael Savage in the days after the debate, Cain entertained the idea of serving the country as Secretary of Defense, “to help the generals and commanders on the ground to get what they need, to do what they do best, and that is kick the you-know-what out of everyone in the world.”

Elsewhere on the foreign policy front, Cain recently flubbed on the name of America’s powerful Asian ally Uzbekistan, telling the Christian Broadcasting Network, “And when they ask me who is the president of Ubeki-beki-beki-beki-stan-stan I’m going to say, you know, I don’t know. Do you know?

Aside from Paul and fellow hopeful Jon Huntsman, other candidates came in support of waterboarding. According to Paul, however, it is wrong on many levels.

“It’s illegal under international law and under our law. It’s also immoral. And it’s also very impractical. There’s no evidence that you really get reliable evidence. Why would you accept the position of torturing 100 people because you know one person might have information? And that’s what you do when you accept the principle of torture. I think it’s uncivilized and has no practical advantages and is really un-American to accept on principle that we will torture people that we capture,”said the congressman.

Waterboarding has become a hot topic since it was revealed that the practice — which emulates the effects of drowning on detainees — was being employed during the George W Bush administration.

White House deputy spokesman Tony Fratto stated in 2008 that the Bush administration did in fact encourage counterterrorism agents to use waterboarding in order to gain intelligence in the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks. At the time Fratto said that the issue of waterboarding “was brought before the Department of Justice and they made a determination that its use under specific circumstances and with safeguards was lawful.”

Former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsefled, however, went on the record to say that waterboarding did nothing to help obtain information on the whereabouts of Osama bin Laden, arguably the biggest counterterrorism success America has had during the past decade.

During the last debate, Representative Michele Bachmann argued otherwise, however, saying that as a counterterrorism technique, “I think it was very effective.”

Ron Paul also separated himself from the other candidates by backing-away from any attacks on Iran as talks of the country’s nuclear program become more common.

“I’m afraid what’s going on right now is similar to the war propaganda that went on against Iraq. And, you know, they didn’t have weapons of mass destruction. And it was orchestrated and it was, to me, a tragedy of what’s happened these last 10 years, the death and destruction, $4 trillion in debt. So no, it’s not worthwhile going to war,” said Paul.

Aside from Paul, Huntsman’s campaign agenda most severely critiques America’s current foreign policy tactics, and perhaps he should know best — of all the GOP hopefuls, he has the most experience on the matter, having previously served as an ambassador to China. He has polled poorly in recent weeks, however, leaving Paul with perhaps the only chance to be a Republican nominee opposed to ongoing American wars a viable chance at the White House.

Will Dick Cheney Be Arrested on Wednesday?

From War Is A Crime .org

formerly AfterDowningStreet

By David Swanson

I’ve just sent this letter by email.

To: Charlottesville, Va., Mayor Dave Norris, Police Chief Timothy Longo
From: David Swanson

I hope you will consider this request from a deeply concerned citizen on its legal merits rather than its acceptability in certain social circles or how it might be received by certain television talking heads.

Conspiracy to torture has long been a felony in the U.S. Code, in both Title 18, Section 2340, and Title 18, Section 2441.  The United States is also a party to the Convention Against Torture, which requires the criminal prosecution of complicity in torture, and which — under Article VI of the U.S. Constitution — is part of the supreme Law of the Land.

Were a local resident credibly accused of torture, I sincerely doubt you would hesitate to seek his or her immediate arrest and indictment.

Waterboarding was universally recognized as torture until its acceptance by the U.S. government between 2001 and 2009.  The United States hung Japanese soldiers for it following World War II, and U.S. citizens have been convicted for it in U.S. courts.

Former U.S. Vice President Richard B. Cheney has repeatedly admitted to authorizing waterboarding.  He has made this confession in writing and on video, repeatedly.  Here is one example:

“I was aware of the program, certainly, and involved in helping get the process cleared, as the agency in effect came in and wanted to know what they could and couldn’t do,” Cheney said. “And they talked to me, as well as others, to explain what they wanted to do. And I supported it.”

Cheney is likely to make the same confession publicly at the University of Virginia’s Miller Center this Wednesday, November 16, 2011, where he will be speaking at 11 a.m.

The Law Enforcement Oath of Honor reads:

On my honor,
I will never betray my badge,
my integrity, my character,
or the public trust.
I will always have
the courage to hold myself
and others accountable for our actions.
I will always uphold the Constitution
my community and the agency I serve.

This admirable oath does not commit one who swears it to upholding the Constitution when convenient, or finding courage when Fox News approves, or betraying one’s integrity as long as there’s a good excuse handy.

There is no good excuse I am aware of not to arrest Dick Cheney if he sets foot in Charlottesville.  Other towns in the United States have passed ordinances commiting to seeking his arrest should he set foot there.  Charlottesville should be able to expect no less of its law enforcement officers.

Cheney could be arrested and turned over to federal authorities.  What they do with him, if anything, is not our concern.

Or Cheney could be arrested and indicted in Virginia.  Why Virginia?  A program of warrantless spying instituted by Cheney has almost certainly violated Virginia law in Virginia.  Programs of lawless imprisonment and torture developed by Cheney have almost certainly violated Virginia law in Virginia, including in the case of Bradley Manning’s torture at Quantico, as well as the case of Yaser Esam Hamdi whose illegal treatment has been recognized as such by the U.S. Supreme Court.  The CIA’s torture program has almost certainly violated Virginia law, U.S. law, and the Convention Against Torture at the CIA’s headquarters in Langley and its training facility in Williamsburg.  Cheney is a Virginia resident, and Virginia’s obligations under the Convention Against Torture are not eliminated by the United States’ open and shameful violation of that treaty.

I thank you for your serious consideration of the legal and moral action to be taken in this moment of national weakness.  I would be grateful for your response and promise to seriously consider any points on which you can enlighten me.

Open flyer: PDF.

Another year, another war criminal book-touring at the Miller Center.  This time, on Wednesday, November 16th, it’ll be Dick Cheney, who . . .

  • lied to the public and Congress to launch a war on Iraq;

  • pressured the CIA to assist in fraud;

  • threatened and worked to promote war on Iran;

  • lied to the public and Congress in an effort to launch war on Iran;

  • led a campaign of retribution against a whistleblower;

  • refused a Congressional subpoena;

  • obstructed DOJ investigations;

  • profited from his own war making;

  • led the creation of programs of warrantless spying, lawless imprisonment, and torture;

  • created a secret energy task force that violated open-government laws;

  • mishandled classified information and destroyed visitors logs;

  • suppressed evidence in the California energy crisis;

The Last Thing The Powers That Be Want Is For Iceland To Become An Example Of How To Break With

Usurious Debt “Obligations”.

Here’s Why:

Before It's News

From Before It’s News

An Italian radio program’s story about Iceland’s on-going revolution is a stunning example of how little our media tells us about the rest of the world. Americans may remember that at the start of the 2008 financial crisis, Iceland literally went bankrupt.  The reasons were mentioned only in passing, and since then, this little-known non-member of the European Union fell back into oblivion.

As one European country after another fails or risks failing, imperiling the Euro, with repercussions for the entire world, the last thing the powers that be want is for Iceland to become an example.

Five years of a pure neo-liberal regime had made Iceland, (population 320 thousand, no army), one of the richest countries in the world. In 2003 all the country’s banks were privatized, and in an effort to attract foreign investors, they offered on-line banking whose minimal costs allowed them to offer relatively high rates of return.

The accounts, called IceSave, attracted many English and Dutch small investors.  But as investments grew, so did the banks’ foreign debt.  In 2003 Iceland’s debt was equal to 200 times its GNP, but in 2007, it was 900 per cent.  The 2008 world financial crisis was the coup de grace. The three main Icelandic banks, Landbanki, Kapthing and Glitnir, went belly up and were nationalized, while the Kroner lost 85% of its value with respect to the Euro.  At the end of the year Iceland declared bankruptcy.

How Iceland Did It
