CONFIRMED: The Trillion-Dollar Lawsuit That Could End Financial Tyranny

From Divine Cosmos.com

Written by David Wilcock

It could be the biggest, most explosive story in modern history. We are just starting to put the pieces together and understand what is going on in the occult financial geopolitical scene, and how a 117-nation alliance is working to free the Earth from financial tyranny.

[UPDATE, NEXT MORNING: On the same day this article came out, Benjamin Fulford was allegedly detained in a hotel against his will by a “CIA-type group”… and his life may be in danger.

This caused him to miss his appearance on a TV show he was scheduled to be on. The videos are at the end. This could be serious. We pray for Ben’s well-being and encourage you to help spread the word. Publicity is protection!]

As I write these words, the average person is coming face-to-face with disturbing, if not dire news.

Not only could the disastrous financial debacle of 2008 be about to repeat itself, it may even be a lot worse this time.

As of November 28, 2011, media outlets announced that we could be as little as ten days away from a complete collapse of the Euro — and with it, much of the rest of the world’s economies could be pulled down as well.

Yet another grandiose “bailout” maneuver was used to buy some time — but this has done little to address the gnawing unease in the public, particularly as the saber-rattling in the Middle East is again reaching a fever pitch.

This, at least, is the mainstream media’s perspective on what is going on — and thankfully, it is completely baseless.

In classic Orwellian terms — such as “War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, Ignorance is Strength” — the mainstream media’s “Global Financial Collapse” cry of doom may very well be the best thing that’s ever happened to us.

At least in any known, recorded history.

You are about to dive into a story that, for quite some time now, has been nothing but a great-sounding idea — a wonderful “what if.” Almost nothing of this story could be found in the mainstream media.

However, the bizarre origin of the story did briefly find its way into FOX‘s Glenn Beck show in 2009.

I highly recommend you watch this first, as it will draw you directly into the mystery — which flickered for the briefest moment in mainstream media, only to disappear into shuddering silence:

Notice that Beck says FOX contacted the Treasury Department about this case, and received an official blow-off letter in response — basically saying they had “no comment” on this 134 billion dollars in US bonds, seized at the Italian border, as it was “evidence in an ongoing investigation.”

Beck then goes on to put up the numbers of which countries hold the largest numbers of US bonds. In order, they are China at 763.5 billion, Japan at 685.9 billion, the United Kingdom at 152.8 billion, Russia at 137.0 billion and Brazil at 126.0 billion.

Based on the public, unclassified numbers, 134.5 billion dollars in US bonds could only have been produced by Russia, the UK, Japan or China… no one else. The amount of money is so huge that if Russia produced it, they would only have 2.5 billion dollars in US bonds left over!

Joe Wiesenthal, the editor of BusinessInsider.com, said that whether this was a government dumping its bonds or a counterfeit operation, it was “gigantic” in scope and “unlike anything we’ve ever seen — not just in size but also in sophistication.”

According to Wiesenthal, in order to counterfeit these bonds, “it would be the kind of technology you would expect only a government to have.” Wiesenthal also believes the 1934 issuance date on the bonds suggests they may be elaborate forgeries.

Once you know what you are looking for, you can do some digging and find all the most significant articles published online about this strange story when it first broke in June, 2009.

Here is the original Bloomberg article on the scandal:

Here is a Daily Kos summary of links describing what may have happened:

Here is an Asia Times article on the issue, which has a lot more detail:

In these two articles, “The Underground Investor” analyzed the evidence and clearly established how strange this whole story really was:

Ever since this bizarre event happened, the only follow-up to the story has been in the form of an elaborate amount of ‘insider’ information leaked by Benjamin Fulford — the former Asia-Pacific bureau chief for Forbes Magazine — on a week-by-week basis.

Finally, the lawsuit at the epicenter of this investigation has now become a tangible reality — validating everything Fulford has been saying about this mysterious case since it originally started.

Looming storm clouds threatened to demolish Fulford’s credibility in a single crash of lightning as the all-important date of November 15th, 2011 came and went — with nothing to show for it — after years of fanfare and buildup on his websites.

However, on November 23, 2011, the clouds parted. A vast, 111-page legal complaint was filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. This complaint is now a provable matter of public record… as you are about to see.

I have since discovered hundreds of pages of intricate, complex material to read, firsthand eyewitnesses to interview, and official documents to scrutinize. There is no lack of “homework” to be done for those who are interested.

Here is the search window that opens up when you go to pacer.gov and register as a user for eight cents a page. This website is a public service that allows you to search for any and all legal cases that have been filed in America:

Once you’ve set up your user account, type in “Keenan, Neil” under “Party Name”, and you will then see this:

Notice the fifth item down on the list… 2011-cv-8500, filed on November 23, 2011. That’s the one. You can then click into it from there, and one of the screens you will pull up is the following:

Did you catch that list of defendants?

If the amount of money being sued for isn’t stunning enough, that list of defendants should attract a great deal of attention — for it includes the Italian Republic, the Italian Financial Police, Italy’s Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, the World Economic Forum, Ban Ki-Moon (the head of the UN), and the United Nations itself.

What the hell is going on here?

If you don’t want creepy government spies watching you, and you don’t want to pay eight cents a page, here’s the entire PDF file as it appears once you download it off the PACER website — parked locally here at our website, Divine Cosmos:

Dan McCue started asking the same questions you may now be thinking about… and as a result, he was the first mainstream journalist to cover this story in Courthouse News Service, a nationwide news service for lawyers and the news media.

McCue isn’t necessarily convinced — the article is entitled “Bizarre Claim for $1 Trillion” — but given that this is a real case, he is certainly interested enough to write about it.

Here’s an overview of what McCue wrote:

MANHATTAN (CN) – An American expatriate in Bulgaria claims the United Nations, the World Economic Forum, the Office of International Treasury Control and the Italian government conspired with a host of others to steal more than $1.1 trillion in financial instruments intended to support humanitarian purposes.

The 111-page federal complaint involves a range of entities common to conspiracy theorists, including the Vatican Illuminati, the Masons, the “Trilateral Trillenium Tripartite Gold Commission,” and the U.S. Federal Reserve.

Plaintiff Neil Keenan claims he was entrusted in 2009 with the financial instruments — which included U.S. Federal Reserve notes worth $124.5 billion, two Japanese government bonds with a combined face value of $19 billion, and one U.S. “Kennedy” bond with a face value of $1 billion — by an entity called the Dragon Family, which is a group of several wealthy and secretive Asian families.

“The Dragon family abstains from public view and knowledge, but, upon information and belief, acts for the good and better benefit of the world in constant coordination with higher levels of global financial organizations, in particular, the Federal Reserve System,” Keenan claims.

“During the course of its existence over the last century, the Dragon family has accumulated great wealth by having provided the Federal Reserve Bank and the United States Government with asset assignments of gold and silver via certain accounts held in Switzerland, for which it has received consideration in the form of a variety of Notes, Bonds and Certificates such as those described … that are an obligation of the Federal Reserve System.”

Keenan says that with accrued interest the instruments are now worth more than $1 trillion. He says the family designated him as its principal in an effort to select certain registered and authorized Private Placement Investment Programs (PPPs) for the benefit of unspecified global humanitarian efforts.

In his remarkable complaint, Keenan claims that the U.S. government [received] enormous amounts of money — delivered in gold and other precious metals — from the Dragon Family many years ago, and that the money was placed into the Federal Reserve System for the benefit and underwriting support of the dollar, “which was to become and currently remains the global reserve currency”….

The complaint alleges a complicated history with many moving parts and scores of internationally known and unknown characters, the sum of which is that Keenan claims he was entrusted with billions of dollars in bonds by the Dragon Family….

[These instruments were then stolen as two Japanese agents attempted to cross the border from Italy into Switzerland with them, contained in the suitcase you see in the image at the top of this article.]

[Keenan] claims that as the conspiracy continued to unfold, various high level officials repeatedly offered him a bribe of $100 million to “release” the instruments without disclosing their theft to the Dragon family, and to allow the instruments to be converted to a so-called UN “Sovereign Program” wholly under the auspices, protection and umbrella of the sovereign immunity enjoyed by the defendants.

Other defendants include UN General Secretary Ban Ki-Moon, Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, Giancarlo Bruno, who is identified as head of the banking industry for the World Economic Forum, Italy’s ambassador to the UN Cesare Maria Ragaflini, Ray C. Dam, president of the Office of International Treasury Control, and David A. Sale, the deputy chief of the council for the cabinet of the OITC.

Keenan seeks the return of the stolen instruments, punitive damages and court costs on multiple claims of fraud, breach of contract and violation of international law.

He is represented by William H. Mulligan Jr., with Bleakley, Platt & Schmidt of White Plains, N.Y.

Interested? I encourage you to visit Courthouse News Service, as McCue does a great job of summarizing the rest of the case. This is just an overview.

Courthouse News Service didn’t quite have the stomach to quote one of the most interesting paragraphs in the entire complaint… but I do. This is where the whole story really started taking shape for me:

Upon information and belief, these Bonds [held by the Dragon Family] have values ranging in the many Thousands of Trillions of United States Dollars, a relatively small portion of which is involved in the claims giving rise to this action.

Each of these currencies, such as the DFFI [Dragon Family Financial Instruments] involved in this action, was and remains duly registered within the Federal Reserve System — and are directly verifiable by the Federal Reserve through its efficient verification system and screening process.

Thousands of trillions of dollars? You have GOT to be kidding me! As soon as I read that, I had to know more… because I had enough information to be convinced that this was not a spurious lawsuit. I immediately lined up an interview with Fulford to clear this up.

The bottom line is that the Dragon Family intended for these bonds to be stolen. They represented only a small percentage of the overall asset base… all of which is clandestinely registered within the Federal Reserve and the Bank of International Settlements!

Fulford gave an introduction to the story in this interview — and I then found out much, much more as time went on.

This was an elaborate sting operation that has brought us to where we are today — where a vast international alliance of 117 countries now has a legal way to end the financial tyranny of the Old World Order.

I have been working solidly on this case, every day, for over three weeks now — which in my current life seems like an eternity, given all the other balls I’m juggling at the same time.

The amount of information to assimilate and correlate, and the complexity of fitting the pieces all together, is staggering.

I have now been in extensive contact with Neil Keenan, the principal plaintiff in this case, as well as Keith Scott, who is also mentioned in the complaint. Scott is an expert in this utterly secretive world of trading between central banks — and is well aware of the vast wealth underwriting them, all held in the strictest secrecy.

Keenan has never worked for any government or clandestine agency. He is a businessman who ultimately became acquainted with the Dragon Family — the former ruling party of China, prior to the arrival of Communism — and gained their trust.

I have now personally surveyed over 300 different photographs and dozens of separate documents Keenan sent me, related to this case — including the now-infamous Book of Maklumat. They are extremely complex — and extremely compelling. This all appeared after I conducted the interview with Fulford you are about to hear… and read.

This whole story is true. Devastatingly true.

It is the single biggest real problem the Powers that Were have ever had. That also means it’s extremely good news for everyone else.

In one particularly remarkable case of personal validation, I emailed Keenan with a description from one of my highest-placed insiders about what the boxes that contained these bonds actually looked like. None of this information had ever been put online.

Less than 15 minutes later, Keenan sent me dozens of pictures that precisely matched the description I had just given him. I was absolutely stunned. There is no possible way he could have faked something like that within fifteen minutes.

It is not yet clear whether I will release any of these images. The last thing I would want to do is to damage this case in any way, and it may also violate international laws — giving the loyal opposition an easy way to attack me.

However, we do have at least one image that is safe to share. Here, again, is the photo released by the Italian media after these bonds were first seized:

Let’s not waste any more time. Here’s the link to download the 98-meg, high-quality MP3 file of this stunning, 98-minute interview… followed by the transcript, which I have loaded up with links you can check out yourself:

Remembering His-Story – Iran Attack Next?

From Global Research

 by Bruce Gagnon

This map tells the whole story. Each star represents a U.S. military base. In the middle, in blue, is Iran. Iran has no military bases outside its borders. Just north of Iran is Georgia that has essentially become a U.S./NATO base. Turkey belongs to NATO. Iran has been checkmated. North of Georgia is Russia. Can there be any wonder why Russia is so alarmed about an attack on Iran?

Imagine if we saw a map of the U.S. with Russian or Chinese military bases throughout Canada and Mexico along with their warships just off the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. The American people would be going ballistic. But when we do it to others, no one even blinks an eye.

Following the recent spy drone fiasco over Iran the U.S. has been working hard to justify these flights. In an Associated Press story yesterday it was reported that the covert operations in play are “much bigger than people appreciate,” said Stephen Hadley, former national security adviser under George W. Bush. “But the U.S. needs to be using everything it can.” Hadley said that if Iran continues to defy U.N. resolutions and doesn’t curb its nuclear ambitions, the quiet conflict “will only get nastier.”

Hadley’s statement “But the U.S. needs to be using everything it can” has the sound of immanent danger, of desperation. But after looking at this map where does the danger really lie? Iran is actually no danger to anyone. The real danger is that the U.S./NATO/Israel have their itchy fingers on the war trigger and could attack at any time.

One last thing is Mr. Hadley himself. Unknown to the public at large, Stephen Hadley carried on a quiet career in the shadow of Brent Scowcroft and Condoleeza Rice. A business lawyer convicted of fraud, he became the counselor for the largest arms manufacturer in the world, Lockheed Martin. He advised the candidate George W. Bush, helped write the U.S.’s new aggressive nuclear doctrine, helped create the Department of Homeland Security, supervised new entries into NATO, and helped sell the invasion of Iraq. Ever faithful, he protected Bush the father from the Irangate scandal and Bush the son from the lies of the Iraq war. He found himself rewarded by becoming George W. Bush’s National Security Advisor.

At the beginning of the 1980s, Mr. Steven Hadley ran an insurance fraud of close to $1.1 million. He was discovered, found guilty by a court in Iowa, and forced to reimburse the money. To erase any trace to his crime, he changed his name to Stephen John Hadley.

When Ronald Reagan took the White House, Mr. Hadley stayed in the private sector. However, in 1986, the Irangate scandal broke. President Reagan appointed a commission of three wise men to “investigate”. It was composed of the Texan Senator John Tower, Edmund Muskie, and Brent Scowcroft who called Stephen J. Hadley to his side. In spite of the evidence, the commission concluded that President Reagan and Vice-President Bush were innocent. They found that the financing of the Contras in Nicaragua through the trafficking of drugs and illegal weapons sales to Iran was a secret initiative of over-zealous members of the National Security Council, put into place without the knowledge of their superiors. No big heads rolled.

As lawyer for Lockheed Martin, Hadley worked with the directors of the firm, including Lyne Cheney (wife of Dick). He became close with Bruce P. Jackson, the vice-president of the firm in charge of creating new markets. Together they initiated the U.S. Committee to Expand NATO into which they brought Richard Perle and Paul Wolfowitz. The Committee engineered the entry of the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland into NATO in 1999. Then that of Bulgaria, Estonia, Latonia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. Each time, the leaders of the new member states were solicited to bring their armies up to the scale (interoperability) with NATO, in other words, to purchase new military hardware from Lockheed Martin.

Global Network board member Karl Grossman reported 10 years ago that Hadley was also instrumental in helping Donald Rumsfeld write his report calling for U.S. control and domination of space. “Space is going to be important. It has a great future in the military,” Hadley told the Air Force Association Convention in a 2001 speech. Introduced as an “adviser to Governor George W. Bush,” Hadley said that Bush’s “concern has been that the [Clinton] Administration…doesn’t reflect a real commitment to missile defense.” In 1998 Rumsfeld’s commission reversed a 1995 finding by the nation’s intelligence agencies that the country was not in imminent danger from ballistic missiles acquired by new powers, declaring that “rogue states” did pose such a threat. The answer? Missile defense.

It is obvious that Hadley has been at this game a very long time. His connections to Lockheed Martin, and even the Bush administration, have been long forgotten. So when he is quoted in a current news story few see the irony of him defending CIA spy drone flights over Iran. It is good that we take a moment though and remember the real “his-story” otherwise we are likely to repeat the terror and carnage of past U.S. snake oil invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq.

Palestinian flag to fly at UNESCO

PARIS (AFP) – The Palestinian flag will be hoisted Tuesday at UNESCO headquarters, over a month after its admission to the UN cultural agency sparked anger and reprisals from the United States and Israel.

President Mahmoud Abbas will travel to Paris to attend the event, which led Washington to pull funding to the UN organisation, and which is seen by many as a step on the Palestinians’ road to eventual UN membership.

“President Abbas wants to show the importance he attaches to UNESCO,” said a Palestinian diplomat. “And this is the first time that the flag will be flown at the headquarters of a UN institution.”

The UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation says the flag-hoisting is a symbolic ceremony “to mark Palestine’s admission to the organisation” that takes place each time a new member joins.

The Palestinians were admitted to the body in late October, when the UNESCO general assembly voted 107-14 to make Palestine its 195th member.

The result angered the United States, Israel’s staunch ally, which says the Palestinians must first reach a peace agreement with Israel before they can become full members of an international organisation.

Washington immediately suspended its funding to the UN body, which selects and oversees World Heritage sites and also works in areas from literacy and media freedom to science and environmental issues.

US President Barack Obama said he had frank and firm words with his French counterpart Nicolas Sarkozy, voicing US disappointment because Paris had supported the Palestinian UNESCO bid.

The US cash freeze deprived UNESCO of 22 per cent of its budget, leaving a hole of $65 million this year and a $143 million shortfall for 2012-2013.

This forced its director general, Irina Bokova, to announce drastic savings, even though some countries pledged exceptional contributions, among them Indonesia with $10 million and Gabon with $2 million.

Israel, for its part, took its own retaliatory measures, by deciding to accelerate settlements in East Jerusalem and the West Bank and freezing the transfer of funds to the Palestinian Authority.

Every month, Israel transfers tens of millions of dollars in customs duties on Palestinian-bound goods that transit through Israeli ports, but it often freezes them as a punitive measure during disagreements.

Faced with international criticism, Israel later lifted its freeze on the funds which represent a large chunk of the Palestinian Authority’s budget.

UNESCO membership has had no impact on the Palestinians’ bid for full UN membership. They would need nine votes out of 15 in the Security Council, but the United States has made clear that it would veto the bid.

Abbas, who reiterated on December 5 that he would push on with his campaign for UN membership, will meet Sarkozy after the UNESCO ceremony, then go on a tour that takes him to the capitals of Britain and Turkey.

Damned Lies, War and Money, Part two.

( Read also : History of Money, War—All damned Lies! Part One: )

Israel is a Crown colony whose purpose is twofold—to prepare the way for the adept’s philosophy of One World, One Bank, OneFalseGod, and to serve as the Crown’s wedge in the oil rich, Muslim dominated Middle east.

A third underlying reason for the Crown’s projected world war against Islam is simply “money creation and usury.” Islam abhors usury and Central Banks exist for it—the basic usury conflict is seldom mentioned by controlled media pundits today.

Suffice it to say now that the Crown’s philosophy is antichrist (Talmudic), and it certainly shows up in the way Christianity is treated in the mainstream culture and media. Incidentally, the mainstream media (MSM) are controlled by the Crown through interlocking directorates, thus the media always serves their purposes rather than the truth.

It is impossible for me to name individuals from within the directorate of the Crown with any certainty because they strive for anonymity, but their names are not important since we can easily analyze their deeds from the events of known history. It is by their fruits that we know them.

Any conspiracy nut worth his salt will tell you that “they” financed Lenin and Trotsky and Hitler in our modern era. This, of course, refers to an “immaculate they” which is my all-encompassing pronoun used to describe some high cabal—such as our very real Crown from the City of London.

In another paper I summarize the philosophical side of this massive conspiracy so that the events we use to illustrate it here make even more sense in a perverse way.

At this point we stay with economic manipulation, which is the bride of religious manipulation. (They have proved that money can buy religious fervor—today’s oxymoron Christian Zionists.)
Today’s insane geopolitical mess began in the 1880’s and picked up steam after the turn of the 20th century.

The Crown had worn out the taxpaying base of the British Isles for maintaining the Empire fiction, especially after costly wars in the “Raj” which is how they referred to India and SE Asia. Then another war to take South Africa at the turn of the century, so they simply adopted or usurped the masses of the United States by manipulating the US to take over the forefront of their imperialism.

The United States was steered into a Spanish American war of Imperialism simply to establish a junior partner for the Crown’s empire. With eyes on instigating WW1.

World War One marked the Bankster transition from London to New York. Incidentally, the actual homebase for Crown operations isn’t important in modern times.

Philosophically, Jerusalem is the most important location of these long-range planners.
Britannia ruled the oceans for more than 200 years, and established the Crown as the premier world power (money creating and lending institution). It became apparent to the Crown very early in the oil-patch game that “black gold” was going to rule the world’s economy—they correctly deduced that nothing else would be so dominant in the mechanical world as fuel for the machines. Petroleum fuel quickly became the most important facet of international economy. Up until oil became king, control of the oceans was the key.

Whill the rest of the world thought in terms of coal fired steam engines that dominated the first half of the 19th century, the Crown with its tremendous resources and control over academic and technical institutions correctly assumed that petroleum oozing out of the ground would very soon dominate all endeavors of mankind.

Until nuclear energy came along, oil was the cheapest, most abundant source of energy having a favorable energy-in/energy-out ratio.

(One little aside here: history remarks on how Henry Ford saw the danger of the financial cabal and battled against the Crown his entire life. In bitterness, Ford blamed the “Jews” which illustrates how clever the Crown really is at establishing scapegoats. Yes there have been Jews on the Directorate, and Masonry is very much a Talmudic philosophy, but those ordinary folk who call themselves ethnic Jews are also unwitting cannon fodder. The phenomenon of “anti-Semitism” or hating a Jew simply because he is a Jew serves the Crown’s manipulations well. For example, note how the “holocaust®” was used to forge modern Israel.)

The early merchant kings had honed their skills going back to the days of trade routes across Asia, so they easily controlled steamships and railroads at the dawning of the industrial revolution. Besides, the Crown also had a long-time controlling hand in all the insurance and stock exchanges worldwide. They automatically controlled anything and everything that could be called “capital intensive” because they created and ruled the capital.

For example, John D. Rockefeller had to get a lot of financing to establish his early “capital intensive” Standard Oil monopoly; The Nobel family of Sweden developed the world’s first major oil field at Baku in Azerbaijan on the Caspian Sea but the Crown took over control during WW1 in a diabolically brilliant plot.

Just as petroleum blossomed into black gold with the advent of Henry Ford’s auto manufacturing assembly line after 1903, the Crown realized the British Empire was on the wane. Competition from Germany was serious, Russia had always been a threat, and the United States had survived the civil war, which the Crown had helped to instigate.

The Ottoman Empire was also on the wane, while it appeared that huge amounts of oil lie buried beneath Muslim dominated real estate.

You can only imagine how difficult it is to manipulate an entire world population of stubborn and irrepressible human beings to bring about total dominance of all trade, all war, all commerce, and all money. It wasn’t easy, but they did it—their New World Order (not ours) is virtually here.

In the early decade of the 1900s, if the Crown were to maintain its worldwide power in the face of seething nationalistic populations, all with strong desires of their own, it had to act boldly.

So, around the turn of the century, not only did they cleverly enlist the United States in aggressive steps toward Imperialism by fostering the Spanish-American war, they also took South Africa away from the Boers, and arranged for the Japanese to have a very strong modern navy in order to keep Russia out of the Pacific. After all, the Crown had long prevented Russia from getting a seaport in any warm waters to the south and west, and there was no need to acquiesce in the Pacific. The Japanese stunning naval defeat of the Russians in 1902 did the trick neatly, and the Crown directors smiled silently as the Russian bear remained landlocked—and long-range plans for “pearl Harbor” were hatched. After all it was Crown armaments giant, Vickers who built all the Japanese ships and armaments.

There is nothing in the above recitation of history that is not well known—except, perhaps, the central role of the Crown. Historians insist upon calling it the “British” Empire, but the people of Britain had absolutely nothing to do with it.

The “Commonwealth” is an interesting term for nations who are tied directly to the Crown. All the millions of subjects (not citizens) in the Commonwealth have no say, nor anything to do with the Empire, except to play the same pretend politics we play in the US today and provide able bodies for the military and all the tax dollars. (and the corrupted politicians)

In the coming third part, key details of the “great war” billed as the war to end all wars are covered.

Secret trade report obtained by AIPAC and Israel compromised sensitive US industry secrets

From SabbahReport
because silence is complicity!

WASHINGTON, Dec 13, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) – Following a three year Freedom of Information Act battle, US Trade Ambassador Ron Kirk has been forced to publicly release a secret report about America’s first bilateral trade agreement. The 1984 report predicted which US industries would be most harmed by massive trade preferences for Israel.

Israeli Lobby: US Political and Media TwistersIn 2009 the Institute for Research: Middle Eastern Policy (IRmep), a Washington nonprofit that works to improve policy formulation, sought public release of the report. The USTR refused. IRmep appealed to an outside review panel arguing that declassified FBI files revealed both the Israeli government and American Israel Public Affairs Committee unlawfully obtained the report in 1984. A declassified FBI investigation uncovered AIPAC’s receipt of the report from Israel’s Economics Minister, who refused to divulge how he obtained it. IRmep successfully argued that Americans most harmed by the data theft should also have access to the report.

The International Trade Commission compiled “Probable Economic Effect of Providing Duty-Free Treatment for Imports from Israel” by soliciting confidential business information from all concerned industries. US tomato growers and canners wanted to protect domestic production and jobs while discounting Israel as a significant market for US products. Arkansas bromine producers were concerned that Israel’s state-owned producer would displace private sector US jobs in an economically challenged region.

According to the secret trade report,

“Opposition to the duty-free tariff treatment for jewelry was voiced by the largest national jewelry trade association and several domestic producers…Support for the elimination of jewelry tariffs came from an importer and the American Israel Public Affairs Committee….The implementation of this proposal would eliminate uncertainty about the future of the GSP program, a program which is the key to Israel’s competitiveness in the US market.”

Passage of Israel trade preferences into law in 1985 created a chronic US deficit averaging $10 billion per year. In May of 2011, IRmep’s Center for Policy and Law Enforcement filed a petition with the USTR Section 301 Committee demanding $6.64 billion in compensation for exporters that suffered confidential business information loss to AIPAC and Israel. Although USTR refused to pursue the petition, the report’s public release now provides crucial evidence for civil damage claims to be filed in court against AIPAC. Stakeholders may now download released sections of the report and links to FBI files at: http://www.irmep.org/ILA/ustr/

Iran Lodges Complaint With Interpol Over U.S. ‘Assassination Threats’

From CNS NEWS.com

By Patrick Goodenough

Iran’s Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi is wanted by Argentina and the subject of an Interpol “red notice” in connection with a deadly 1994 terrorist bombing in Buenos Aires. At the time he was head of the IRGC-Qods Force. (Image: Interpol)

(CNSNews.com) – The Iranian government has lodged a complaint with Interpol regarding comments made during U.S. congressional hearings last October, including calls to assassinate top figures in Tehran’s terror-sponsoring security apparatus.

Iran’s national prosecutor general, Gholam Hossein Mohseni-Ejei, in a letter to Interpol on Monday called for “legal action” against two Americans, the official IRNA news agency reported.

Mohseni-Ejei told Iran’s Press TV that the judiciary had opened a case and was “providing more documents to the Interpol, so that the two Americans, who have threatened the Iranian commander with assassination, would be prosecuted.”

Interpol does not “prosecute” criminal suspects but it is empowered to issue “red notices” – equivalent to placing a suspect on a most-wanted list – at the request of member states or international organizations.

Queries sent to Interpol about the Iranian request brought no response by press time.

The two Americans in Iran’s sights are former U.S. Army Vice Chief of Staff Gen. Jack Keane and Foundation for Defense of Democracies Senior Fellow Reuel Marc Gerecht, a former CIA operative.

The controversy dates back to an Oct. 26 House Homeland Security Committee subcommittee hearing on “Iranian Terror Operations on American Soil,” held after the exposure of an alleged plot by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ foreign operations wing, the Qods Force, to carry out terror attacks on U.S. soil, including the assassination of the Saudi ambassador in Washington.

The IRGC-QF, led for the past decade by Gen. Ghasem Soleimani, stands accused of numerous covert terrorist activities, including supporting Shi’ite militias carry out deadly attacks against U.S. and British troops in Iraq.

In his testimony, Keane questioned the value of sanctions against Tehran and suggested that cyberattacks, covert actions and assassination would be more effective.

“Why are we permitting the Qods Force leaders, who have been organizing this killing of us for 30 years, to go around, still walking around?” he asked. “Why don’t we kill them? We kill other people who are running terrorist organizations against the United States. These guys have killed almost a thousand of us. Why don’t we kill them?”

“Iran would not look like the country it is today if they were concerned about the bottom line,” Gerecht told the panel. “So I don’t think that you’re going to really intimidate these people, get their attention, unless you shoot somebody – it’s pretty blunt, but I don’t think you get to get around it.”

If the IRGC-QF was held responsible for the foiled assassination plot, Gerecht said, then Soleimani should be held accountable – and targeted.

“Ghasem Soleimani travels a lot, he’s all over the place,” he said. “Go get him. Either try to capture him, or kill him. I think you have to send a pretty powerful message to those who have undertaken this, or I think down the road you’re asking for it. They will read this not as a response of someone who’s strong, but as a response of someone who’s weak.”

Significant covert action’

Iranian media reports on the Interpol request also referred to a letter to President Obama last month in which House Homeland Security Committee chairman Rep. Peter King and two subcommittee chairs urged steps against Tehran including “significant covert action against the Iranian regime, including against facilities and personnel responsible for killing our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq.”

At the time of the hearing, the Iranian government reacted angrily to the comments by Keane and Gerecht, summoning the Swiss ambassador – who handles matters relating to the U.S. in the absence of ties between Washington and Tehran – to protest.

Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi threatened legal action and Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi said the remarks were part of a “devilish triangle of terrorism, human rights violation and use of WMDs” by the U.S.

Ironically, while Iran is seeking Interpol’s help in this matter it has for more than four years ignored Interpol red notices issued for five senior Iranian officials, wanted by Argentina in connection with a deadly bombing in Buenos Aires Argentina 17 years ago.

One of the five is Vahidi, now defense minister but at the time of the bombing the head of the IRGC-QF.

Interpol in 2007 issued red notices for five Iranians and a Lebanese in connection with the 1994 bombing of the Argentine-Israel Mutual Association (AMIA) building in the Argentine capital.

Argentine investigators accused Iran of ordering the attack and its Lebanese ally, Hezbollah, of carrying it out. Eighty-five people were killed in the blast, the worst terrorist attack in the country’s history.

Iran has repeatedly denied any link to the AMIA bombing and refused to cooperate with Interpol.

The other subjects of the red notices are Mohsen Rezai, the then IRGC commander; Ali Fallahijan, Iran’s then intelligence chief; and Mohsen Rabbani and Ahmad Reza Asghari, two officials based at Iran’s embassy in Buenos Aires at the time of the bombing.

The wanted Lebanese was Hezbollah terrorist chief Imad Mughniyah, who was later killed in a bomb blast in Syria.

According to Interpol, red notices do not constitute arrest warrants but are “intended to help police identify or locate these individuals with a view to their arrest and extradition.”

The organization says many of its 190 member countries “consider a red notice a valid request for provisional arrest, especially if they are linked to the requesting country via a bilateral extradition treaty.”

Interpol’s constitution prohibits “any intervention or activities of a political, military, religious or racial character.”

Attempts to reach Gen. Keane for a response were not successful and a spokesman for Gerecht said he was not commenting on the issue.

Survival and The Survival Knife: Everything You Need to Know and More

From Strategic-Living

Posted on December 11, 2011 by

Survive: To remain alive or in existence; continue life or activity.

Knife: A cutting tool or instrument consisting of a sharp blade and a handle.

. . . From the American Dictionary of the English Language

6490147663 d0634c1f31 Survival and The Survival Knife: Everything You Need to Know and MoreModern communication has brought world-wide events more intimately into our lives than ever before in history.  By its very nature news focuses on the sensational, and the presentation and implication of events are so enhanced that a mudslide in Colombia burying a villages gives us the impression that we will be next.

And it is true.  Extreme natural occurrences (earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes, tornados, etc.) in distant locations seem to be on the verge of happening outside our very window.  All of them remain a threat – here, now and in the moment.

The threat of a natural disaster seems to be increasing and whether real or not, our mindset is affected because the effect of such a disaster threatens our sense of safety and security.  As technological advancements in our modern world makes our lives comfortable our sense of foreboding over a natural disaster escalates.

A flick of a switch or a press of a button and we can watch someone a half a world away make tea.  By pressing another button we can even talk to them as they heat the water.  If we do not want to watch tea steeping, we press a button and watch lava from a volcano in Hawaii pouring into the ocean.  And if we become bored with that, a turn of a switch, or press of yet another button and we can be whisked in a machine to a restaurant downtown, without significant physical effort.  While travelling, we can press more buttons to listen to music, adjust the ambient temperature, adjust our seat, and more incredibly, heat the seat.

At home, a flick of a switch and we have light at night (with degrees of intensity if we wish). We can adjust the temperature in our home effortlessly, and sit in a comfortable chair and watch the forgoing tea making, and lava flowing, and all repetitively if so desired.  All this happening through the medium (and perhaps miracle) of technology.

In some paradoxical sense, as our social and personal well-being increases, so also the anxiety and uncertainty about our life increases.  We contemplate the possible loss of our comforts.  The cataclysmic events that take place throughout the world, from which people survive and stoically endure and rebuild, may seem insurmountable and even unbearable to us in our modern world.  On our TV screens we watch how emergency services and government responses break down quickly, even in those countries we normally associate with modern technology and resources.

In our own country we have experienced massive calamities that would destabilize other societies. Comparatively though, we in America seem to be unique in our response to catastrophes.  For the most part our skill at adaptation plus our access to and movement of resources and equipment on a large scale help us cope.  This, coupled with our unique ability to organize and work together decisively to survive and recover often masks the severity of these events, and as a result we may marginalize their effect no matter how devastating.

Survival has been a common and successful theme in literature throughout history.  Stories abound about devastation visited upon the earth and society and of man’s struggle against calamities natural and manmade, seemingly beyond his control.

These stories follow a common pattern.

Man is left facing a world devastated, distorted, and degraded; the environment and society is destroyed, destabilized, or mutated, and only a small group of survivors remain, reduced to an elemental state of existence and thrust back, if you will, to a primitive condition where personal will and basic tools make the difference between survival, preservation, or extinction.

Cinema has also been effective with this theme; showing us the possible, probable, and improbable, effects of diabolical technology run amok, meteoric threats from outer space, and natural disasters of epic proportions coupled with the fulfillment of ambiguous prophecies of ancient lore.

Also popular today are movies based on actual experiences of men and women caught up in survival situations.

All this brings us to a recent interest survival; that is, the effort to maintain life when technological functions; electricity, mechanized transportation, and social services fail.  In effect, when we are suddenly booted back 200 years.

This interest is bolstered by the perception that natural disasters seem to be increasing in frequency and intensity these days.  And often, these disasters appear to overwhelm the efforts of modern resources to quickly reestablish previous conditions and essential services.

Another aspect of survival is when an individual or family are caught in a situation where they are forced to rely upon whatever materials or knowledge they possess at that moment in order to continue to live.  We have all heard, seen or read about men and women who have had to confront survival situations as a result of extreme weather conditions, sudden natural disasters, or accidents or injuries while driving, flying, diving, hiking, sailing etc.  The recent movie 127 Hours brings into sharp relief how easily we can be caught in a survival situation.  There are literally thousands of similar stories from around the world.

From factual stories to movies, personal survival has a particular appeal perhaps because it is most involves man at his or her most basic, totally dependent upon the application of his intellect, without recourse to outside guidance to manage his or her situation.

There are hundreds of survival and survival-type movies.  Here are a few we find entertaining if not informative (putting the first Rambo movie aside):

Now this article is not about movies or survival, it is about a tool.  The tool is not new, in fact it may be the oldest tool that man has utilized throughout history, and has not changed significantly over the millenniums.

The Knife As a Tool

This tool is the knife. From Folsom points, to obsidian blades sharper than a razor, to bronze, iron, and steel, the knife even more that its relatives, the sword, the spear, or the axe, has been the essential implement or tool most intimately associated with man.

In fact, optimistic anthropologists estimate the existence of knives to extend 2 million years into the past.

The basic form of the knife has not changed meaningfully over time.  It’s primary function to pierce or cut(slice) remains the same; that in itself is extraordinary given man’s tendency to want to change, adapt, modify or rearrange any contrivance, device or utensil he can get his hands on.

Myriads of survival books have been written, and the implement most commonly recommended for survival is a good knife.  Same thing in movies.  For example, the climber in the movie 127 Hours, uses his knife to free himself from the stone that has fallen and trapped him.

Since this article is about survival knives it seems appropriate to start by looking at some factors that make a knife a useful possession.  To quickly name a few attributes:

  • A knife is small compared to a saw, axe, sword, spear, etc. and therefore more easily carried on one’s person or in a portable container.

  • The shape and function of the knife is simple and does not require any complex process to put it into action.

  • Maintenance of the knife is easy, does not require elaborate care or complex or cumbersome equipment.

  • A knife possesses some versatility, it can perform a limited variety of tasks without changing its basic form.

For our needs, we are interested in a knife whose shape, size, and design is more geared toward survival or emergency situations. There are hundreds of brands of knives and knife manufacturers, all producing knives which they label “Survival Knives”.  In fact there are so many brands and styles that the average person who simply wants a knife that is sharp, easy to operate and maintain without getting into the esoteric science of types of steel, handle material, and manufacturing process, can become discouraged looking at the myriad of offerings.

So how does one choose the right survival knife?

We want to make the best choice possible, without paying an outrageous amount for what is basically a piece of metal with minimum moving parts, if any.  We want a knife that can perform one or two basic functions and their variations.  And of course, in a survival-type knife we want a sturdy implement that will hold up under some degree of stress.

Types of Survival Knives

In order to make a somewhat educated evaluation of the type of knife we want, it is worthwhile to acquire some knowledge about the variety and manufacturing of knives.

Essentially, there are two styles of knifes: folding blades, and fixed blades. Folding blades, or pocket knives, are knives where one or more blades are folded inside the handle.  Fixed blades are knives such as hunting knives, daggers, etc. These knives are large, consist of one piece, with the cutting blade at one end and the handle at the other end.

Multi-purpose knives are generally folding knives and contain various blades, and modifications, such as the well-known Swiss Army knife. The more modifications a knife has the more it is compromised in performing a knife function to its fullest.  Nevertheless these knives are useful and very popular.

For our survival knife, an important requirement is toughness; that is the blade should not break easily, it should hold a sharp edge, and it should be large and massive enough to perform tasks normally beyond its basic capability, i.e. chopping, prying, twisting.

It has been said that a Survival Knife is the single most important item in a survival inventory!

Before we get into selecting a survival-type knife we should know a little about their construction.

The fixed blade knife consists of the following:

  • Blade: the working part of the knife. The blade may be plain or serrated, or partially serrated.

  • Tang: The tang is the part of the knife that forms the handle. There are 3 types of tangs. A stick tang is a narrow ‘nail’-looking protrusion at the end of the knife where the handle is attached. This is a common and cheap way to manufacture the handle. It is not strong and is subject breaking or bending when significant stress is placed on the blade.Edge: The cutting surface of the blade.

    • A partial tang is where the tang is the approximate width of the blade but only extends part way into the handle. A drawback of this type of blade is the handle has a tendency to break above the end of the tang.

    • A full tang is where the tang is approximately the same width and thickness as the blade and runs the full length of the handle. The advantage to this is readily apparent. T he handle and the blade are strong and essentially one piece when in operation.

  • Grind: Grind is that part of the blade that is shaped or beveled down to the edge, the cross-section of the blade.

  • Spine: The spine is the back of the blade, the thickest part of the blade. It provides the strength to the blade.

  • Ricasso: The flat section of the blade at the junction of the blade and the knife guard.

  • Choil: Where the blade is unsharpened and indented where the blade meets the handle (at the ricasso).

  • Guard: A barrier between the blade and the handle. The are two common types of guards: a partial guard that extends down to protect the hand from sliding onto the blade, commonly found on hunting knives. Full guard extends out from the handle on both sides, commonly found on combat knives to protect the hand from an opponent’s blade; also found on survival-type knives.

  • Fuller: A groove along each side of the blade where stock is removed by grinding, commonly referred to as a blood groove but its real purpose is the lighten the weight of the blade.

  • Blade Profile: The shape of the blade, how it is ground and the form of the blade.

  • Straight: The blade is straight along the spine from handle to point without a curve.

  • Clipped point: The point of the blade is curved at the spine to give a dagger-like point.

  • False Edge or Reverse Edge: Where the forward top edge of the blade (spine) is thinned and left unsharpened.

Now we would like our survival knife to be sharp and to stay sharp as long as possible during work.  The process that distinguishes the sharpness of a blade is called tempering.  Tempering is a science, an art and a skill. The detailed chemical and forging factors that are involved in making the ideal blade are beyond the scope of this article, nevertheless, we want to have some idea of the type of blade and its capabilities when we examine our survival knife.

Elements of Steel

Alloys affect the durability, sharpness, strength and toughness of knife steel. Here are some important steel alloys.

  • Carbon: Knife edge steel should contain >5% carbon.

  • Chromium: Increases wear resistance, corrosion resistance. Stainless steel.

  • Molydbdenum: Prevents brittleness, maintains steels strength at high temperatures.

  • Nickel: Adds toughness

  • Tungsten: Increases wear resistance.

  • Vanadium: Contributes to hardness, and wear resistance, allows blade to take a very sharp edge.

  • Blade Steel:  Blade steel is the type of steel used in the manufacture of a knife, sword, axe, hatchet, etc.

Blades are made from a variety and mixture of materials, most common carbon steel, stainless steel, tool steel and alloy steel.

Some additional terms:

Carbides: Hard particles formed in steel when carbon bonds with iron. Carbide types influence wear resistance, and toughness in steel.

Edge stability: Ability to hold a thin highly polished edge. Finer carbide structure increases the ability of the steel to hold sharpness with acute highly polished edges.

Grain size: Steel is made up of grains, decreasing grain size means increased toughness and strength.

Strength: Different steels have different strengths, measured by a calculation called Rockwell hardness (Rc.)

Toughness: Ability to resist chipping or breakage.

Wear Resistance: Ability to resist abrasive wear. Important for slicing and cutting, especially items like rope, cardboard. Generally greater wear resistance means the steel is more difficult to sharpen, so less wear resistance may be preferred.

Steel: All steel rusts.

The type of steel your survival knife is made of is sometimes etched or stamped into the blade. Often however, there will not be a code and the most you may know is whether or not you knife is made of stainless steel.

Stainless steel is popular for knife blades because it resists rust and staining.  In addition. here are a few compositions of steels used in quality knives. The numeric codes are too numerous to include, however here are some principle ones used today.

400 series: the most popular choices for knife makers because it is easy to sharpen and rust resistant.

-420HC is used extensively by knife makers. HC stands for High Carbon.

-440A is used primarily in inexpensive stainless steel.

-440C is considered a high-end stainless steel, one of the most common alloys used for knife making.

-A2 is air hardening tool steel, frequent choice for combat knives.

-1095 most popular for knives, i.e.. Kabar.

-5160 popular with forgers, generally used in bigger blades that need more toughness.

Finally, there are some considerations to take in to account as we select our survival knife, mainly, what kind of survival are we contemplating for use with our knife?

Typically we will want an emergency tool to cut our way out of our automobile, a knife to cut firewood, skin game, build shelters, and more of what we like to call “rough” work.  So, for rough work and general survival here are some suggestions.

1.  Look for a full tang knife.

2.  Avoid hollow handles.

3.  Survival knives generally come in two types of steel, stainless or carbon. Stainless steel resists corrosion, and some say it does not hold an edge well, however, 440C, 440HC, are high-end stainless steels and popular for knife making.  Carbon steel, excellent qualities but rusts and requires maintenance. Steels such as Muela knives contain Vanadium, are excellent quality steel.  Nevertheless, steels vary by manufacturer.

4.  Blade (length): Most survival knives are between 6 to 12 inches, with 7 to 9 inches the most versatile. Any bigger and we are talking Rambo, and the knife becomes unwieldy to handle.

5.  Blade (Thickness): A good general rule is about 3/16 – 4/16 of an inch thickness. You do not want a survival knife that is “ whippy” or has a lot of flex to the blade. You need a knife that can withstand wood chopping or prying.

6.  Sheath: A belt loop, a lower attachment or hole in the bottom of the sheath for strapping the knife to your leg and permit drainage of moisture from the sheath. The strap that closes around the knife. A cross-strap, where the handle meet the sheath is considered the best.
