Last week in these pages we forecasted: that a pro-bailout party would win the Greek election; that the socialists would take a majority in the French elections; that Spain would require a significantly larger bailout to prop its banking sector up; and that the Fed would likely extend Operation Twist as a way of keeping everything moving along sideways.

Check, check, check, and check. In most areas of life, 4 for 4 is something to be happy about, but when forecasting during the death throes of the global economic system as we’ve known it, getting things right is hardly cause for celebration.

Here’s a prediction I’d like to see come true: the American public, finally realizing the extent of the depravity on Wall Street, will start to examine what really happened in the past five years.

Following the trail of trillions in bailouts and stimulus funny money to the same groups of banksters and treasurers who created the housing crisis in the first place, the public will see through to completion the criminal investigations and prosecutions of the criminals behind the subprime loan fiasco, the too-big-to-failouts, the mortgagegate scandal, the quadrillion dollar derivative black hole, and all the other frauds that have been pulled on the people of the US and the world in general over the past five years.

After which, the path will be clear to the discovery of the deeper truth behind the economic charade: the rigging of the markets via the President’s Working Group on Financial Matters; the control of both political parties by the same banking factions; the funny money dollar propped up by nothing more than the promise of the labor (and taxes) of future generations.

One can always dream…

By any reasonable standard we should already be well down the path to reaching that prediction.

The latest outrage?

A US Government Accountability Office audit showing how Fed board members funneled over $4 trillion in emergency Fed funding to their own banks and businesses at the height of the 2008 meltdown.

The funds in question included near-zero interest rate loans as well as other financing, and went straight from the Fed’s coffers to the likes of JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and GE.

The problem?

JP Morgan’s CEO, Jamie Dimon, was on the board of directors of the New York Fed when the Fed decided to use JP Morgan as a clearinghouse for emergency funds, granting it access to some $391 billion including $29 billion for the acquisition of Bear Stearns.

Goldman Sachs board member Stephen Friedman was the chairman of the NY Fed even as the Fed granted Goldman bank holding company status and access to cheap Fed loans.

Yet another NY Fed board member, Jeffrey Immelt, was coincidentally the CEO of General Electric at the same time that the Fed provided GE with $16 billion in emergency fund financing.

Can we spell conflict of interest? Evidently the Senate can, as evidenced by the Federal Reserve Independence Act, which seeks to ban employees of Fed-regulated companies from sitting on the Fed’s regional boards.

All of this may sound hopeful, but given that this conflict of interest has been built into the Federal Reserve system since its inception 99 years ago, one wonders what’s taken the Senate so long to get around to “correcting” it.

That’s a rhetorical question. Ofcourse, no one will so much as lose their bonus over the whole affair because the public that should be outraged about this is busy with more important matters, like the NBA playoffs.

And so it is with so many of the scenes that have unfolded in Washington and on Wall Street since the Greenspan-spun housing bubble popped and the unraveling of the derivatives-fueled shadow economy began in earnest.

The bankers help themselves to more and more of the trough on the taxpayers’ dime and the public allows it to happen.

With each iteration the lies become more brazen: the threats of martial law if the bailout didn’t happen; the robosigning scandal; MF Global; the JP Morgan silver and gold futures manipulation; and now the conflict of interest scandal.

The public, it seems, now fully recognizes that Congress intends to prosecute steroids in baseball much more aggressively than they will ever look into Wall Street malfeasance, and worse yet, they seem resigned to that fact.

This is why it’s so difficult to predict that the public will rise up and begin to demand accountability; it’s difficult to imagine how much worse things have to get before people stand up to the bankers.

And yet, just because it’s not happening doesn’t mean it can’t happen.

Witness what’s happening in Iceland. Earlier this month Iceland’s Supreme Court handed down a four-and-a-half year sentence to Jon Thorsteinn Jonsson and Ragnar Zophonias Gudjonsson, two former executives at Iceland’s Byr Savings Bank.

In 2008, just before the bottom fell out of the Icelandic banking system, the pair used their positions to approve an 800 million kronur loan from Byr to Exeter Holdings ehf.

That loan was used to buy out Jonsson and Gudjonsson’s shares in Byr, which were then put up for sale as collateral to guarantee the loan itself. Now the pair are preparing to spend the next half a decade behind bars.

And the Icelanders didn’t stop there. Earlier this week Olafur Thor Hauksson, the special prosecutor investigating the misdeeds of the Icelandic banking crisis, confirmed more arrests and raids.

One of those scooped up was Jon Thorsteinn Oddleifsson, the former treasury boss of Landsbanki.

Three others from Landsbanki were arrested, and raids and searches were conducted at MP Bank, Straumur (now ALMC), and even the central bank itself.

All of these banks are under investigation and more arrests are expected.

Haven’t heard about Hauksson, or the Jonsson and Gudjonsson convictions, or the prosecutor’s office’s raid of the Icelandic central bank?

Now why would that be, I wonder?

It’s almost as if the media would prefer the public didn’t hear about the round-up, prosecution and conviction of once-powerful bankers, lest they get any ideas for their own political context. Imagine that.

Still, all hope is not lost for the beginning of the Great Banker Round-up of 2012.

It seems a significant-but-underreported financial corruption case has just broken through to the mainstream.

Is it MSNBC breaking the story?

Bloomberg?

The New York Times?

Hardly.

One of the “respectable” institutions across the pond, then?

The Financial Times?

The Economist?

Nope.

It’s Matt Taibbi of Rolling Stone. He has an in-depth write up on USA v. Carollo, Goldberg and Grimm, a tale of three GE Capital employees who were just convicted for their part in a scheme that the big boys of Wall Street have been using to rip off towns and cities across America for the past decade.

In short, the defendants (Dominick Carollo, Steven Goldberg and Peter Grimm) were convicted of rigging the bids for municipal bond auctions, engineering fake auctions where pre-arranged winners were allowed to see the other bids and adjust their offer accordingly.

The three defendants in this case were just the tip of the iceberg, and several other banks were found to have taken part in the scam.

What’s interesting is the way these three were caught: they discussed the bid rigging openly in phone calls that they knew were being recorded by their own companies.

There comes a point when corruption is so endemic in a system that criminals forget that they can be prosecuted (let alone convicted) for crimes they are committing out in the open.

It should surprise no one that Wall Street reached that point long ago.

It should also surprise no one that it took a rock’n’roll music man to tell the American public about a case that the MSM business media wouldn’t touch with a ten-foot pole.

The moral of the story?

Steal a hundred dollars from a cash till at a convenience store and you’ll be locked up for years, and well you should be.

Swindle cash-strapped towns and cities by skimming untold billions off the top of the municipal bond auction market in coordinated bid-rigging with some of the biggest players in finance in a scam lasting over a decade, however, and three of the low-level participants might end up with a conviction and a few years behind bars…if they were dim-witted enough to engage in that bid-rigging openly in knowingly recorded phone calls.

If this does not instill confidence in the inherent justice of the American “justice” system, you’re getting the idea.

If it makes you question the priorities of the American public that 99.9% of the public has never even heard of the case, much less care about it (just ask the person behind you next time you’re waiting in line at the supermarket check-out if you don’t believe me), then perhaps you’re beginning to get the underlying point.

If it’s difficult for the public to even conceive of these crimes as crimes, perhaps it’s a result of the sheer grandiosity of the crimes in question.

Stalin famously said “one death is a tragedy; one million is a statistic.”

The same applies to fraud.

Ripping off your friend is a crime.

Ripping off thousands of towns and cities across the country to the tune of billions of dollars over the course of a decade is a “regrettable trading practice.”

Is this likely to change in the near future?

Are we likely to see the floodgates open and the prosecutions commence in earnest?

A special counsel appointed to start raiding and searching the offices of the Fed?

The CEOs of major banks placed under arrest?

Assuming you require an answer at all, I will merely point you to the current Attorney General and the ongoing Fast and Furious scandal for an idea of just how committed the Department of “Justice” is to living up to its name.

And so Wall Street will continue along in its sprint to the finish line of the takedown of the American economy, crying foul over the Moody’s downgrading even as billion-dollar scandal after billion-dollar scandal continues to emerge.

Economies around the globe will continue along in a similar vein, with similar tales of increasingly brazen abuse and corruption.

The EU will continue its song and dance, trying to convince the world that the Spanish banks will “only” require another 50 to 80 billion Euros to meet capital shortfalls in a worst-case scenario (it’s actually over 100 billion).

The Asian markets will tumble as the once-mighty Chinese economy begins its slowdown.

And underneath it all, behind the headlines and out of sight of a largely apathetic public, more schemes, scams, and frauds will be hatched, many in the plain light of day because this is how rampant the corruption is now.

And yet, in at least one tiny island nation way out in the North Atlantic, a special prosecutor is arresting bankers and raiding the central bank for clues to past financial crimes.

We ignore that example at our own peril.

Media Promotes Troops On Streets to “Cut Down on Crime”

Following reports last week that U.S. Army wheeled tanks would be rolling down residential streets and highways in St. Louis as part of a training program, local news media channels featured interviews with residents who praised the sight of troops on the streets as a valuable crime-fighting tool similar to that used in foreign countries.

As we reported on Friday, the exercise is part of a U.S. Army program run by military police from Fort Meade, Maryland focused around training MPs from St. Louis how to drive heavily armored vehicles “on highways and on city streets.”

{Xaniel’s Note : But why would this kind of training even be necessary,  unless the military is about to move their heavily armored vehicles into every city street and on every highway across our great nation !?  Martial Law in the works…}~~Xaniel777

According to a Fox 2 St. Louis report, “people who live and work in the area think the army training is a good idea.”( once again, all two of them)~~Xaniel777

Indeed, the report features interviews with two residents, one of whom states, “I think it’s the same way when you go to other countries…they don’t have police officers they have troops, and I think it kind of scares a lot of people…it might cut down on a whole lot of crime because they don’t know if they’re military or the police.”

“I think it’s fantastic because it might slow down some of the crime rate,” added another.

In a separate KSDK report, although acknowledging that some had expressed fears about martial law, the news channel emphasized how other residents had vowed to “stop and salute” the tanks as they rolled by.

While these news channels have framed the idea of troops on the streets as normal and reasonable, others have gone even further.

A joint drill between military and police in South Florida last month involving troops storming a building in the middle of the night, unannounced to local residents, was characterized by local media coverage not as a frightening example of how Americans are being acclimatized to accept a state of martial law but as a ‘cool tourist story’.

Why is the news media, in its editorial decision to feature interviews with residents who laud troops on the streets of America in a similar vein to despotic foreign countries, actively promoting the idea of martial law?

Having U.S. troops perform duties normally ascribed to law enforcement officers is forbidden under section 1385 of the Posse Comitatus Act, which states,

“Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army or the Air Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.”

Why is the news media giving editorial credence to something that is not only completely illegal but fundamentally anti-American and more in line with what you’d expect to see in the former Soviet Union or modern-day North Korea?

As Zero Hedge points out, the idea of troops from Maryland traveling all the way to St. Louis merely to teach other MPs to drive tanks doesn’t make sense unless one factors in the probability that this is an exercise in desensitization.

I have to say that this event, which is being labeled a “training exercise”, makes very little sense to me.

U.S. Army troops all the way from Maryland running open exercises in armored personnel carriers on the busy streets of St. Louis?

I know Maryland is a small state, but is there really not enough room at Ft. Detrick to accommodate a tank column and some troops?

Are there not entire fake neighborhood and town complexes built with taxpayer dollars on military bases across the country meant to facilitate a realistic urban environment for troops to train in?

And why travel hundreds of miles to Missouri?

At the very least, this is a massive waste of funds.

On the other hand, such an action on the part of the Department of Defense makes perfect sense if the goal is to acclimate citizens to the idea of seeing tanks and armed military acting in a policing capacity.

Just check out the two random idiots the local news affiliate picked to interview in St. Louis on the subject.

Both state that they think the exercise is a “great idea”, because having the military on the streets would help to “reduce crime”.

The U.S. Army has been reluctant to provide details of the exercise, with army offices in St. Louis and Washington, D.C. refusing to return calls.

When asked how residents should respond to the sight of armored vehicles being driven around their neighborhoods, U.S. Army Sergeant Cornelius Ivory discouraged citizens from taking video and photographs of the tanks and urged them not to get too close.

“They need to know to stay away from it,” Ivory told KSDK.

Over the course of the last 15 years, Infowars has documented numerous urban warfare training drills across the country which revolve around role playing exercises wherein troops are trained to fulfil law enforcement duties as well as incarcerating Americans in detention centers.

Exercises like the one currently taking place in St. Louis, scheduled to run until June 28, are part of the transition of the U.S. Army into a domestic police force, a role advocated by Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army, General Raymond T. Odierno in a recent Foreign Affairs piece.

Two weeks back we reported on 23 billboards being put up in the Los Angeles area calling for an end to aid to Israel.

The ads have been torn down by the billboard operator, CBS Outdoor, which is part of CBS, the media giant.

The Stop $30 Billion organization sent out this email:

On June 11 the Coalition to Stop $30 Billion to Israel had 23 billboards erected in Los Angeles and surrounding cities with the message :

“Tell Congress: Spend our Money at Home, Not on the Israeli Military” over an American flag background.

The billboards were contracted to run for four weeks, and we were preparing to put more up in other spots around the city.

We were thrilled. L.A. had never seen a campaign of this size devoted to this issue.

That win fell apart just one week later when the billboard company–CBS Outdoor, a subsidiary of CBS Corporation– took all our billboards down.

They sent a curt email telling us they were canceling our contract and refunding our money because “your organization has used the ‘CBS Outdoor’ name without permission” in email messages and in our petition thanking CBS for putting up the billboards in the first place.

Needless to say, this was a punch in the stomach.

If you support us trying to get our message of ending military aid to Israel back up on billboards in the nation’s second largest city, won’t you help flood CBS with phone calls demanding that our billboards be put back up and our contract be honored to the full term?

If there are people and organizations that disagree with our message, they have every right to buy their own billboards with a message they compose.

We stand ready to debate American carteblanche support for Israel in the free marketplace of ideas.

But that debate can only take place if companies like CBS Outdoor don’t cave when pressured by people who claim any criticism of U.S. policy favoring Israel is anti-Semitic.

I told them the German military tried to surrender in March of 1939, so all 58 million people who died in WW II were the responsibility of the Jewish led Allies.

I also told them that the Jews killed President Kennedy on the anniversary of the first meeting write the legislation for the Federal Reserve on November 22, 1910.

Another reason to kill JFK was to let Israel have nuclear weapons and to get American into the Vietnam war so she could lose the war.

And anyone with half a brain can look at the collapse of World Trade Center Tower 7 and clearly see that the windows did not melt.

But the steel girders in every floor did melt. Glass melts at 800 degrees Fahrenheit (426.67 Celsius) .

Steel girders melt at 2,200 degrees (1204.44 degrees Celsius) and concrete at 3,000 degrees (1648.89 degrees Celsius).

The Jewish media is so brazen with their lies that they do not bother to tell us how jet fuel (kerosene) which exploded in fireballs on contact with the WTC turned 500,000 tons (453,592.4 kilograms) of reinforced concrete unto dust in 2 seconds.

Please explain that lie to me again.

If I divide two hundred gallons of kerosene into 500,000 tons of steel and concrete, does that mean I can spill a gallon of kerosene on an empty 100 car parking lot at midnight, light a match and watch the flames melt the lot in seconds?

Israel did 911 with the help of Jews in America and Goyim traitors.

But more importantly it was covered up by the Jewish controlled media.

So why would Jewish leaders risk everything by killing 3,000 Americans on 911?

They want to get America to declare war on Islam.

So far the US has spent 2 trillion dollars and killed more than 2 million Muslims.

The plan is to get Americans to either evict or kill 300 million Muslims and millions of Christians who live in the lands from the Nile to the Euphrates claimed by Israel.

And what of America?

50,000 manufacturing plants and 12 million jobs have been sent overseas since the passage of the North American Free Trade Act in 1994.

Israel and the world Jewish leaders have decided to let America lose WW III so Americans cannot ask for the return of the tens of trillions of dollars that the Jewish bankers on Wall Street and in the City of London stole from them.

How can you defeat China if our supply lines stretch 8,000 miles to China financed on a dodgy credit card?

The 2012 Bilderberg meeting of Jews,  Chinese  and assorted traitors  has agreed to devalue the dollar so that your after tax wages will be cut in half.

JP Morgan has 72 trillion dollars in derivatives (bets in the markets) that they expect taxpayers to pay off when, not if, interest rates rise.

A guaranteed outcome of dollar devaluation is  that hyperinflation will rip through America.

These plans sound insane and self-destructive to a Goy of even average intelligence.

Jewish leaders are capable of getting us all killed.

Think what it means to be an educated Jew who knows that there was no Holocaust, that the Jewish leaders killed more than a hundred million Gentiles in the last century and that their leaders are planing to starve half a billion non-Jews to death in the next few years.

It was possible to be Jewish and to get away with it 50 years ago but no longer.

I see no mass movement of resistance amongst the Jewish people to stop the insanity of their leaders.

My conclusion is that the Jews have a stranglehold on the Foundations, the media, the governments political processes, the courts and the banking system so there is no possibility of a peaceful change of government.

Jewish men arrested in Israel for defacing the national Holocaust memorial with anti-Zionist graffiti

Three ultra-Orthodox Jewish men have been arrested in Israel, suspected of defacing the national Holocaust memorial with anti-Zionist graffiti.

One of the slogans daubed in paint on the walls of the memorial read: “If Hitler had not existed, the Zionists would have invented him.”

The suspects have admitted vandalising the site, a police spokesman said.

Suspicion for the attack had fallen on radical ultra-Orthodox Jews who oppose the creation of the state of Israel.

One of the slogans, all in Hebrew, was signed “world ultra-Orthodox Jewry”.

Another read: “Thanks Hitler for the wonderful Holocaust you organised for us. Only thanks to you we got a state from the UN.”

A third went: “Honourable government of Poland, stop allowing the Zionists to hold manipulative ‘memorial’ ceremonies in Auschwitz.”

Some ultra-Orthodox Jews believe a Jewish state can be established only after the coming of the Messiah, and that the state of Israel is therefore illegitimate.

A small number of extremists believe the myth that Israel’s founders conspired with Hitler to bring about the Jewish state.

In a statement, Yad Vashem Chairman Avner Shalev said: “I believe that it was important to know the identities of those who spray-painted the graffiti.

The suspects are extremist ultra-Orthodox Jews, anti-Zionists, who are on the fringes of society, and do not represent the majority who respect the memory of the Holocaust.”

Yad Vashem was established in 1953 and commemorates,( the six million Jews ??), murdered by the Nazis during World War II.

The three suspects are to appear before a Jerusalem court later on Tuesday.

A notoriously racist rabbi who once called on Israel to slaughter a million Palestinian civilians has been appointed to head a supervisory committee for Magen David Adom (MDA) – Israel’s equivalent of the Red Cross and Red Crescent.

A notoriously racist rabbi who once called on Israel to slaughter a million Palestinian civilians has been appointed to head a supervisory committee for Magen David Adom (MDA) – Israel’s equivalent of the Red Cross and Red Crescent.

 Haaretz reported that under pressure from ultra-Orthodox Jewish groups MDA decided to set up a rabbinical committee to dictate religious guidelines – including gender relations – for volunteers in the rescue service.

The committee is headed by Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, the Chief Rabbi of Safad, whose salary is paid by the Israeli government. Eliyahu has a long, well-documented history of extreme racism and has called for violence against Palestinians.

Since 2006, Magen David Adom – whose name means Red Star of David – has been a full member of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and is Israel’s internationally recognized agency for disaster management, ambulance service and blood banks.

The organization also raises tax-exempt donations in the United States through the American Friends of Magen David Adom.

‘Kill a million’

1. In 2007, Eliyahu advocated mass slaughter of Palestinians in order to deter rocket fire from Gaza, while defending a ruling by his late father that Israel was permitted to indiscriminately kill civilians. “If they don’t stop after we kill 100, then we must kill a thousand,” Shmuel Eliyahu advised, adding, “And if they do not stop after 1,000 then we must kill 10,000. If they still don’t stop we must kill 100,000, even a million. Whatever it takes to make them stop.”

2. Eliyahu has stated that the “seducing” of Jewish girls was “another form of war” by Arab men.

3. In 2010, Eliyahu and other state-employed rabbis  issued a ruling telling Jews not to sell or rent property to members of the country’s Palestinian Arab minority, who make up a fifth of the population.

4. Eliyahu has led efforts to prevent Arab students from living in Safad, stating, “When a non-Jew moves in, residents begin to worry about their children, about their daughters. Many Arab students have been known to date Jewish girls.”

5. Eliyahu has publicly denigrated Arabs and Muslims, stating, “whenever I’m interviewed I ask the interviewer if they would want an Arab to live in their neighborhood.”

Violating neutrality and respect for international humanitarian law

As a member organization of ICRC, Magen David Adom is presumably committed to the mission of the ICRC:

The work of the ICRC is based on the Geneva Conventions of 1949, their Additional Protocols, its Statutes –

and those of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement –

and the resolutions of the International Conferences of the Red Cross and Red Crescent.

The ICRC is an independent, neutral organization ensuring humanitarian protection and assistance for victims of war and armed violence.

It takes action in response to emergencies and at the same time promotes respect for international humanitarian law and its implementation in national law.

What could be more contrary to that mission than Israel’s MDA appointing Shmuel Eliyahu who not only defends and advocates mass, indiscriminate violence against civilians, but is a racist par excellence?

It should be recalled that there was a years long campaign by Israel and Zionist organizations to get MDA accepted into the ICRC.

If MDA does not completely dissociate itself from, and condemn racist inciters like Eliyahu, perhaps it should be expelled.

Moreover, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society should review any cooperation with MDA
