Cowardice Is Destroying America

From the Trenches World Report

Posted on September 15, 2012 by # 1 NWO Hatr

Washington’s Blog

America was founded on courage.

For example, I’ve read a number of biographies of George Washington, who was actually a horrible general.

Washington’s early campaigns were disastrous, and the entire Revolutionary War was almost lost due to Washington’s early miscalculations (for example, his first major battle was fought from a low, exposed position, so that the British forced a surrender by seizing the high ground).

But Washington was brave

He always rode with his soldiers into battle at the front of the line, even when there were waves of incoming cannon balls being hurled in his direction.

(Because Washington was unusually tall for his day, that made him an easy target)

Washington’s courage – and his willingness to consistently fight on the front lines with his men – was one of the main factors in the success of the American Revolution.

The courage of the men at Valley Forge was also a turning point in the war.  Slogging on through the dead of winter without shoes inspired a nation.

On the other hand, cowardice makes people stupid and docile.

Fear of Hurting the Big Banks Has Destroyed the Economy

The New York Times wrote in 2008:

“The rescue is being sold as a must-have emergency measure by an administration with a controversial record when it comes to asking Congress for special authority in time of duress.”***

Mr. Paulson has argued that the powers he seeks are necessary to chase away the wolf howling at the door: a potentially swift shredding of the American financial system.

That would be catastrophic for everyone, he argues, not only banks, but also ordinary Americans who depend on theirfinances to buy homes and cars, and to pay for college.

Some are suspicious of Mr. Paulson’s characterizations, finding in his warnings and demands for extraordinary powers a parallel with the way the Bush administration gained authority for the war in Iraq.

Then, the White House suggested that mushroom clouds could accompany Congress’s failure to act. This time, it is financial Armageddon supposedly on the doorstep.

“This is scare tactics to try to do something that’s in the private but not the public interest,” said Allan Meltzer, a former economic adviser to President Reagan, and an expert on monetary policy at the Carnegie Mellon Tepper School of Business.

“It’s terrible.”

Indeed, Congressmen Brad Sherman, Congressman Paul Kanjorski and Senator James Inhofe all say that the government used scare tactics by warning of martial law if Tarp wasn’t passed:

In addition, Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner and others in government made it official policy not to prosecute (and see this) – or even to disclose Wall Street Fraud.

Rep. Brad Sherman Martial Law

Pulitzer prize-winning journalist Ron Suskind quotes Geithner as saying:

The confidence in the system is so fragile still… a disclosure of a fraud… could result in a run, just like Lehman.

Former IMF economist Simon Johnson notes:

The main motivation behind the administration’s indulgence of serious criminality evidently is fear of the consequences of taking tough action on individual bankers.

The Obama administration is , and the government’s entire strategy now – as during the S&L crisis – is to cover up how bad things are.

Wall Street fraud caused the Great Depression and the current financial crisis.

Top economists and financial experts agree that the economy will never recover unless Wall Street fraud is prosecuted.

Because of the cowardice of the government and the people to get tough and throw Wall Street fraud-mongers in jail (or  even to shut off the spigot of never-ending bailouts), our economy has been destroyed.

Fear of Terror Has Destroyed Our Liberties

Sociologists say that fear of terrorism makes people blindly accept false justifications for war.

That is why false flag terrorism – which governments around the world admit that they carry out – has been so effective for 2,000 plus years in allowing government leaders to convince the people that we should go to war.

Government officials say that 9/11 was a state-sponsored attack.

Some say that it was Iran, Saudi Arabia, the U.S., Israel or other countries which backed the attack.

9/11 was – at the least – criminal incompetence and then obstruction of justice, and blowback for U.S. support of Al Qaeda over many decades.

At worst, it was false flag terror by the U.S.

Whatever it was, our failure to be brave enough to look without blinking has ruined our country.

Specifically, top economists say that endless war bankrupts a nation.

For example, Nobel prize winning economist Joe Stiglitz says that the $3-5 trillion spent on the Iraq war alone has been very bad for the American economy. See thisthis and this.

The endless wars have also been a main component of America’s soaring debt:

TAX CUTS DEBT Cowardice Is Destroying America

And huge debtexert a very real drag on the economy.

We wouldn’t have launched the war against Iraq – or the endless panoply of wars throughout the Middle East and North America – if 9/11 had actually been in investigated.

The police state also started in 2001.

Specifically, on 9/11, Vice President Dick Cheney initiated Continuity of Government Plans that ended America’s constitutional form of government (at least for some undetermined period of time.)

On that same day, a national state of emergency was declared …and that state of emergency has continuously been in effect up until today.

It is beyond dispute that 9/11 was entirely foreseeable, but – due to the extreme negligence and incompetence or lack of caring of the Bush administration (remember, I’m not getting into any other theories in this post) it wasn’t stopped.

Even the chair of the 9/11 Commission said that the attack was preventable.

If there had been a real 9/11 investigation, the government’s  criminal incompetence (or worse) and idiotic policies of backing Al Qaeda would have come to light.

And Americans would have learned that terrorism can largely be prevented if the military and intelligence officers are simply allowed to do their job.

Americans would have learned through any real 9/11 investigation that Cheney’s negligence and mucking around in what should have been the generals’ jobs was partly responsible for allowing 9/11 to happen (Cheney was in charge of all of America’s counter-terrorism exercises, activities and responses on 9/11. See this Department of State announcement and this CNN article.   He messed up.).

In other words, a real 9/11 investigation would have shown Americans that 9/11 should of, could of, and would have been stopped – and that America can protect itself against future terrorist attacks – simply by playing goalie well in our country.

And Americans – instead of being scared into immobility – would have been mad at ourgovernment for dropping the ball.

And we would have demanded accountability and effective service from our elected officials.

(Indeed, experts have repeatedly demonstrated that fear of terror makes people stupid … and makes them willing to accept a loss of liberty and other abuses they would never otherwise accept.)

Instead – as the 9/11 Commission itself states – there was criminal obstruction of justice and a whitewash of the investigation.

See thisthisthisthis, and this.

The Road Not Taken

Americans were led to believe that Al Qaeda was going to get us unless we took the fight to the Middle East and North Africa.

The administration pretended that Saddam Hussein had a hand in 9/11 – one of the main justifications for that war.

Had a real 9/11 investigation been conducted before we launched the Iraq war, it would have taken away one of the two main rationales for that war.

(The FBI was also instructed to blame the anthrax attacks on Al Qaeda, and high-level government officials pointed towards Iraq as the source of the anthrax, even though there was absolutely no basis for those claims. But that’s another story.)

Dan Rather was right when he wrote:

We have been so afraid; so hell bent on destroying enemies … both foreign and domestic … we have hurt ourselves and our democracy.

Jimmy Carter’s National Security Adviser also told the Senate in 2007 that the war on terror is so overblown that it is “a mythical historical narrative”.

And as I noted in 2008:

Former deputy national intelligence officer for transnational threats, a 23-year senior CIA analyst, who “drafted or was involved in many of the government’s most senior assessments of the threats facing our country [and who] devoted years to understanding and combating the jihadist threat”, writes today in the Washington Post that the neocons have whipped us into an irrational fear of the terrorism.

In reality, “Osama bin Laden and his disciples are small men and secondary threats whose shadows are made large by our fears” and our leaders.

This is no surprise to anyone who has been paying attention. The BBC produced a documentary called The Power of Nightmares in 2005 that showed that politicians were greatly exaggerating the terrorist threat for political ends.

And unfortunately, many in government have intentionally whipped up fear in the American public for their own political purposes. For example, FBI agents and CIA intelligence officials, constitutional law expert professor Jonathan Turley, Time Magazine, Keith Olbermann and the Washington Post have all said that U.S.government officials “were trying to create an atmosphere of fear in which the American people would give them more power”.

And former Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge admits that he was pressured to raise terror alerts to help Bush win reelection. Fear sells.

And because 9/11 was never really investigated, the government – instead of doing the things which could actually make us safer – are doing things which increase the risk of terrorism.

As such, the threats from terrorism form even more of a “justification” for a suspension of our Constitutional rights.

The failure to investigate 9/11 has bankrupted America financially and morally, and has allowed us to stand idly by while our liberty has been destroyed.

What Do Psychiatrists, Psychologists and Spiritual Leaders Say About Fear?

Fear is not a Christian value.  Indeed, real men (and women) – and all real Christians – stand up to tyrants.

Courage is being scared … but facing things anyway.

Let’s take 9/11 as an example.

Numerous mental health experts – including the following list – say that fear of questioning the government’s cartoonish “we couldn’t have foreseen this or done anything to protect the homeland” version of 9/11 is an unhealthy, fear-based delusion which has led to an authoritarian regime in the U.S.:

  • Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Duke University Medical Center, as well as Radiology, at Duke University Medical Center D. Lawrence Burk, Jr., MD

  • Board of Governors Distinguished Service Professor of Psychology and Associate Dean of the Graduate School at Rutgers University Barry R. Komisaruk

  • Distinguished Professor in the Department of Mental Health Law and Policy, Professor of Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine and Distinguished Professor of Global Health in the College of Public Health, University of South Florida, Michael D. Knox

  • Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Laura Schafer

  • Professor Emeritus, Psychology and Neuroscience, Beckman Institute, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Michael Gabriel

  • Former Chief Mental Health Coordinator and Director of Manpower Development and Training, Massachusetts Department of Mental Health, and Lecturer in Psychology, Boston University Herbert Hoffman

  • Professor of Psychology, University of Chicago and Northwestern University Jack Sawyer

  • Professor Emeritus of Psychology at California Institute of Integral Studies Ralph Metzner

  • Professor Emeritus, Psychology, University of Marburg Gert Sommer

  • Professor of Psychology, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Ralph Hood

  • Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, Jefferson Medical College. Former Major, U.S. Army Medical Corps, Vietnam Veteran 7 years service, Jon Bjornson, MD

  • Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Nebraska and licensed Psychologist Ronald Feintech

In other words, ministers, priests, psychiatrists, psychologists, trauma experts, sociologists and other mental health experts say that failure to stand up and face our deepest fears is destroying us as individuals … and as a nation.

More sniper ammunition being ordered by DHS – Who are the targets?

From PrisonPlanet.com

James Smith
Prepper Podcast
September 14, 2012

Surprise! The DHS Immigration and Customs Enforcement have requested more ammunition.

However, it is the type of ammunition and not necessarily the quantity that is troubling.

First on the agenda is the .223 rifle ammunition.

Just a measly 40 million rounds in the first year, and another 160 million rounds in the following four years. 200,00 million rounds in total.

You know, just enough to make you cringe thinking that some government office that is not military has more ammunition than you do.

The .223 caliber round is a decent hunting round, but that is not the rounds to be concerned about.

The .308 rounds should have you a bit concerned. Quite a bit concerned.

Why the .308? Because the same folks at DHS think they need two types of .308 caliber rounds.

Blank ammunition and 168 grain hollow point boat tail ammunition.

The blank ammunition will be spread to five different locations in the American south east and in Puerto Rico.

The regular ammunition will be spread all over the US in a variety of

Blank ammunition? Why blank ammunition?

Well, as it turns out blank ammunition is fantastic for putting on a show.

Blank ammunition is used in theatrics (hmmm?) but also is used to help teach new shooters to develop trigger and breathing control.

Nevertheless, have no fear; DHS only needs 25,000 rounds to develop good sniper skills.

Because, they have also ordered 176,000 rounds of the .308 caliber hollow point boat tail (HPBT) rounds.

Boat tail ammunition is incredibly accurate ammunition. From the legal opinion from the US Navy JAG in support of using hollow point ammunition:

[?]marksmanship training units have established unequivocally the superior accuracy of the M852 [M852 is the Sierra MatchKing 168-grain match grade boat tail, ogival spitzer tip bullet with an open tip].

Army tests noted a 36% improvement in accuracy with the M852 at 300 meters, and a 32% improvement at 600 yds; Marine Corps figures were twenty-eight percent accuracy improvement at 300 m, and 20% at 600yds.

The National Guard determined that the M852 provided better bullet groups at 200 and 600 yards under all conditions than did the M118. [FNa1]

The good news

One of the theories posited by so many commentators is the extremely large amount of ammunition purchased by the DHS.

According to the same legal opinion, it is because trained soldiers are horrible sharpshooters:

Statistics from past wars suggest that this probability figure may be optimistic.

In World War II, the United States and its allies expended 25,000 rounds of ammunition to kill a single enemy soldier.

In the Korean War, the ammunition expenditure had increased four-fold to 100,000 rounds per soldier; in the Vietnam War, that figure had doubled to 200,000 rounds of ammunition for the death of a single enemy soldier.

The risk to noncombatants is apparent.

Working the math out, that comes to only 7,600 people that DHS wants to kill, using the Korean War numbers. What luck!

The bad news

However, all of the ?sniper? grade ammunition is being used by trained, or in-the-process-of-being-trained snipers.

The same legal opinion found that:

In contrast, United States Army and Marine Corps snipers in the Vietnam War expended 1.3 rounds of ammunition for each claimed and verified kill, at an average range of six hundred yards, or almost twice the three hundred meters cited above for combat engagements by the average soldier.

Some verified kills were at ranges in excess of 1000 yards.

This represents discrimination and military efficiency of the highest order, as well as minimization of risk to noncombatants.

Utilization of a bullet that increases accuracy, such as the MatchKing, would further diminish the risk to noncombatants.

And that math comes out to be 135,384 potential kills for the snipers to make, using the 176,000 rounds of ammunition.

How well does the boat tail ammunition make the sniper?

The following are recommendations of the MatchKing ammunition. Another review can be found here.

Still the best – 12/5/2010

Reviewer: mcgulfdrvr

I made a 4 shot 1/4 MOA open sight group @ 200M yesterday 12/4/10 at Okeechobee Shooting Sports with a NM M1A, using a fwd rest, on a 12″ Dirty Bird Target.

I purchased and shot for comparison; 308 SSA 175 Gr match ammo, Buffalo Bore .308 175 Gr. “Sniper”,7.62 AE 168 Gr. M1A, and another Mfr.’s 7.62 M118LR in this rifle, a scoped M40 and a Remington 700TWS on the same range with the same results.

Nothing comes close to the M118 offered here. Period.

And this is a fuller explanation of why boat tail ammunition is used:

The guys did get it right that it is a bullet with a very, very small hollow point and a taper at the end that resembles the stern of a sailboat.

When a bullet flies though the air it needs to pierce the air in front – and at speeds faster than 1080 feet per second they create a vacuum on the end.

The vacuum is a force that pulls the bullet in the wrong dircton……. having a boat tail creates a smaller vacuum and the bullet looses speed at a slower rate.

HPBT bullets have a very thin copper jacket.

They are not designed for hunting because they radically expand when the hit anything.

Send a HPBT into the rear quarter of a deer – it will expand and turn the whole quarter into a black jelly plasma – shell shock meat – totally useless.

In the hands of a skilled marksman – you can use a HPBT for a broadside shot at great distance – works awesome on caribou at 500 yards.

In the hands of military sniper – the design of a HPBT allows them to hit targets beyond the normal 600 yard limit that hunting bullets all have.

HPBT are pretty useless against light armor – FMJ will penetrate 2x to 4x more.

Bullets come in two flavors – ones with a cannelure, ones without.

We use a taper crimp to hold the non-cannuleure to the brass for use in semi-auto rifles……….and a roll crimp on bullets with a cannelure for sue in semi-auto rifles.

The cannelure is just a small series of ridges and have nothing what so ever to do with penetration.

One last tidbit. HPBT bullets have a special speed where the perform unusually well – 2850fps – you will notice that nearly all loaded ammo with these bullets from 308 to 50BMG go this speed.

Hope this helps.  http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110706185608AA6F4lK

As long as you are aware of what is being purchased, and for what probable reason it may be purchased for, you will not be taken by surprise when it happens.

The DHS needs to have an honest and open conversation with America as to the Department’s intentions with the ammunition.

Civilian, i.e. The Public, should have complete oversight of the actions of DHS and the agencies within its purview.

Anything less is a step towards tyranny.

Netanyahu, Not Iran, Is An Existential Threat To Israel

One ex-Israeli official put it best. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu seems to be “going berserk.”

Netanyahu is now demanding that the United States set a “red line” that, once crossed, will automatically initiate a U.S. attack on Iran.

Bibi doesn’t even bother to pretend that war with Iran is in the interests of the U.S.

He just wants the U.S. to recognize his red line and give him his war trigger.

And he is increasingly fearful that he won’t get it.

I think his latest tantrum was produced by last week’s New York Times op-ed by its former executive editor, Bill Keller.

He wrote that even if Iran develops nuclear weapons, they would not necessarily pose a significant threat to Israel, let alone to the United States.

The Iranians are not insane.

In fact the Middle East leader who behaves most irrationally is Netanyahu himself.

Keller suggested what many Israelis say privately: this whole Iran scare is not about nukes per, but about the fear that a nuclear Iran jeopardizes Israel’s geostrategic supremacy.

Bibi fears that he would lose his ability to do whatever he wants, to whomever he wants, whenever he wants.

Bomb Gaza. Bomb Lebanon. Bomb relief ships. Bomb whatever.

It is all about regional hegemony. After all, Israel’s military can more than handle Iran and everyone understands that. Iran certainly does.

That is why Israelis do not share Netanyahu’s enthusiasm for war.

Not only do Israelis not want war, they rightly fear that an attack on Iran would result in thousands of missiles being launched against Israeli population centers by Hezbollah and Hamas.

Even though Defense Minister Ehud Barak promises that only 500 Israeli civilians would be killed (how did he come up with that number?), Israelis do not want their kids to be among them.

None of this seems to matters to Netanyahu, who acts less as an Israeli patriot than as a U.S. neoconservative.

That is why he is the first Israeli prime minister not even to go through the motions of serious negotiations.

He is not interested.

Fortunately, President Obama — like President George W. Bush before him — is standing in the way of an Iran war.

Netanyahu’s plan requires the U.S. to jump in to bail Israel out once it begins a war it cannot finish.

But Obama, like Bush, won’t permit it.

So what is Netanyahu to do? He will defeat President Obama (at least in his dreams) and bring in a Mitt Romney under the sway of Sheldon Adelson.

He believes Romney would go to war and so he is engineering conflict with the America to tip the election.

Forget the fact that he can’t do it.

The percentage of Jews who vote based on Israel’s perceived desires is 3% at best, and not even that 3% necessarily believes war with Iran is in Israel’s interests.

Nonetheless, that is what Bibi’s whole game is about.

The irony is that it is unlikely a President Romney would go to war either. With the military opposed, one would have to imagine that Romney would risk American interests (most importantly, young lives) to please a donor and the same neocon claque that led Bush to war with Iraq.

I mean, really. Would a new Republican president want to begin his term with another Middle East war?

Dream on, Bibi.

The only force in the United States that favors war with Iran is the Israel lobby (AIPAC and its satellite organizations), neoconservative pundits and some Christian rightists (although the latter are more enthusiastic about going to war against a woman’s right to choose and gay rights than against Iran).

In short, war with Iran could destroy Romney’s presidency and he surely knows it.

The bottom line then is that all Netanyahu is accomplishing with his ugly saber-rattling and interference in our election is threatening the survival of the US-Israel relationship especially if, as seems likely, Obama wins.

Don’t kid yourself. No matter what Obama says publicly, he cannot stand Netanyahu.

Privately, it is hard to imagine that even Republicans like seeing the their country being treated with such contempt by a tiny country we sustain with $3.5 billion a year in aid (exempt from all cuts, unlike every other program) and UN vetoes that make America look like Israel’s satellite.

The only thing that keeps everyone quiet is intimidation and campaign contributions.

That won’t last forever, particularly as younger American Jews have moved toward indifference to Israel due to the policies it has pursued since an Israeli fanatic killed Yitzhak Rabin.

Israelis need to wake up. I.L. Kenen, the founder of AIPAC, said the United States was Israel’s defense line.

It is. And Bibi is jeopardizing it.

Binyamin Netanyahu poses an existential threat to the Jewish state.

Those who claim to care about Israel need to speak out.

Will we really allow this rightist egomaniac to destroy a 2000 year old dream?
