Run A Private Army

Have you ever thought of running your own private “army”? Whether it’s to brush up on your survival skills, protect your community, or just get out and have some fun learning new things, running a militia can be a great way to socialize and improve yourself, both physically and mentally.

This lens sets out the basic requirements for starting and running a militia, including where to get training materials, how to find and train fellow members of your militia, what kind of things your militia can do, and important things you have to keep in mind. I hope that when you’re done reading this lens you’ll have a new found appreciation for the militia and will want to form one!

Establishing an Identity

The first part of establishing a militia is figuring out why it is that you want to have one. Part of this process is developing an identity. To do that, you should come up with:

a) A name

b) A logo

c) A slogan (optional)

For instance, one militia out of New York I found while Google-searching chose the name “Fort Eagle Militia”, and had a picture of an eagle as their logo. While they had no slogan, they did have a several line quote as their mantra.

Deciding on a name and logo can be difficult. I recommend you take some time and choose something that will be meaningful to you, and memorable.

Your Identity

Make sure you pick a name that’s meaningful to you, and easy to remember.

Finding Members

Finding members for your group can be easy or difficult, depending on the social and political climate at the time, and your group’s mission. For instance, if you’re starting a neighborhood watch after some high-profile break-ins or vandalism, it might be very easy to find members. On the other hand, if you’re starting a group to overthrow the government (which I’m sure is illegal), it will probably be much harder to find members.

Here’s some tips to help you:

a) Be honest about your group’s intentions. Nobody will stay if you tell them they’ll be tracking child predators and you have them following the delivery truck of a new video game you want.

b) Work around people’s schedules. Everyone has a life, and if your meetings or missions are too frequent or incompatible with their schedules you’ll get no where.

c) Take advantage of social networking. If you have friends who might be interested in starting a group, start with them. They all know people, so let in people who have been vetted by them. And those people know people.

Eventually, you’ll have enough people to begin running missions or operations. But first, you’ll need to get some training.

Your friends are your best choice for your starting membership base.

Militia Training Montage

This is a video montage of several militias training.

Declaring Goals

At this stage it is also important that you determine your goals. Are you going to be running a Civil Defense Organization, a revolutionary group, an armed militia, or a neighborhood watch? Each of these groups has different methods, training, goals and purposes.

A civil defense organization is primarily concerned with things such as war (both conventional and nuclear), natural disasters, and other emergency situations that might affect a country. Learning how to prepare and deal with these situations is the primary focus of a civil defense organization.

A revolutionary group is looking for just that — a revolution. In this context, they’re not armed, but they do things such as produce newsletters, hold rallies and demonstrations, and otherwise try to sway popular opinion towards their cause.

An armed militia is a group who trains with the express purpose of engaging an enemy in combat. They have a clear and defined goal and prepare to ensure that when their country, city, or home is under attack they’ll be able to respond properly.

And finally, a neighborhood watch is a group of citizens who patrol neighborhood to ensure that suspicious activity is reported to law enforcement, with the aim of preventing crimes.

Never lose sight of your goal. It can change, but your missions should always focus on it.

How To Train

Training can be simple or complex. Depending on the type of group you’re trying to start, you’ll need different skill sets. A civil defense group is going to need emergency preparedness information, while an armed militia will probably need hand-to-hand combat, and a neighborhood watch needs to develop observation and patrolling skills.

One of the best places to get training is the US Army field manuals, and Canadian military documents. These teach a variety of military subjects in simple language, and can be excellent for subjects of relevance. The US Army manuals are in the public domain, and while the Canadian manuals are under Copyright, they are released freely on the Internet.

Here are some examples of useful manuals for each type of organization. Depending on your group, you may find that some from each group are relevant to your interests and goals:

FM 3-9 Potential Military Chemical-Biological Agents and Compounds

FM 21-11 First Aid for Soldiers

FM 21-76 Survival

B-GL-323-003 Basic Cold Weather Training

FM 3-05-30 Psychological Operations

FM 2-22-9 Open Source Intelligence

FM 6-22 Leadership

B-GL-300-005 Land Force Information Operations

B-GL-357-002-FP-001 Human Intelligence Operations

FM 3-05-130 Special Operations Forces – Unconventional Warfare

FM 21-75 Combat Skills of the Soldier

FM 21-150 Combatives

FM 5-33 Terrain Analysis

B-GL-382-001 Army Fitness Manual

FM 31-21 Special Forces Operations

B-GL-364-001-FP-001 – Land Force Countersurveillance

B-GL-382-003 PT-Z01 Combat Fitness Program

B-GL-392-004 Patrolling

FM 19-10 Law Enforcement Operations

As these documents are designed for those in the military, it would be wise for someone with military experience or someone willing to do a lot of research go through the documents, and to either write a condensed version with just the important details, or to create a reading list of just the pages and documents that they feel will be relevant for the group.

Once you’ve got the documents, you’ll need to come up with a time and place you can practice your new skills. Performing pop quizzes on the material can be helpful, but nothing replaces solid practice. Make sure to follow safety procedures and wear proper equipment when dealing with things such as hand-to-hand combat.

Military manuals are an excellent source of free training material.

Field Medicine Video

This is a video showing clips from a field medicine class.

Running Missions

Now that you’ve got yourself trained up, it’s time to begin running missions. It would be wise to start with simulated missions (especially if you’re in a civil defense organization or a militia where you won’t see a real emergency for a while.) These can be as simple as a patrol around the neighborhood in a bio-suit to simulate a chemical attack, or as complex as traveling from one side of your city to the other within a certain amount of time to simulate being attacked and needing to escape.

You should have three things when you go to plan a mission:

a) A goal of exactly what you’ll be doing

b) A “Plan A” and a “Plan B”, should things go wrong.

c) A “rehearsal” where everyone dictates exactly when, why, and how they’ll be contributing.

This final point is very important. People need to know what they’re supposed to do when things happen, and what to do is things go wrong. It’s no sense training for an earthquake if your members are unable to help once the communication lines are cut, for instance.

After each mission, go over what went right and what went wrong, and then make sure those mistakes are incorporated into your training. This is why militaries use Soldiers who have recently returned from combat as instructors, as they “know the enemy”, and what not to do.

Having a pre-mission rehearsal and an after-action report allows you to make the most of your mistakes.

Things to Keep in Mind

There are several things you’ll need to keep in mind when running your militia.

a) You can’t break the law. You have to follow all rules and regulations regarding your group. For instance, possessing handguns or rifles in Canada for self-defense is illegal, so you wouldn’t be able to have an “armed militia” that is armed with guns.

b) You have to be worried about people who don’t understand your group’s goals trying to break it up. Read up on counterintelligence, and how to compartmentalize information. A good introduction to the field of intelligence (which involves analyzing information for its value), and the field of counterintelligence (which involves preventing enemies from getting and undermining your intelligence) is my own lens, Intelligence.

c) Never lose sight of your goal. If you’re training for natural disasters or emergencies, train for that. Don’t let a romantic idea of being a “guerilla fighter” or a revolutionary sway you into potentially illegal goals.

d) Realize that the police will be placing you under surveillance if they believe you have negative goals. It’s your job to network with the police and make sure they understand you’re not out to hurt anyone.

e) Have fun, of course. There’s nothing more fun than training new skills, boosting your confidence, and knowing you’re prepared to deal with whatever might come your way.

WOW:The Domestic Terror Threat From Sovereign Citizen Groups?? If this were really true…

The safe Family gun guide 1

If this were really true :

Then the men and women on Law Enforcement and other government types should be sh#tting their pants.

Some federal and local law enforcement groups view the domestic terror threat from   sovereign citizen groups as equal to — and in some cases greater than — the threat from
foreign Islamic terror groups, such as ISIS, that garner more public attention.

Seems to me to be a whole bunch of nothing…..right now. These folks aren’t a danger….yet. Not unless you try to take their country from them. Steal too many of their freedoms? Yeah, then you can worry.

They won’t be a danger to their fellow citizens, but to the government that tries to steal their freedoms?Your fear of right wing people is, at best, overblown….. For now.

You really have nothing to worry about.

Here’s the thing, Boys and Girls: If this were true, and the “Right Wing Extremists” were really a danger, then you folks had better get your worldly affairs in order….’Cause when they decide it is time (and I know and interact with a fair number of those folks you label “Right Wing Extremists”) then they are gonna come, and for you, they are gonna bring screaming bloody hell with ’em…..

See, right now, they are mad, but they aren’t doing anything. They are, for the most part, law abiding citizens who wish to hurt no one. But, like a hornet’s nest, don’t poke ’em either……Yes, you think the cops and DHS folks have all the good toys to keep them in line.

But Here Is The Thing:  Thanks to the (so far, functioning) Second Amendment, they have just as good tools as your boys. And they USE ’em…and practice with ’em. And know HOW to use them.  They do it for FUN. They practice and train a LOT.

Not like your boys, who practice once or twice a year. The difference between a Deer rifle and a Sniper rifle is mostly a can of black spray paint and the choice of target.

Men are a bit larger targets than Deer…..but they tend to be no harder to kill or injure. There are more “Assault Weapons” in the hands of those “Right Wing Extremists” and their acquaintances than there are DHS and other available “trained” armed forces….combined.

I believe that there are more deer rifles in the hands of hunters in Minnesota and Wisconsin and Virginia than there are M-4’s in the *ENTIRE* US armed forces. Now, many citizens won’t fight. Many will….More will, once the balloon goes up. Lots will support them with food and logistics.  And if you try and stop their flow of ammo, they’ll get it from your boys once things start…..

They’ll have (or improvise) better armor, better explosives, and better weapons. They already have better tactics and they know their Areas of Operations better.

They will scour the battlefields and take the equipment you leave behind and use it against you. And they’ll have the sympathies of the rest of the citizens.

The harder you try to stop them, the more converts you’ll make. These people are smarter and know more than your officers…

They work at other jobs and “Play” with weapons and such in their spare time…They can up-armor a truck in a few hours, create explosive devices and the means of delivery from things you wouldn’t believe….. and above all, they can SHOOT…..

If they choose to go after you, they will succeed. Think Afghanistan or Iraq was bad? Yeah, like that only with more material and wealth…..

And people just as motivated and just as resilient and better educated….and no less motivated. I’m not one of them, but I am on their side……

24 attacks in the past 5 years? Yeah, maybe that is true. Yet how many religiously motivated attacks came from Muslims?

How many have you hidden? How many have you mis-characterized to keep the number low?

24 attacks (that you claim are attacks) that you blame on “Right Wingers”…..

Hint: You only govern because you have the consent of the governed. You are rapidly reducing that consent.

If/when things change, it won’t be pretty and it won’t be fast and it won’t be bloodless. I’d hate to see that happen. I love my country too much.

IMAGINE MY SURPRISE – ISRAEL GETS AWAY WITH YET ANOTHER MURDER!

Posted by Xaniel777 on February 12, 2015

Rachel Corrie’s family loses wrongful death appeal in Israel’s supreme court

Family of US woman killed in Gaza 12 years ago had sought to hold Israel liable for her death, but judges uphold decision of lower court in Haifa

Israel’s supreme court has rejected the appeal by the family of Rachel Corrie – the US activist who was crushed to death by a military bulldozer in Gaza 12 years ago – which had sought to hold Israel liable for her death.

The ruling, which followed a high-profile hearing before Israel’s top court last year, appears to bring to an end – in the Israeli courts at least – years of effort by Corrie’s family to hold the country’s military responsible for her death.

Instead, the court upheld the decision of a lower court, which invoked the “combat activities exception” that the Israeli military cannot be held responsible for damages in a war zone.

“Our family is disappointed but not surprised,” the Corrie family said in a statement released on Thursday. “Nevertheless, it is clear that this decision, affirming the August 2012 lower court finding, amounts to judicial sanction of immunity for Israeli military forces when they commit injustices and human rights violations.

“Despite the verdict, our family remains convinced we were correct in bringing this case forward,” the family said. “The day after Rachel was killed, Prime Minister Sharon promised President Bush a thorough, credible and transparent investigation. Clearly, that standard was not met.”

In 2003, 23-year old Corrie, from Olympia in Washington state, was a volunteer with the International Solidarity Movement protesting against the Israeli military’s house destructions in Rafah, in the southern Gaza strip, when she was run over and killed.

Her death became an international cause célèbre.

Corrie’s family had been pursuing a lawsuit against Israel’s defence ministry, charging that Israel’s military had either killed her deliberately, or that they were guilty of negligence in not demonstrating more care when she attempted to block the bulldozer.

The family had been appealing against the decision of a lower court in Haifa in 2012 that absolved the Israeli military of responsibility for her death, describing it as a “regrettable accident.”

The Corrie family first began proceedings in 2005 – two years after their daughter’s death – arguing in court that the military should have suspended the bulldozing operations until the protesters had been removed from the area.

The appeal last year attracted considerable attention, although it was clear from the exchanges between the judges and the Corrie family lawyer that it would be an uphill struggle to persuade the court. Rachel’s mother Cindy had criticised the 2012 court ruling in Haifa as “a symptom of a broken system of accountability within Israel and our own US government” that had failed to deliver accountability for her daughter’s death.

The Israeli military had long argued that the area in which Rachel Corrie was killed was a “closed military zone” where there had been recent violence – a claim challenged by family’s lawyer Hussein Abu Hussein.

The judge in the Haifa case also accepted the claim by the Israeli military that troops in the area had recently been attacked with a grenade – an assertion also challenged by the family.

Rachel’s parents, Craig and Cindy, had dedicated themselves almost full-time to their quest to learn the truth about their daughter’s death, an event tangled in the contradictory claims by by Israeli soldiers, which often seemed at odds with official military logs.

The 2012 hearing accepted the claim by the unidentified bulldozer driver that he did not see Corrie standing in front of his when he ran her over despite the fact she was wearing a fluorescent jacket.

Instead, judge Oded Gershon held her responsible for her own death. “She did not move away as any reasonable person would have done,” Gershon ruled. “But she chose to endanger herself … and thus found her death.”

In a separate ruling, however, the supreme court reversed a second lower court decision relating to claims that Corrie’s body was mishandled after her autopsy. That had led to claims that some of her remains were misplaced. That case will now go back to court.

Corrie’s story inspired the 2005 play My Name is Rachel Corrie, written by Guardian US editor Katharine Viner, which was based on Corrie’s writings. The play has been staged across the world, and will be performed this spring in New York for the first time.

My New Heroes : AMERICAN FREE PRESS Pushes For Truth From Israeli Embassy

Israel Retaliates Against War Crimes Investigation, Attacks AFP

5_6_Israeli_War_Crimes

• Israeli embassy spokesman has nuclear-grade meltdown.

• Attacks AMERICAN FREE PRESS for asking tough questions.

By Ronald L. Ray —

Israel is not known for subtle diplomatic skills. That is blatantly obvious in the Zionist government’s heavy-handed response to that state of Palestine’s accepting the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court (ICC) and acceding to the Rome Statute at the beginning of January, in an effort to obtain justice in the face of the ongoing Israeli genocide against the Palestinian people.

The subsequent announcement on January 16 by ICC prosecutor Fatou Bensouda of a preliminary examination of the situation in Palestine led a swarm of outraged Israeli and American officials to condemn the efforts and initiate reprisals against both Palestine and the war crimes tribunal itself. And when AMERICAN FREE PRESS submitted some tough questions about it to the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C., the official spokesman responded in a manner that was, well, most undiplomatic.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas long has sought to steer a middle course between the Hamas Party that governs Gaza and the Israeli government. Because Israel refused to resume peace negotiations with Palestine unless Abbas represented all Palestinians, he formed a unity government with Hamas.

Then Israel condemned him for “dealing with terrorists” and withdrew again, demonstrating bad faith. That, and the brutal military attacks initiated against Gaza by Israel last summer, apparently led Abbas to conclude finally that the Israelis have no intention of achieving peace with Palestinians unless it is the “peace of the grave.”

This is the context in which Palestine, recognized as a sovereign nation by the United Nations and most of the world other than the United States and Israel, chose to seek help again from the ICC and accept the Rome Statute governing war crimes, crimes of genocide and crimes against humanity.

Ms. Bensouda will investigate whether formal charges should be brought against Israel, although the full process could take years. But even while justice is delayed, Palestine can use the case to bring greater international focus on the intense suffering and death inflicted by Israel on its people.

Apart from public tirades by Israeli officials, the Zionist government—like all extortionists—retaliated immediately, cutting off a $125 million monthly tax transfer to Palestine, contrary to legal agreements, in order to undermine the Palestinian government and its ability to pay employees. Further retaliation was promised by the Jewish juvenile delinquents.

Israeli officials also seek to destroy the independent ICC, demanding that the Zionist client states of Japan, Canada, Australia and Germany violate treaty obligations and stop funding the court. Paranoid Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman alleged the ICC investigation is “solely motivated by political anti-Israel considerations,” and threatened that Israel would “dismantle this court.”

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee and Zionist sycophants in Congress are demanding that $500 million in annual U.S. aid to Palestine be cut off. Some “peacemakers.” The Obama White House did not respond to AMERICAN FREE PRESS requests for a statement.

Because Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Ron Dermer and embassy spokesman Aaron Segui were unavailable for interviews, this reporter submitted 10 questions to the spokesman on January 22.

Segui’s January 23 response was astonishing and sadly stereotypical. Asked about Israel’s latest words and actions regarding the above situation, and about a long list of Israelis’ genocidal activities in Palestine, no statesman-like, reasoned response resulted. Instead, Segui replied: “We respond to questions from real press and real journalists. We do not deal with any of those coming from pathetic, cheap anti-Israeli propaganda platforms.”

AFP readers may wish to protest this undignified behavior and support justice for beleaguered Palestinians suffering from Israeli war crimes by contacting the Israeli embassy at (202) 364-5500. Tell the ambassador to stop the genocide.

10 Questions for the Israeli Embassy

• Here is the list of Ronald Ray’s questions for the Israeli ambassador that triggered a tizzy

1. What is the Israeli government’s view of the International Criminal Court (ICC)? Previously, it stated it is a “long-standing advocate” of the ICC.

2. How does the Israeli government view the accession of the Palestinian State to the Rome Statute governing the ICC and the Palestinian effort to have war crimes charges brought against Israel and/or individual Israelis?

3. Public statements by Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, have demonstrated extreme hostility toward all Palestinian efforts to accede to the Rome Statute and to seek an investigation into potential Israel war crimes committed on Palestinian territory. Why is this?

4. If, as Israel repeatedly asserts, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are “the most moral military in the world,” why do Israeli officials display such obvious anger and vindictiveness toward Palestinian and ICC prosecutor actions?

5. If Israel is guilty of no war crimes or crimes against humanity, why do Israeli officials act more like playground bullies than statesmen?

6. If Israel is guilty of no war crimes or crimes against humanity, why is it attempting to undermine the legitimacy and even existence of the ICC?

7. If Israel is guilty of no war crimes or crimes against humanity, why has it withheld the $125 million customs payment it legally owes to the Palestinian State?

8. What is the response of the government of Israel to those who point to clear evidence that Israel—including the IDF and illegal Israeli “settlers” in Gaza and the West Bank—is engaging in documented acts and a program of genocide against the Palestinian people, including but not limited to enclosing them in what amount to massive, open-air prison/death camps with walls worse than those of a ghetto, topped by machine gun turrets; policies and acts of racism and apartheid; poisoning and destruction of Palestinian water supplies; withholding of food and medicalsupplies from Palestinians; illegal naval blockade of Gaza; deliberate killing and maiming of massive numbers of non-combatants, especially Palestinian women and children; collective punishment of Palestinians; unprovoked kidnapping and/or murder of individual Palestinians, especially children and youths; and the unjust, illegal seizure of land in Palestinian East Jerusalem, including expulsion of the Palestinian inhabitants, contrary to international law; etc.? Finally, although the following are not part of my report on the ICC issue, I would be most grateful for answers to the following questions, as well, if at all possible.

9. Why does Israel not join the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, although it possesses an estimated 400 nuclear weapons?

10. Why has the state of Israel refused to provide a full apology or provide full reparations to survivors and to the United States government for its wanton and unprovoked attack on the USS Liberty in 1967, in which Israel attempted to sink a clearly marked U.S. reconnaissance ship in a deliberate act of war against the U.S.?
