  4. Not so much emotional, but certainly combative to what appeared to be only one side of the story (ha, as if the truth has two sides;) It really would be a travesty of justice, however, if Obama succumbs to the pressure and grants Peltier clemency. And yes, I know people who know Leonard. He’s still useful as a political tool, and not much else.

You do seem pretty emotional about this issue, James. And many sides do make up the world.
I largely respect your thoroughness in your statements and almost sense that you had a personal stake one way or another in the events that unfolded.
If that is the case, then I now understand the emotional charge you have in the statements you have written in my website.
Statements, I might add, that equally scream of demand that everyone share your view, least you be insulted by any other.
But, for you to take the time to write so deeply about the facts as you believe them to be, commands respect all on it’s own!
It is not, nor was it ever, my intention to insult you or anyone else.
Nor, is my intention to engage you personally in a battle of views on this matter that you have obviously invested so much time in.
And just so you know, I do not fully agree with the many who fully support Leonard Peltier either.
So once again we find ourselves at the point where I say,
” There seems to be many views on this issue, James. And although I may not agree with all that you have to say, I will respect your right to say it!”
I truly mean that James, and God Bless you in all that you do.~~Xaniel777

  6. Yes many views, but personal opinions and wishful thinking based on falsehoods and folklore should be discounted. What matters are the findings of the courts, where Peltier loses, 20-some appeals and counting, all unanimous against him. Are there that many corrupt judges, across several decades, all working to keep this innocent “human rights activist” behind bars? How many lies does inmate Peltier have to be caught making, how many changes to his story, how many good people must be demonized for the sake of politics, before his followers wake up? And to think, it all got started thanks to Peter Matthiessen, who phoned Robert Redford and got him hooked on the perfect “Brubaker” story of outrage. Surely, Redford knows better than the original trial jurors, the prosecuting attorneys, the appellate courts in two different circuits, the Supreme Court (twice), Anna Mae’s daughters, Dennis Bank’s former wife and sister-in-law, and even the convicted killer himself, who bragged in front of four witnesses about shooting Ron Williams as he begged for his life. Anybody care about his human rights?

  8. Your propaganda about inmate Peltier is insulting. Leonard Peltier was convicted of aiding and abetting the 1975 murders of FBI agents Jack Coler and Ron Williams. He was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences. But as his 1993 Parole Board concluded,

“… the greater probability is that you yourself fired the fatal shots… It would be unjust to treat the slaying of these F.B.I. agents, while they lay wounded and helpless, as if your actions had been part of a gun battle. Neither the state of relations between Native American militants and law enforcement at the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation prior to June 26, 1975, nor the exchanges of gunfire between individuals at the Jumping Bull Compound and the law enforcement agents who arrived there during the hours after Agents Coler and Williams were murdered, explains or mitigates the crimes you committed… Your release on parole would promote disrespect for the law in contravention of 18 U.S.C….”

The Federal Register, the trial evidence, and the court transcripts strongly support a guilty verdict for Leonard Peltier. Information that has surfaced since his conviction bolsters it even more, such as evidence of Peltier’s boast, shooting Agent Williams in the face at point-blank range.
Peltier remains unrepentant and manipulative. It would be an extreme injustice to release him, absent confession and contrition. According to Minnie Two Shoes and other Indians, Peltier also interrogated AIM member Anna Mae Pictou Aquash by putting a loaded gun in her mouth. Anna Mae was later shot in the head, another murder Peltier is familiar with. And, as honest debate would reveal, Peltier has committed massive fraud against millions of well-intentioned people, bilking them out of their time and money in the name of a manufactured persona as a “human rights activist.” What about Anna Mae’s human rights? Because no one familiar with the facts of these cases will advocate Peltier’s release, he has only succeeded in sealing his fate and ensnaring new recruits with hateful lies. Indian Country deserves better than to be left with the legacy of another false hero.

Read this recent court ruling about Peltier’s involvement in the Aquash murder: http://www.sdjudicial.com/Uploads/opinions/25899.pdf

And hear Peltier change his story, in his own words, at americanindianmafia.com.

Honor the truth; don’t get fooled again!
