TODAY’S NEWS : January 31, 2012

From What Really Happened.com

By Mike Rivero

I really shouldn’t be allowed near a keyboard when I am recovering from a cold and juiced up on Nyquil.

It’s Sunday afternoon. Claire is upstairs working on music and I am laying on the futon, having watched the original 1933 version of King Kong which has just been released on Blu-Ray, and I am dozing. Down at the bottom of the hill is the Aloha Stadium and as today’s Pro-Bowl gets underway the sounds of the cheering crowds drift up the hillside.

In my dreams, I mingle the sounds of the game with the images of the native cult on Skull Island, screaming and chanting as they prepare to offer up a village child as a living sacrifice to their deity. In my dream I see a modern stadium filled with my neighbors and friends, cheering as an innocent human sacrifice contemplates the final moments of his or her life. Above the hapless victim stands the Witch Doctor whose power and influence grows with each drop of spilled blood. The crowd roars its approval as the final act brings an end to innocent life.

It is at this point that a burst of fireworks and the over flight of a formation of military jets just over our roof brings me back to the present. As I listen to the sounds of the crowds, I imagine that they sound exactly the same way as those crowds in Rome who roared while slaves fought to the death in the Colosseum or Aztec Shamen tore the hearts from still-living victims.

In a moment of clarity, it occurs to me that we have a death cult taking center stage in America. However, because it comes dressed in the latest fashions, we fail to recognize it as such. Movies like King Kong teach us to see grass skirts and a bone through the nose and skulls on poles as the signs of primitive barbaric rituals. But that is silly. Barbarism knows no fashion sense. Atrocity always arrives dressed in the latest styles.

As I listen to that crowd caught up in the symbolized and abstracted warfare of a football game, I could easily equate that sound to the cheers that greeted Adolph Hitler’s call for war. From there it is a short leap to imagine the same crowds cheering as Newt Gingrich, or Mitt Romney, or Sarah Palin, or Michelle Bachman all call for endless war across the face of the globe, reveling in the blood lust and hoping, like the Skull Island witch doctor, to hold away over the people with images of blood and horror just as the Roman Emperors did.

Can you not see it? Can you not see the almost universal love and worship of death inherent in the present US political system? Obama says all options are on the table with regard to Iran. All options, that is, except for peace.

As our roads crumble, and our schools close, and our quality of life collapses, still the attention of the nation’s leaders remains focused on war and killing. They love it, They are entranced by it. They glory in it. Death excites them, and the more horrible it is, the more orgasmic they are to contemplate it! No amount of other people’s money is too great to spend, nor any number of other people’s children too many to sacrifice.

There is nothing but greed in our leaders’ domestic policy; their hearts are in their weapons! Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Libya, Somalia; on and on and on, without pause, without satiation. In their minds they are gods incarnate, able to bring death to whole cities with the flick of a finger.

Throughout history, no death cult has ever survived. Some flame out very quickly, like Jonestown. Others, like the Nazis, or Pol Pot, take a bit longer to commit sociological suicide. Rome lasted longest of all. But eventually they all fell and as they neared their end, the devotion to the cult of death become ever more fanatical; the thirst for other peoples’ blood unquenchable. There is the warning we must heed if we are to turn aside from the current cult of death and the priests and priestesses who rule it.

The United States is not a nation comfortable in the 21st Century. Our rulers yearn for the easy days of the 1950s and the height of the cold war when America were conditioned to wet themselves upon hearing the word “Commie”, then hurl their money at the Cult of Death, and their babies onto the enemies’ bayonets. Worse, our leaders long for the world of the middle ages, before the Magna Carta made torture illegal. Our leaders long for Skull Island, where they can offer up your children as a living blood sacrifice to their Cult of Death with your obedient approval and worship.

We are on the wrong path.

There is, of course, one candidate who is not caught up in the cult of death. A certain doctor who spent 30 years of his life bringing new babies into the world, and by those very actions, demonstrably a man who reveres and worships life. The American Cult of Death hate that man, of course, because the first rule of any death cult is that like all cults it must appear to be the only possible way of life. There can be no alternative view of the world, no safe refuge where one can escape the blood rages.

When people ask me why I still want Ron Paul as President it comes down to a very simple explanation. Ron Paul is the only candidate out there who embraces and celebrates life, while all the others are priests and priestesses of the American Cult of Death, ready to extend their thumbs over the sand of the Colosseum, and whose stated intentions are to end life, everywhere they can.

Is Israel on the Road to Self-Destruction?

My Catbird Seat

Veteran journalist Hart, is still hard at work. ZIONISM, THE REAL ENEMY OF THE JEWS is an epic three-volume journey through the propaganda lies and the documented truth of history as it relates to the making and sustaining of what has come to be called the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.

Our current leaders have made Israeli Judaism just a post-traumatic syndrome, while they lead us to self-destruction.

by Alan Hart

One very well informed and courageous Israeli who thinks the answer is “Yes” is Merav Michaeli, a radio and television presenter who also writes for Ha’aretz. She is completely without fear when it comes to telling it like it is.

On 2 January this year, for example, she wrote: The Israeli government doesn’t want peace. There’s nothing new in that. It has been the proven way since the establishment of the state.”

The headline over her latest article is Israel’s never-ending Holocaust.

          Merav Michaeli

One of her main points is that Israel has never confronted the trauma of the Nazi holocaust and has “turned it into a placard in the service of the national trauma, to reinforce the constant existential fear and the aggressiveness that comes with it.”

Because what she wrote is so important, and in my view ought to be read by all peoples of all faiths everywhere who want to understand why the Zionist state is what it is, I am going to quote her at some length.

Israelis mark Holocaust Memorial Day in Jerusalem

She wrote:

The Holocaust is the primary way Israel defines itself. And that definition is narrow and ailing in the extreme, because the Holocaust is remembered only in a very specific way, as are its lessons.

It has long been used to justify the existence and the necessity of the state, and has been mentioned in the same breath as proof that the state is under a never-ending existential threat.

The Holocaust is the sole prism through which our leadership, followed by society at large, examines every situation.

This prism distorts reality and leads inexorably to a forgone conclusion… that all our lives are simply one long Shoah (experience of persecution and extermination – my amplification not Merav’s).

The ‘Hitlers’ are always there:

Just a week ago, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said for the nth time that there is no shortage of those who want to exterminate us completely. In other words, there is no lack of reasons to continue to reinforce the fear of the Holocaust – which, according to his father, historian Benzion Netanyahu, has never ended.

So it is that we don’t have any rivals, adversaries or even enemies. Only Hitlers. This is how the Holocaust is taught in school, this how it is that Israeli students are taken to visit death camps – and how it came to be that, as Ha’aretz reported on Friday, just 2 percent of Israeli youth feel committed to democratic principles after studying the Holocaust.

That’s the way it is with traumas. Because of our human limitations, a trauma that is not dealt with makes us constantly see yet another trauma approaching – even when whatever is coming has no connection to the previous trauma and may even be a good thing. Trauma leads to belligerence and a strong tendency to wreak havoc on one’s surroundings, but first and foremost on oneself.

What we consider rational is actually a frightened, defensive, aggressive pattern. Our current leaders have made Israeli Judaism just a post-traumatic syndrome, while they lead us to self-destruction.

I imagine that most if not all Arabs and other Muslims everywhere would welcome the prospect of Israel self-destructing, but in my Gentile view it is not actually a prospect to be welcomed. Why not?

If there comes a time when it seemed to them that the Zionist state’s self-destruction was imminent, Israel’s leaders would respond in the same way as they would if their state was in danger of being defeated on the battlefield.

As readers of my book Zionism: The Real Enemy of the Jews know, that response was put into words by Golda Meir in the course of one of my BBC Panorama interviews with her when she was prime minister.

In a doomsday situation, she said, Israel would be prepared to take the region down with it.”

The question arising is something like this. Is there any power on Planet Earth that could assist Israeli Jews to save themselves from themselves – perhaps I should say save themselves from their deluded leaders?

The more I think about this question, the more I am convinced that there is only one power that could do it – the Jews of the world. But that must be the subject of another post and I will welcome thoughts from others before I write it.

Israeli Outlaws

• American officials irked at brazen Zionist assassinations

• Mini-state’s false flag terrorism puts Americans in danger

By Ralph Forbes—AFP Southern Bureau

Over the weekend of Jan. 14-15, the White House announced it was abruptly canceling the deployment of thousands of U.S. troops to Israel in a long-planned exercise that had been sold as a display of support but was really meant to be a show of force, directed at Iran. The reason, according to U.S. government insiders, was that a series of false flag ops carried out by Israel had put Americans in harm’s way. Top U.S. brass had finally had enough.

Officials in the White House, Pentagon and State Department are reportedly fuming at the latest ill-conceived assassination, which was designed to drag the U.S. military into a ruinous war with Iran. The hit carried out against Ahmadi Roshan, a Sharif University of Technology chemical engineering graduate, involved a motorcycle rider, who placed an explosive on the scientist’s car. When the bomb was detonated, Roshan was killed instantly in broad daylight on the streets of Tehran.

Since at least 2003, the U.S. and Israel have been waging a covert war against Iran. In this latest incident, though, Israel acted alone and deliberately planted conspiracy theories so that the Iranians would blame the U.S.

Richard Silverstein of the Israeli news outlet Tikkun Olam put an end to the uncertainty when he reported: “My own confidential Israeli source confirms today’s murder was the work of Mossad and MEK.” (The People’s Mujahedin of Iran  [MEK]  is a terrorist organization that advocates the overthrow of the Islamic Republic of Iran.)

And by no means was this the first time Israel has tried to frame the U.S. According to a report by Mark Perry in Foreign Policy: “A series of CIA memos describes how Israeli Mossad agents posed as American spies to recruit members of terrorist organizations to fight their covert war against Iran. The Israelis, flush with American dollars and toting U.S. passports, posed as CIA officers in a false-flag operation.”

American intelligence officers were stunned by the chutzpa of the Mossad. The CIA’s report “sparked White House concerns that Israel’s program was putting Americans at risk,” reported Perry.

Former Central Command Chief Gen. Joe Hoar said of the Israeli operation: “While false-flag operations are hardly new, they’re extremely dangerous. Israel is playing with fire. They get us involved in their covert war, whether we want to be involved or not.”

An intelligence officer summed up the general feeling among many U.S. officials when he told Perry: “This was stupid and dangerous. Israel is supposed to be working with us, not against us. If they want to shed blood, it would help a lot if it were their blood and not ours. You know, they’re supposed to be a strategic asset. Well, guess what? There are a lot of people now, important people, who just don’t think that’s true.”

The War Party’s Achilles’ heel

The campaign to lure the US into attacking Iran has one big problem to overcome before the War Party can taste success: the rather obvious fact that such a war would benefit Israel, and not the United States. This is why Israel’s partisans in the US constitute the spearhead of the pro-war agitation, why AIPAC has made this a consistent theme for the past few years, and why the billionaire Sheldon Adelson, aside from funding the Newtster, has poured untold millions into the same project.

Hardly a day goes by without some Israeli government official reiterating, once again, that Iran represents an “existential threat” to the Jewish state, and threatening to strike the first blow if Uncle Sam fails to wake up in time, while Israel’s amen corner dutifully echoes the same line.

How to get around this is the problem at the heart of the War Party’s current project, and in order to do so they are employing the deadliest weapon in their well-stocked arsenal: the accusation of “racism,” the most toxic accusation anyone can make about someone in the current political climate. Specifically, they are accusing war opponents of “anti-Semitism.”

After all, if Israel is the Jewish state, and that state’s very existence is threatened by the specter of Iran’s alleged nuclear weapons program (which US intelligence has stubbornly failed to detect), then opposition to US military action is “anti-Semitism,” pure and simple.Israel and its more vehement partisans in this country have demanded the US attack Iran, even going so far as to raise the specter of another Holocaust if America fails to act.

However, one argument they have failed to make is significant by its absence – they have failed to show how it is in America’s interest to launch a military strike. Indeed, they have neglected this part of the equation rather ostentatiously, and yet one can hardly blame them for this oversight for the simple reason that such a case would be impossible to make.

An attack on Iran would deprive the world economy of a significant portion of its energy needs, and would likely result in an economic catastrophe in this country – to say nothing of the costs of the war, in blood and treasure. War-weary Americans are not in the mood for another invasion and occupation in search of nonexistent “weapons of mass destruction.” This is the War Party’s Achilles’ heel.

Today’s war propagandists have figured out a way to make the issue of American interests, as opposed to Israeli interests, go away, and that is by policing the language of the debate. Are you calling someone who wants to pursue Israeli interests over and above those of his or her own country an “Israel firster”? Well, then, you are “anti-Semitic,” you are employing the oldest “anti-Semitic tropes” and echoing “neo-Nazis,” who – James Kirchick assures us – are the originators of the phrase.

This is the argument made by “progressive” Spencer Ackerman in a recent issue of the Tablet, in which he joins the neoconservative assault on Glenn GreenwaldM.J. Rosenberg, and four bloggers over at the Center for American Progress who got slapped down for daring to wield (or imply) this supposedly “toxic” phrase.

“One unexpected consequence of the book’s publication was the visit from an agent of the FBI, who had been sent to make some inquiries about its author.”
There’s just one problem with this argument: it isn’t true. Ackerman cites Kirchick as the authority in this matter, but as a researcher the man Time columnist Joe Klein called adishonest prick” and a cheap “propagandist” leaves much to be desired. Kirchick claims the phrase originated with Willis Carto’s Spotlight newspaper, a cesspool of anti-Semitism, but this is false: it originated, as one can see here, with Alfred M. Lilienthal, an anti-Zionist Jew who wrote several books in the early 1950s and 1960s, notably What Price Israel?

Lilienthal’s 1953 book was brought out by Henry Regnery, the noted conservative publicist and pioneer publisher, whose press also printed a number of other anti-Zionist and pro-Palestinian works, including Freda Utley’s Will the Middle East Go West? – which presciently argued American support for Israel would alienate the Arab world – Road to Beersheba, a novel by Ethel Mannin which dramatized the plight of a conquered people imprisoned in their own land, and a collection of photographs and text by the Swedish photographer Per-Orlow Anderson, They Are Human Too, which, in Regnery’s words, “brought us face to face with the tragedy of the Arab refugees, whom he photographed crowded into the inhospitable Gaza strip.” Which brings to mind the old saw about “the more things change.” Yet another example of the changeless nature of our politics was described by Regnery, who reported in his Memoirs of a Dissident Publisher:

“This was,” continues Regnery, “one of the less serious calls by government agents of one kind or another that frequently followed the publication of a book that displeased some group or individual of influence.” Our witch-hunters will surely characterize Regnery’s sardonic remark as evidence that he, too, was another one of those awful “anti-Semites” – after all, he was implying the Zionist lobby had enough influence to call out the dogs of the FBI and sic them on a mere photographer.

Yet Regnery’s views, and those of his attendant authors, were hardly considered “subversive” back then: indeed, theirs was the standard conservative position on the state of Israel, which, back in the day, was an ally of the Soviet Union and a proudly socialist state.

It is inconceivable, of course, that the Regnery Publishing Co. of today would put out anything remotely resembling Lilienthal’s work: not with the conservative movement of 2012 dominated by warmongering neoconservatives and nutty Christian Zionists who see support for Israel as divinely ordained. In 1949, however, when Lilienthal wrote “Israel’s Flag is Not Mine” for Readers Digest, his critique of Zionist propaganda was shared by mainstream conservatives as a matter of course:

“Are these people acting as Americans? Europe’s recovery through the Marshall Plan is the keystone of our bipartisan foreign policy, which the Communists are trying to sabotage. Any boycott of British goods, organized or unorganized, helps this destruction.”
“Today we see Zionists boasting of ‘Jewish’ political strength, Zionist picket lines around British consulates, Zionists demonstrating against Foreign Minister Ernest Bevin when he arrives here to sign the Atlantic Pact, New York stores plastered with posters screaming ‘Do Not Buy British. Made Goods.’

It wasn’t any neo-Nazis, but Lilienthal, a political conservative and a devout Jew, who was the first to raise the question of “dual loyalty.” The “Israel Firster” meme originated, not with the neo-Nazi fringe, but with conservative Jews who, like Lilienthal, objected that:

“My one and only homeland is America. I am proud of my belief in the age-old Judaic concept of one God in Heaven and one Humanity here below. But my faith does not pull me into a feeling of narrowly tribal kinship with all others who worship God in this way. Whenever I read of Americans singing the Hatikvah, Israel’s national anthem, or see youth groups raising Israel’s flag beside the Stars and Stripes. I am outraged. For Israel’s flag and anthem are symbols of a foreign state; they are not mine.”

The Kirchicks, the Ackermans, the Goldbergs – and also the Cartos – want us to forget this heritage, which has been buried under the landslide of pro-Israel propaganda, because it challenges the premises of both the Israel-Firsters and the anti-Semites.

In short, the “neo-Nazi” origins of the “Israel Firster” meme is a myth that depends on ignorance of the real history of American Jewish opposition to Israeli nationalism. Like all war propaganda, it is based on blanking out whole portions of the historical record in favor of a black-and-white version of events.Lilienthal was no fringe character: a diplomat who worked in the State Department during the war, he served in the US Army in the Middle East, and was later a consultant at the founding conference of the United Nations.

His opposition to Zionism as a political movement was initially shared by many if not most American Jews: see Jack Ross’s new book, Rabbi Outcast, for a biography of the most well-known figure in this movement, Rabbi Elmer Berger, which also serves as a detailed history of the American Council for Judaism, the organizational expression of this tendency.

These Jews did not think it extraordinary that they would oppose the claims of a foreign government on their loyalties, and they warned – presciently, as it turned out – that American Jews would face charges of harboring dual loyalties because of the Zionists’ insistence that all Jews somehow owed allegiance to Tel Aviv.

So don’t worry, Glenn – you can still use “Israel Firster” without being tainted by the stain of anti-Semitism.

Yet why use the term at all? Isn’t it just a nasty epithet, one that doesn’t illuminate any valid point about our impending war with Iran?

In a word: no. The advocates of war with Iran are finagling to set up the debate in terms of whether or not we will act to prevent another Holocaust – in which case opposition to bombing Tehran will be characterized as enabling mass genocide. Here is where the neoconservatives and the “responsibility to protect“progressives” on the left will meet and merge.

They must not be allowed to get away with it: the Language Police don’t have a warrant when it comes to “Israel Firster,” and appeasing them can only constrict the debate so that the essential motive of the pro-war forces is obscured.

And, no, it won’t do to argue that Israel’s interests are not served by a US war with Iran: after all, if we aren’t allowed to argue in terms of what’s in America’s interests, and the interests of its people, then we are hogtied from the word go.

That this “argument” is based on fantasy – the fantasy that Iran is indeed busy cooking up nukes, and is determined to wipe Israel off the map – is being obscured in a barrage of lies and phony “intelligence” similar to that which dragged us into attacking Iraq.

But war propaganda and facts don’t mix: indeed, they are mutually exclusive. The idea behind any effective campaign designed to push us into war is to whip up an emotional storm, and a key part of this hysteria is smearing antiwar writers and politicians as “anti-Semites.” In the America of 2012, where political correctness is the Iron Rule, even the accusation – no matter how unfounded – of racial or religious bigotry is toxic, and the War Party hopes to poison the debate over Iran by injecting it into the discourse.

I note that Freda Utley, mentioned above, who died in 1978, was the mother of Antiwar.com writer and conservative activist Jon Basil Utley. Here is a passage fromWill the East Go West?:

It would seem only too obvious that we are in danger of alienating not only the Arabs but also the far larger Islamic world, because our most-favored-nation treatment of Israel does give grounds for the accusation that she is ‘the spearhead of Western imperialism which still endeavors to divide and rule.’ The Arabs see that Israel is subsidized by huge, tax-free donations by American-Jewish citizens and by United States grants far larger than our economic aid to the Arab States, which, in spite of Israel’s small population, have made her militarily the most powerful State in the Middle East.

This leads the Arabs to the false suppositions that America controls Israel, and that we are thus responsible for what she does. As I found during my brief visit to the Middle East, it was difficult to convince the Arabs that, although we pay the piper, we do not call the tune. Americans for sentimental reasons may like to hear music that evokes memories of King Solomon’s temple; but the tune that Israel plays with our permission, if not at our bidding, so grates on the nerves of Israel’s neighbors that they are tempted to call in a Soviet ‘policeman’ to throw both the piper and the sentimental visitor out.”

                                       Chippy Dee Adds….

OWS is taking its’ act on the road – they are going to be in a different city park every Sunday.  They’re “Occupying Town Squares”.  Today they were at Wash. Sq. reaching out to people.  Loads of NYPD were on hand but seemed to be behaving.  Weather was quite cold but bright and sunny. (Related report after photo essay)

Dreaming Big OWS Organizers Plan Spring Offensive

It’s bizarre how often nowadays one hears Occupy Wall Street talked about in the past tense — bizarre, especially, if one was at the strategy meeting of OWS’s Direct Action group on Jan. 8. Around 150 of the movement’s most restless radicals sat on the hardwood floor and in folding chairs at 16 Beaver Street, a block from the Charging Bull in downtown Manhattan.

The purpose was a big-picture strategic discussion about where the movement’s tactics had taken it so far and where to go in the coming months. As if to match the scale of the conversation, huge sheets of paper were spread across the center of the room, which scribes markered up with the gist of what was being said.

There was no lack of confidence to go around — just the kind of infectious naivété that drove some of these same people to take and hold Zuccotti Park back in September. They reviewed their favorite things about what they’d done since then: moments that captured the world’s attention and, especially, the ones in which they shed their own fear and had enough fun to want to continue.

For better or worse, a lot of this is still fixated on defying the NYPD, rather than really challenging the economic order or movement building A lot of them spoke highly of the barricade-removing hijinks of New Year’s Eve, which was fun if you were there but didn’t play very well in Peoria.

“We’re somewhere between a movement and a revolution,” concluded Austin Guest, a 31-year-old with sideburns on only one side of his thick, brown beard. He added that, if they wanted to, they could bring down Bank of America in six months. Whenever there was a break, someone would jump up on a chair and start telling radical jokes. Why do anarchists only drink coffee?

How many feminists does it take to screw in a lightbulb? Somebody else would already know the punch line and shout it out, while others burst into laughter until they could hardly breathe. This was not the mood one would expect to find in a bygone movement.

Nor would one expect the litany of upcoming actions reeled off by a woman named Tammy, who, as part of the Interoccupy project, was helping to coordinate occupations nationwide. There would be “Occupy the Dream” protests on MLK Day. On Jan. 20, Move to Amend would be organizing actions throughout the country against corporate personhood.

There was Occupy Education on March 1, a global day of action on May 12 and actions against the G8 and NATO summits in Chicago later that month. Other people added more: an Egypt solidarity march on Jan. 21, a day recognizing violence against women on Feb. 14 and a mobilization in D.C. marking the anniversary of Dr. King’s assassination on April 4.

In the minds of many, the crown jewel was the global general strike that Occupy Los Angeles called for May Day— though pulling anything close to that, given the state of organized labor in the United States, would seem next to impossible. “I’m totally in love with the general strike,” said one middle-aged man, describing himself as an artist who for years has lived below the poverty line. “To me it’s analogous to seeing the face of God.” He also suggested bringing 10,000 people to Battery Park to watch the sun set on the summer solstice, led by Native American shamans.

After the open brainstorming, the facilitator, a tall man with a blond rattail, tried to guide the meeting toward specific “throughline projects.” These, he explained, are big ones that the whole group can put its energy behind, that would string the isolated days of action into an overarching story, disrupt the pillars of support for corporate power and liberate more space that a new kind of world could fill. Breakout groups discussed what these projects might be.

One group centered its discussion around mounting occupations of foreclosed homes and defunded schools. The group that attracted the most people was devoted to shutdowns: banks, ports, malls, you name it. A New Jerseyan named Chris, who started the famous We Are the 99 Percent blog, called for balancing these disruptive actions with making the movement “a healing force.” Lots of fingers wiggling high in the air — this went without saying. People had already been talking about setting up childcare enters, schools, kitchens, free clinics and worker-owned co-ops, especially in the public spaces they’re hoping to re-occupy in the spring.

From start to finish, there was almost no talk of the presidential elections — what virtually everyone else in this country thinks of when they think of politics for the year ahead. The closest those at the meeting came was one quick mention of protests at both parties’ conventions and a call for voter noncooperation.

By omission, it seems, this movement intends to create a countervailing narrative to the election-year joust among the powers that be, to get people thinking about a whole different kind of politics. It’s no small task to compete with an election that will spend more money spent in it than ever before imaginable; the movement will need to offer people something more hopeful, more compelling and more tangible than any presidential candidate can promise to deliver.

In order to do so, some believe that the movement needs a national coming-together, an Occupied convention to hammer out points of unity. A group working to develop what it calls the “99% Declaration” — controversial for its embrace of legislative demands and representative politics — has called for a “National General Assembly” in Philadelphia on July 4, with delegates elected through its website. The General Assembly at Occupy Philadelphia has countered by passing its own “National Gathering Process Proposal,” which insists that it would only host such a convention if it were planned and peopled by the other Occupy GAs.

One of that proposal’s drafters, Nathan Kleinman, explained to me at the Jan. 8 meeting, “This is not about the gathering itself, this is about how to organize one.” As always in the movement, process takes precedence. Kleinman is also one of the creators of Interoccupy, where conference calls are now being used on a daily basis by Occupy activists around the country to work together on a variety of projects.

Another national convergence is also in the works, with the same organizers as the occupation at Freedom Plaza in Washington, D.C. (Though it has now joined the Occupy fold, Freedom Plaza was actually being planned months before Occupy Wall Street was first called for in July.) Dubbed “NOW DC” — the National Occupation of Washington, D.C. — it’s supposed to begin on Mar. 30 and run for as long as one month. Several of those behind it met in New York on Jan. 7 (at the office of this newspaper) to start setting NOW DC in motion. They also came to 16 Beaver the next day. While Occupy Wall Street was still deciding what to do for the next few months, this group was well into discussing how to do it.

“The Occupy movement isn’t really into planning the way we are,” said Kevin Zeese, a onetime Ralph Nader campaign manager, during the NOW DC discussions. And he’s right. Even while meeting to plan and strategize, those at 16 Beaver weren’t ready to do away with the improvisational, reactive free-for-all that had brought Occupy Wall Street to the world’s attention in the first place. An organizer with a red, white and blue bandana over his long, curly hair pointed out that their most carefully planned marches had tended to stay on the sidewalks, where police wanted them. “We took the road only when we didn’t plan ahead,” he said. “Let’s just remember that.”

Britain warns Russia not to block UN effort over Syria

From Refreshing News

 January 30, 2012

Posted by pooja

Downing Street warned Russia on Monday not to block efforts at the United Nations to bring a peaceful resolution to unrest in Syria.

Foreign Secretary William Hague was on Monday flying to New York to lend Britain’s support to an Arab-backed draft resolution calling on the country’s authoritarian leader Bashar al-Assad to step down and pave the way for a transfer of power.

The Arab League’s secretary general Nabil Elaraby will on Tuesday brief Security Council members, including Mr Hague, on the findings of its recent mission to monitor the Assad regime’s response to widespread protests against his rule.

The suspension of the mission at the weekend was followed by an upsurge in violence, with reports of at least 62 deaths as regime forces stormed rebel strongholds in the capital Damascus and around the country.

Western powers including Britain and France are pushing for the adoption this week of the resolution tabled by current Security Council member Morocco, which would give international backing to an Arab League timetable for the transition of power in Syria to a unity government, followed by free elections.

But Russia was on Monday resisting a swift vote, saying it wanted to “study the recommendations and conclusions of the observer mission in detail” before moving to a substantive discussion in the Security Council.

Deputy foreign minister Gennady Gatilov last week signalled that Moscow may wield its veto to block the draft resolution in its current form. In October, Russia and China blocked a Western-backed draft resolution condemning Assad’s government for its crackdown on protesters.

Downing Street said: “We believe that the UN must act to support the people of Syria and that Russia can no longer explain blocking the UN and providing cover for the regime’s brutal repression.”

A spokeswoman added: “There is hope to agree a UN Security Council resolution this week and to make it very clear to President Assad and his regime that the killing must stop.

“We’ve been working in New York to support a text drafted by Arab members of the Security Council, which promotes a regional approach to the crisis.

“The Foreign Secretary is travelling to New York to show support for the Arab League and their work to bring a peaceful and Syrian-led solution to the current crisis.”

Russia’s Foreign Ministry says it has invited Syrian authorities and opposition for talks in Moscow.

The ministry said in a statement on Monday that Syrian authorities have already agreed to come. The ministry is hoping that opposition leaders will send their reply in the coming days. The opposition has balked at holding talks with the regime, saying the violence must end first.

Dog Poet Transmitting…….

May your noses always be cold and wet.

As they crank up the inevitable engines of war in search of deeper darkness, the brainwashing continues apace; not that it’s all that hard to wash a fundie’s brain, since that system already functions like sending a tank top to the dry cleaners.

The flavor of the month is about to change, well, it did change, sort of, last week or so. Anyway, what Red Adelson wants, Red Adelson gets, until he changes his mind. We’ve got revolving front runners, kind of like if a bunch of meth-infused 6th graders started to go nuts on a merry go round; or would that be Ritalin deprived? I don’t quite get how Romney’s wife makes 6.2 million off of around ten million- except for the “possibly much more” comment, when Uncle Mitt only makes 3 million off of 37 million at Goldman’s Nut Sacks.

So the deal is, keep flipping the front runners so that the Obama Bo Bama Banana Dana, Murder and Poverty Express can “keep on choodlin” into the Armageddon Sunset. He’ll be accompanied by disclaimers which state he doesn’t support Israel, which should keep his support relatively high among those who believe the crap on the surface, when even the surface says that is a lie. Anyway, any fool knows there isn’t going to be any election. Then again, there hasn’t been an election in a long, long time.

Some people get upset about senior citizens eating cat and dog food. I guess they haven’t seen all the creative things that Haitian families can do with mud. Given that some houses are made of adobe, you could almost make an argument for Haitians living in gingerbread houses; metaphorically speaking. Meanwhile, hundreds of millions in Clinton-Bushligula and other unsavory financial holding tanks of interest gathering donations, bobbing like Mylar balloons over the bed of a terminal cancer patient, endlessly circle the starved and blasted landscape below. Exactly why do these funds from so many sources still remain unavailable after so many years? Why did all that money that went to rebuild Iraq either disappear or remain locked up in Rothschild war profiteering battle field banks? Gee, you have to ask?

Well, it’s fairly obvious that we need a row of inhabited lampposts, in a modern day flashback to Spartacus and the boys, along the golden roads to Rome redux; blow me once, shame on me. Oh well. “We who are about to die salute you”. That should be, “We who intend to live refute you” but the script girl spent the previous night in a hot-tub, jacked down on Quaaludes. The speed of stupidity equals ignorance squared by inert mass to the tenth power.

Onward we trudge through the mud and the blood and the bullshit and high waders aren’t the solution. A kayak might work but then there’s all those things that live below the mire line. The good and bad news is that anything will burn if the fire is hot enough. Can I get witless? Darling, you are.

Word has it that they are erecting a statue in the West Village, of Harris Milstead snacking on poodle shit. That’s what the American wet dream is all about. When your mind is a Petri dish, this is the kind of thing modern art aficionados lose their lunch over. Harris will probably be snacking on that too, if it happens and the whole thing will be art; managed and ministered by the usual suspects who handle art the way they handle dead gerbils in the aftermath and possibly in the afterlife as well. I suspect in that latter case the gerbils are no longer dead and have been reverse Bonzaied.

Johnny can’t read anymore but he can definitely jerk off. Contrary to folk wisdom it does not make hair grow on the palms of your hand. It does make it grow backwards inside your head though, until a trap door spider takes up residence, giving a whole new meaning to, “feed your head”. Of course, if this was just a movie it would probably be funny but it’s real life. Real life calls for real solutions, like creating a nationwide energy retrieval system from wiring the bouncing legs of all those teenage girls text messaging the universe. No wonder the aliens never land. Would you come here if you had a flying saucer? I didn’t think so.

There’s going to be so much food for the moon soon that the moon is going to turn pink from Pepto Bismol overdosing. It’s just like what happens if you drink a couple of quarts of carrot juice every day. The people who can afford that deserve to turn orange. Then they can move to Denver and become celebrities. Yes, shit for brains is finally home on the range, where the deer and the antelope are going to be on barbecue standby for that big refrigerator grill, replicating all across the wide prairie; abandoned urban lots, woodland clearings, road side pullovers and under the over passes. Dead in the flood drains is the new under over.

Meanwhile, Porky Pig’s extended family is running the show. Of course, Porky’s been supplementing his daily crack allowance with oxycodone and he’s got one rabid silver back gorilla of a habit on his bacon location. This has, quite ‘frankly’ made him less sensitive and sympathetic to the needs of others. I guess you can say that goes for the whole extended family of porcine, reptilian hybrids, tending the massive flocks of “Idiocracy” rejects. The mental health graph of public well being now only goes from neurotic to batshit crazy, with ‘insane’ being the median. There’s a drive by pharmacy in your future, coming to the corner block of your street, real soon. Well, there would be if you had a future.

Of course, it’s not all bad and worse. There is some good and better. It’s hiding in foothills and abandoned mountain ranges, in places where the minerals have already been sucked dry. It’s deep in jungles and on islands with no beaches and there are islands of consciousness too, connected by invisible webs of resonance that span the globe and vibrate into the hearts and minds of those who might well have read a book in the last year or two. It’s out there and in there but not necessarily in the first place you show up, to see if it matches up, with whatever demonstrations you put into place to get it to reveal intrinsic nature.

No and yes, there are good things seeking to be born into a world, where the children of what has yet to make an appearance, will dance on the mountaintops for joy in a new morning of rebooted time, where innocence is celebrated and broken hearts are made whole by the adhesive of a resurgent love but… later for that. Right now we must, perforce, look into the gaping maw of demagogues and deviants who have ridden the high speed trains of collective, insensate puerility and rampaging appetite to doomsday’s break.

We are on the plains of apocalyptic resolution, where countless legions of Teletubbies march into the teeth of the cosmic, thresher combine. You won’t have to ask again why the sky is blue. Barney the Dinosaur is waving that construction flag into the single lane bypass. Ronald McDonald is at the other end. You got to go slow during this unfortunate bottleneck but there’s a sense that, somehow, this indicates one last opportunity to simply stop the car, get out and pick your way over the plastic barriers and then through the rebar forest until you can climb the kudzu hill and make it into the woods, if the snipers don’t get you first.

I always thought when we got to Brave New World, there would at least be a ready source of Soma but I suspect that’s par for the course. Brave New World without Soma is a ripoff, to say the least. I guess you all know that Aldous Huxley got shot up with LSD on his death bed and allegedly said, “Now I see”?

Of course, the same got attributed to Sam Kinnison as well, when those drunken idiots in a pickup truck crashed into him and then got out and started moaning about the damage to their truck. Actually, what Sam said was, “I don’t want to die.  I don’t want to die.” then he said “But why?  ‘Okay, okay, okay.” then again, Sam wasn’t wearing a seat belt. Nietzsche also was reputed to have said something to the effect of, “Now I see”. I’m guessing there are many other examples and variants. What do you think you will say, given the importance of the moment?

Hmmmm… well, we have indeed come to the end of another transmission and I’ll see you at the next one if there is one. Meanwhile, keep in mind that things are not what they appear, nor are they generally what you hear. Everything happens for a reason, even if you don’t know what that reason is.

End Transmission…….

How do we change our world for the better ?

The ” Declaration of Spiritual Independence ” Reality Shift at Danimart.com

Posted by Xaniel777 on March 11, 2011

Good question is, ” How do we change our world for the better and remove all ( the Anunnaki, the Powers That Were, and Hostile Alien Life Forms, if any ) that have enslaved and abused us? “

Here Is your answer below :

Give some serious consideration to this important message which comes from New Reality Transmission. And although there was more to it, here is the heart of that message which can and will help you to help all of us, to change our world without the help of Off Worlders, whatever their intent may be !

According to the most well tested theory in physics, Quantum Mechanics, your consciousness changes reality. In this theory, the phenomenon known as the collapse of the Quantum Wave Function is what brings reality into existance. This is a fancy way of saying that one’s conscious observation of small unseen waves to ” collapse ” into matter.

In other words, conscious observation materializes particles into existence. So if we believe that we will experience 2012 cataclysms, could this tip the scale and cause such possibilities to occur? And is it possible that we can heal our planet and pervent cataclysms? Could we visualize world peace into existence through a massive pulse of belief transmitted by one million people around the world at the same time?

The answer is ” YES “!

How to make this work per person :

Use your intuition to make a decision on whether or not your consciousness exists outside of your body. And decide; does it exist even when your body dies? If your intuition leads you, then jump into this belief with all your heart. Go for it.

Next, visualize your consciousness as a swirling cloud around your body that creates the perception of your physical existence. Imagine that this cloud is waiting for you to give it instructions. Again, listen to your intuition. And if it feels true, then choose to believe it firmly. Now, in your mind’s eye, see your vortex cloud rapidly spiraling as it waits for you to steer it into action. It’s your choice. You can create your reality just like you subconsciously create your dreams every night.

But if you are oblivious to this ability, then your life is like a flag being blown in the wind…and you’re like a passenger riding on a train going in circles. So visualize that your mind’s attention is gently taking control of this spirialing cloud, which can change the Reality Matrix of your world. See it!

Now point your spiraling consciousness vortex out and forward towards Earth’s future. See a calm and harmonious world blossoming after a massive planet wide awakening takes place in the months ahead. Visualize this awakening as being a shocker, similar to our whole species believing the Earth is flat on Friday and then on Monday realizing with delight that it is actually spherical.

Make pictures in your mind of CNN announcing breaking news of the empirical proof that human consciousness exists outside of the body…the scientific validation of the existence of the soul and of the interconnection between all souls. Imagine that under the crushing weight of this offical new reality, there is a crumbling of the brittle old house of fear-based mental delusion in its three forms. Fear of dying becomes a joke. Fear of people taking your gold becomes silly. And fear of people laughing at you becomes irrational.

Envision the true cooperative hearts of your planetary family coalescing like millions of rain drops on giant green leaves. Now stop a minute and ask yourself a question. Is this audacious reality possible? If there’s nothing you can think of which makes it absolutely impossible, then by definition it’s possible. And therefore large numbers of us can literally will it into reality with our minds. So continue “ programming ” your consciousness vortex with this template energized by belief and activated by visualization.

See pictures in your mind of people around the world abruptly awakening from a trance and realizing that their group belief controls their group experience of reality in exactly the same way we create the reality landscapes within our dreams. See the whole planet being hit with the surprising understanding that reality is exactly like a group dream, where there are two ways to exist. The first way is how we’ve dreamed for eons; the lie in which we’ve relinquished our reality control and been pushed around by our nightmares and limitations.

The new way will be to wake up and take control and fly together in a new fearless reality that we co-created like a beautiful group mosaic. So envision our species enlightened by this major scientific discovery of the Reality Matrix…which leads hundreds of millions of us to wake up and fearlessly change the story that we are experiencing together.

Now, see your consciousness vortex intertwining with one million others, who are all projecting this New Reality Transmission into our future at the same time. Amplify both your belief that it is actually working and increase the color and brightness of the pictures you are envisioning. Belief and visualization are your two keys to creating within the Reality Matrix.

Now New Reality Transmission’s goal is to get a million people world wide to use the ideas above on a special date ( 11.11 ) and make change as a group. See their link above to join. However, each of us can do this at any time, and the more we do it, the stronger that Reality Shift will become. Always remember, You are the power! So, your power joining with everyone else’s power can shape and create the Reality we desire. We do not need the help of the Global Federation or anyone else to do for us what we ourselves can do without them!

Police State : X-ray scans while driving next to a line of vehicles

                  A ‘ Z Backscatter Van ‘

Posted by ProPublica

This is a Z Backscatter van. It can perform X-ray scans while driving next to a line of vehicles, and delivers about twice the level of radiation as airport scanners. Soldiers in Iraq nicknamed it the “white devil.”

The NYPD owns some. They’ve been used at the Super Bowl. And they’re an example of how law enforcement has increased the use and dose of X-ray devices that were once considered taboo.

Read more about them here: http://www.propublica.org/article/drive-by-scanning-officials-expand-use-and-dose-of-radiation-for-security-s

To help determine the extent of the use of these devices, we’re seeking stories from those who have had personal experience. You’re welcome to share your stories in a private email to xray@propublica.org. All comments and information are appreciated.

Will You Occupy AIPAC?

From Occupy AIPAC

January 23rd, 2012 · Posted by

Dear friends,

We are excited to announce that plans for OCCUPY AIPAC are under way and we hope you will join us March 2-6 in Washington DC.

With the Occupy movement that has swept the country demanding social and economic justice, many have concluded that AIPAC—the powerful pro-Israeli government lobby that distorts U.S. policy in the Middle East— is a mandatory “occupy target”.

Adbusters, the magazine that issued the initial visionary call for the takeover of Wall St. on September 17th, has declared: The time has come for the Occupy Movement to demand an end to the Occupation of Palestine… We need a hashtag, #occupyAIPAC” (Kalle Lasn).

Timed to coincide with the annual AIPAC policy conference in March 2012, the Occupy AIPAC summit will be a long weekend of teach-ins, cultural performances, protests and creative direct actions, and a sneak preview of the forthcoming film Roadmap to Apartheid.

Co-sponsored by The Nation, the Institute of Policy Studies, CODEPINK and Just Foreign Policy, the Saturday conference will feature educational panels on Iran, Palestine, the Arab Uprisings and the Occupy Movement (see the list of speakers).

The Occupy AIPAC summit is endorsed and supported by a variety of organizations including the Interfaith Peace Builders (IFPB), the US Palestinian Community Network (USPCN), Jewish Voice for Peace, Students for Justice in Palestine chapters, and over 120 other groups.

Right now AIPAC is trying to drag us into a disastrous conflict with Iran, just as they had pushed for the Iraq war. We must show our opposition by exposing AIPAC and standing against a war with Iran. AIPAC’s underhanded tactics and their manipulation of our political process destroys the possibility of a just peace in the Middle East.

Recent public criticisms of the Israel lobby make the call to Occupy AIPAC all the more relevant.

Now is the time to make a large, people-powered push to show our opposition to the stranglehold the Israel lobby continues to hold over our government.

Register for the conference or support this summit with a donation. Your outreach and presence is critical to help us ensure a strong turnout, because now is the time to Occupy AIPAC, not Palestine!

In solidarity,
Medea, Rae, Alli and Sasha
The Occupy AIPAC team

In addition to peace and justice groups around the country, we are reaching out to Occupy communities for support and participation (see the Occupy AIPAC GA resolution). If your group would like to endorse or join this effort, please email occupyaipac@gmail.com.

Facebook Admits To Sharing Your Personal Data

From Site trail

It’s no secret that Facebook harvest user data, but what’s not so clear is just what the world’s biggest social network does with it. Well, the suspense can be put aside for at least a little while because Facebook has for the first time admitted to this data mining and even gone as far as to say what it will do with the data.

Facebook made an official announcement last week that in keeping with its monitoring of election fervor in the US, it will mine data from posts and comments and share that data with Politico.

According to the statement: “Facebook will compile mentions of the candidates in U.S. users’ posts and comments as well as assess positive and negative sentiments expressed about them. Facebook’s data team will use automated software tools frequently used by researchers to infer sentiment from text.”

Social media was such a big part of Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign that it is hardly surprising that this year’s election hopefuls are using it as key tool for mobilizing votes. And while some candidates are better at tapping the power of social media for an advantage, Facebook’s overt involvement will certainly make things easier—at least from a strategy perspective.

Do you think Facebook’s data mining exercise is a pretext for more covert digging into user data? Share your thoughts through e-mail or social media ! Spread the word and find out what your family and friends truly think of all this.

The War on Truth: Defending Palestinian Rights Can End Your Career

Canadian Professor Denis Rancourt Eliminated for Allowing Palestinian Activists to Speak to His Students

As sociologist James Petras has observed, our era has seen the dawn and, in large measure, the gradual fruition of the “globalization of Zionist power”, a process which Benjamin Netanyahu initiated with the publication of Terrorism: How the West Can Win (1986).

Since 9/11, a false-flag event which Israel was heavily involved in, we have not only witnessed the use of military force to shatter Arab states into smaller statelets at enormous cost to many a nation’s treasury but we have also seen our academic institutions forced to comply with the mythology that underlies the “war on terror”, which has resulted in the degradation of our public educational capacity.

Denis Rancourt, Ph.D., is a victim of this post-9/11 politicization of academia. In March of 2009, the professor of physics saw his accomplished career of 23 years abruptly brought to an end, at least temporarily, when he was dubiously fired by the University of Ottawa administration based on a litany of false-pretexts. Rancourt has always been fiercely independent intellectually and has been unwilling to aid and abet the war machine.

                 The University of Ottawa

Indeed, Denis challenges power whenever it should be challenged, which means that he could be described as a true revolutionary. A prominent champion of the Palestinian struggle against Israeli colonization, he was fired ostensibly because he had decided to challenge the hierarchical grading method typically employed by academics.

“My job is not to rank students for corporations”, Rancourt has stated in an interview on TV-ONTARIO. His pedagogical methodology in advanced physics courses, which was to use a student-centered individualized approach, is one widely used throughout campuses in North America. Indeed, as a nice illustration of the double standard displayed by those who used Rancourt’s grading method as a pretext for firing him, another professor at his very institution has been celebrated for using the very same teaching method.

The difference between them, however, appears to be that Professor X is a supporter of Israeli colonization, whereas Rancourt is a defender of international law and of the rights of the Palestinian people.

YouTube – Veterans Today –

The contrived “false-pretexts” that have been used to oust him have been numerous and varied and provide sufficient material for several articles and even multiple books. Here is a “thumbnail sketch” of some of the horrors to which this distinguished professor has been subjected (as a recounting of his own personal experiences):

(1) Dean bursts into classroom, forced to apologize
In September 2005 the dean of the Faculty of Science barged into tenured professor Denis Rancourt’s Physics and the Environment class unannounced to the students and declared that the class was cancelled and that professor Rancourt would be removed if needed before the course could be continued.

This had a lasting negative impact on the course and caused damage to the professor’s reputation and relationship to the class. The resulting grievance was settled by the union with a written apology from the university dated November 7, 2007. The university followed the dean’s in-class outburst with a letter of discipline against Rancourt for allegedly subverting the content of the course. The latter discipline and false claim of subversion were overturned by a labour arbitration award (Michel G. Picher arbitrator; June 25, 2008).

(2) Fabricated existence of a student complaint
In a letter dated October 25, 2005, the dean of the Faculty of Science threatened professor Rancourt with discipline regarding an alleged student complaint that the dean did not provide to professor Rancourt. When Rancourt grieved the matter and repeatedly asked to be shown the alleged student complaint by any mechanism (such as via a lawyer or accepted third party) to preserve the student’s identity, a student complaint about the alleged matter was never produced.

Instead, the grievance process led to the dean retracting in writing (November 22, 2005) all his letters and allegations of a student complaint in view of discipline. The University never apologized for or repaired the harm from the dean’s demonstrably false claim and intimidation. (A further grievance that the dean had lied was not assumed by the professor’s union.)

Denis Rancourt was the “star professor” of the University of Ottawa until he began defending Palestinian rights

(3) Ad hoc barriers against professor booking classrooms
Starting in 2006 and every semester until the 2009 wrongful dismissal of Denis Rancourt, the dean of the Faculty of Science, the chairman of the Department of Physics, the VP-Governance and the President interfered in numerous and coordinated ways to frustrate and block my various bookings of classrooms for extra help sessions, workshop time related to scheduled courses, and a weekly documentary film and discussion series (Cinema Politica).

Unprecedented administrative barriers were applied and ultimately the weekly film and discussion series was outright barred using the false pretext that I was an outside group and that these activities were not part of my professional service to the community, despite a dean’s earlier (2006) written confirmation to the opposite. The same series was then allowed to be scheduled by a colleague who agreed to act as the guarantor of the classroom for Cinema Politica renamed Cinema Academica.

(4) Illegitimate directives on grading methods

Since 9/11 there has been increased collaboration between university administrators and police. Professor Denis Rancourt held his foot in the door of his laboratory for more than three hours to resist the encroachment of the police state onto his and his student’s academic freedom

In December 2005 the dean of the Faculty of Science in writing arbitrarily forbade professor Rancourt from using the satisfactory/not-satisfactory (S/NS) grading method, claiming that this was not allowed. The dean went on to send a memo to all faculty staff reaffirming his claim that professors did not have the discretion to use the S/NS grading method.

A labour arbitration award (Michel G. Picher arbitrator; June 25, 2008) established that my use of the S/NS grading method was protected under the purview of my academic freedom. In addition, a union association grievance caused the university to declare the dean’s December 2005 memo to all staff retracted and without standing (February 2009 settlement).

The University never apologized for or repaired its violation of my academic freedom regarding these grading directives.
(5) Overturned discipline for “subverting” course
Following the successful completion of professor Rancourt’s fall-2005 Physics and the Environment course and despite a signed September 2005 agreement with the university that it would allow the course to precede in the manner planned by professor Rancourt and the students, the dean of the Faculty of Science nonetheless disciplined me for having attempted to “subvert” the purpose of the course.

The discipline was grieved and the grievance went to labour law arbitration. In a precedent-setting award (Michel G. Picher arbitrator; June 25, 2008), the arbitrator found that “… the major change being with respect to the pedagogical innovation of independent group studies, the involvement of the students themselves in identifying areas of interest and the introduction of the satisfactory/not-satisfactory grading system. The Arbitrator is satisfied that those pedagogical initiatives were legitimately within the purview of the academic freedom enjoyed by Professor Rancourt …” A law journal review of the arbitration was entitled “Teachind Science Through Social Activism is Protected by Academic Freedom, Abitrator Rules” (College and University Employment Law E-Bulletin, February 2009, Issue No. 23).

(6) Failed attempt to discipline for “anti-Semitism”, hyperbolic claim
In November 2005 the dean of the Faculty of Science in several letters falsely and boldly claimed anti-Semitism based solely on a campus Jewish student association’s (Jewish Student Association, JSA) complaint about a guest speaker, himself a professor, in one of Rancourt’s classes.

The accusation was that the guest professor had shown a map of the Middle East from a web site (having articles critical of Israel) that the JSA considered anti-Semitic. Despite the obvious concocted nature of the JSA claim aimed at attacking the guest professor, the dean went after Rancourt. Following a grievance, the university in a September 2009 settlement agreement retracted and declared void all of its letters of allegations in the matter.
(7) Failed attempt to discipline for critical comments

Also in November 2005 the dean of the Faculty of Science in several letters pursued Rancourt under the threat of discipline to retract critical statements Rancourt had broadcast about the lack of fundamental understanding of physics concepts by teachers and teacher assistants at the University of Ottawa — as part of Rancourt’s broad explanation of his pedagogical methods in a course which the dean was attacking (Physics and the Environment, fall-2005). Following a grievance, the university in a September 2009 settlement agreement retracted and declared void all of its letters of allegations in the matter.
(8) Condoned campaign of defamation and intimidation

In the two-year period 2006-2007 the dean of the Faculty of Science and the university administration condoned repeated and sustained unethical, defamatory and libellous attacks (approximately 100 incidents) against professor Rancourt by Chairman of Chemistry Alain St-Amant. These attacks included several derogatory broadcasts about Rancourt’s courses and an unsubstantiated claim in the media that one course was replete with anti-Semitic content.

St-Amant also publicly insulted and belittled students who were openly supportive of Rancourt’s courses. Following many student complaints against St-Amant, a grievance, and several letters to the administration, St-Amant was ordered to stop only in late 2007 and this was confirmed by a letter from the dean to Rancourt dated November 6, 2007. Professor St-Amant was never made to correct his many false broadcasts or to apologize to students and Rancourt.

No reparations were ever made.
(9) Covert information gathering campaign, 2006-2008
In the period 2006-2008 the university organized and operated a broad campaign of covert information gathering against professor Rancourt and several students. It hired a student journalist for this purpose. The student took on a false Facebook identity to integrate student groups and also reported on live student political campaign meetings and governance meetings directly to the dean of the Faculty of Science and the university Legal Counsel.

The covert campaign included gathering voice recordings, obtained under false pretexts, of professor Rancourt’s talks on other campuses, as far as British Columbia. Weekly reports were provided by the student reporter, as shown in access to information documents. The matter is extensively documented thanks to access to information (ATI) results. The teacher assistant union grieved the covert campaign and struck a pre-arbitration settlement.

The university has to date continued to illegally refused to proceed with professor Rancourt’s grievance about its covert campaign.
(10) Abuse of process to intimidate and suppress

In 2007 the dean of the Faculty of Science improperly used his right to call informal information meetings with an employee as a device to make several aggressive face to face interrogations with the purpose of applying discipline in relation to ridiculous charges including:

(1) making me responsible for a statement in a third party press release,

(2) that there had been improper course content in my fall 2006 Science in Society course (in the absence of any investigation), and

(3) that I had hired an unqualified non-student to do specialized scientific research about environmental nano-particles.

Charge (3) was dropped without an apology and never resurfaced after the dean’s intimidation sessions.

Charge (1) led to a disciplinary reprimand that would make a professor responsible for what others, in a press release, say he said and that is demonstrably false. The latter discipline is grieved by the union and awaits arbitration.

Charge (2) led to a disciplinary reprimand (without due investigation) in which the choice of invited speakers in the course was argued to be inappropriate. The latter discipline is grieved by the union and awaits arbitration.

(11) Abusive letter alleging mental wellbeing concern
In September 2007 the dean of the Faculty of Science sent me a disturbing letter expressing without explanation that “The University of Ottawa has developed some concerns regarding your physical and mental wellbeing.” An access to information request and appeal documented that the dean first alleged to the IPC (Information and Privacy Commissioner) that he had acted alone in this matter based only on informal conversations with an undisclosed number of unidentified colleagues and that there were no respondent records; whereas on appeal to the IPC a large number of respondent records established that the disturbing letter had arisen from a broad covert process with several university executives and staff.

(12) Violation of academic freedom, research project denied
In 2007 I was barred from offering a research project course about “politics and ethics in the physics profession”, in violation of established practice for research project courses and in violation of academic freedom. The course was not allowed on the schedule and students were barred from registration.

(13) A plan develops to focus on grades as a pretext for dismissal
In November 2007 the dean of the Faculty of Science imposed a disciplinary reprimand for high student grades in a winter-2006 introductory physics course, without any investigation and based solely on the university-approved grades being higher than in previous years. This late and fabricated charge, following university (department and faculty) approval of the high grades, is now used as supporting discipline for the 2008 grades pretext used in my dismissal (see below).

(14) Failed attempt to silence by lawsuit intimidations
In 2007 my “U of O Watch” blog was attacked using several threats of libel lawsuits against me, two students and a student newspaper. The threats of lawsuits came from the University of Ottawa VP-Resources Victor Simon using the BLG law firm directed in Ottawa by Marc Jolicoeur who, at the time, was President of the university’s Board of Governors (BOG). The university and Mr. Simon objected to documented blog posts showing that Mr. Simon had altered a document and fraudulently used the altered document and that the President argued that this was acceptable because Mr. Simon “was trying to make a point”.

(15) Unjustified barring from all large first-year-level courses
In 2007 I was barred from all the first-year (introductory-level) science and physics courses that I had developed and always given, including the unique courses Science in Societyand Physics and the Environment. I was barred from all large classes and assigned only small advanced physics courses. This was done without explanation and caused much added re-scheduling efforts for other professors. The Science in Society course was the result of significant student effort to have it approved and it was only ever offered once (fall-2006).

(16) Illegitimate use of copyright law to violate academic freedom
In 2007 I received a disciplinary reprimand and in 2008 I was disciplined by unpaid suspension for using images from the university’s web site on my “U of O Watch” blog which is critical of the university.

An administrative directive allows images from the university web site to be used by professors “solely for the positive promotion of activities related to the University”. The administrative directive is a violation of academic freedom and is thereby void. All the images and many more remain on my blog and have not led to further attempts of discipline or legal challenges despite the university’s initial charge from Legal Counsel that it “may take whatever action it deems necessary to protect its intellectual property rights.”
NOTE: June 2008 is the start of Allan Rock’s first mandate as president of the university.

(17) Summarily removed from all teaching
In 2008 I was barred from all teaching using the pretext of an on-going “investigation” into the student grades to the 23 students in one course of the winter-2008 semester. Despite being a tenured professor, I was never allowed to teach any courses after the winter-2008 semester. I was not allowed to practice my profession until the university’s fast-track dismissal of me in 2009.

(18) Bogus attempt to remove graduate supervision credentials
In 2008 I was subjected to an orchestrated campaign to remove my membership in the school of graduate studies, using criteria (bogus administrative technicalities) other than the only accepted criteria (of research supervision and research expertise) for membership in the school. Irregularities in the planned fast-track removal of my credentials caused the campaign to be delayed and it could not be completed before the 2009 dismissal. My eight graduate students and post-doctoral fellow rejected the campaign and affirmed my qualities as a supervisor and researcher.

(19) Violation of academic freedom in undergraduate research project supervision
In 2008 I was barred from supervising or co-supervising a research project course about “the influence of advances in human thought (all disciplines) in the development of physical theories” because it was ruled – based only on a title and short promotional description to prospective physics students – to not be a “physics” research project. A registered physics student keen to pursue this course was improperly deregistered by the university to prevent the course from being offered by any professor.

(20) Violation of academic freedom in supervising planetary warming physics research
In October 2008, while I was a tenured and full professor and a leading scientific researcher in several areas of science including environmental science, the dean of the Faculty of Science covertly intervened at high levels within the university to bar me from supervising research in my chosen research area of the physics of planetary warming processes. As a result, a prospective scholarship physics graduate student was barred from applying to my research group. This was only discovered after the University was ordered (IPC Order PO-2909-I) on appeal to release a key access to information record.

(21) Illegitimate sudden lock out of all researchers from the laboratory
In November 2008 all my research graduate students and post-doctoral fellow (eight persons supervised by me) were ejected and locked out of my laboratory of 22 years for which I was legally responsible, without any forewarning or explanation. Only a four-hour physical standoff with my foot in the door and surrounded by Ottawa Police, campus police and a union representative produced a union-negotiated agreement that the university would explain itself at a mediation meeting the following week. The university provided a bogus excuse based on a “radiation security policy” that was being developed and agreed to re-open the laboratory. On re-entering the laboratory it was found that essential research materials (radioactive sources) for which I was legally responsible had been removed, again without notice or explanation, thereby blocking all scientific experiments.

(22) Unannounced summary dismissal of research associate of 12-years
In November 2008 my post-doctoral fellow (research associate) of more than 12 years was summarily fired and locked out of her office and my laboratory without notice or explanation. She sued the university and (by settlement) this produced her legal fees, a cash reparation, and a letter of apology/explanation.

(23) Arbitrarily barred from campus under threat of police arrest
In December 2008, while I was a full and tenured professor with outstanding 22-year research and teaching record, having developed several of the most novel and popular graduate and undergraduate courses in the Faculty of Science and having obtained some of the largest research funding awards in the Faculty of Science, I was summarily barred from all campus grounds and facilities under the threat of police arrest and accompanied off campus by campus police, with the pretext given that it had been recommended to the Board of Governors that I be fired for attributing high grades in one course from the winter-2008 semester.

(24) Coercion and blackmail for graduate students to change supervisors
The latter barring from campus was accompanied by a university campaign to coerce the resisting graduate students to immediately abandon me as their research supervisor and accept alternative supervisors, under the pretext that I had been suspended from my supervisory role and all administrative duties. Several students filed lawsuits (later abandoned for reasons of cost) and unresolved/on-going internal complaints about the heavy handed intimidation (such as threats of loss of scholarship) to abandon their supervisor.

(25) Illegal barring from allowed venues using Ottawa Police force

The December 2008 barring from campus was explicitly extended to bar me from my weekly campus radio show (since 2005) at the studio legally occupied by the CHUO 89.1 FM corporation and explicitly extended to bar me from the weekly public documentary film and discussion series that I hosted continuously for many years (2005-2009), in an auditorium where the legal occupier was a colleague who had duly reserved the space. In January 2009, while I was still a full and tenured professor, the university had me arrested, handcuffed and removed by Ottawa Police for attending the film and discussion series, improperly using the charge of “trespass”. The charge was abandoned at trial on the second hearing date before the judge.

(26) Violation of natural rights to a fair process
In January-March 2009, during the required process following the December 2008 recommendation for dismissal, several violations of process and natural justice were perpetrated by the university, including: (1) demanding student examination copies as alleged key evidence followed by refusal to consider this evidence when provided under duress, and (2) refusal to admit and consider duly submitted written submissions to the Board of Governors for making its final dismissal decision. These process violations compounded the fact that, using its ad hoc pretext of fraudulent grading, the university systematically refused to duly investigate or consider the pedagogical context of my grading method; my teaching was never investigated by a committee of my peers or by any of the process steps foreseen in the procedural rules for tenured professors.

(27) Public defamation, interference and bias
During the January-March 2009 period, in an atmosphere of intense local, national, and international media attention in the dismissal process, the university ignored its often stated position that it cannot bias or harm on-going legal processes by making public comments, and released two press communications (still present on its web site; one was modified after first release) that attacked my professional reputation. In addition, high-ranking executives of the university (including the President) have made various inappropriate written statements siding with the university position and commenting on the process.

Among the main protagonists of the persecution of Professor Rancourt, moreover, has been the former member of the Canadian parliament Allan Rock, who was appointed as the President of the University of Ottawa in June 2008. Rock had just emerged from the inner sanctum of the Canadian political class after having served as Canada’s Minister of Justice and then as Ambassador to the United Nations. Rancourt has listed a number of illustrations of Rock’s allegiance to the pariah state of Israel rather than to the principles of truth and justice:

“Allan Rock’s ardent support for Israeli policy is evidenced both in his political career and in his actions on campus as president at the University of Ottawa: In 2004, under Martin’s Liberal government and as Canada’s Ambassador to the UN, Allan Rock changed Canada’s longstanding foreign policy on Israel from abstaining on human rights resolutions for Palestine to being one of the few countries in the World that vote with the US and Israel against UN human rights resolutions for Palestine. In July 2008 the media reported that Allan Rock participated in a trip to Israel “partly financed by the Canadian Council for Israel and Jewish Advocacy (CIJA)”, along with five other Canadian university presidents. The media reported that Mr. Rock’s visit “yielded immediate results” as “the University of Ottawa agreed to launch an exchange program in law.”

As Canada’s Ambassador to the UN, Allan Rock changed Canada’s longstanding foreign policy on Israel from abstaining on human rights resolutions for Palestine to being one of the few countries in the World that votes with the US and Israel against UN human rights resolutions for Palestine

After a few months in office, President Allan Rock announced his plan in October 2008 for the University of Ottawa. This plan included what he calls putting “Canada’s University in the service of the World”. In explaining it to students on October 24, 2008, he talked about exchange programs. When one student asked if Palestinian students would be allowed to participate in the exchange programs with Israel, Mr. Rock stated that he could not answer that. In the fall of 2008, the University of Ottawa chapter of the independent student-run Ontario Public Interest Research Group (OPIRG) took a principled stand in line with its mission statement and refused to sponsor a Hillel event due to that organization’s stated unqualified support for Israeli policy.

Allan Rock responded by pressuring the student union (SFUO) president to write a letter condemning OPIRG. A letter from the SFUO president delineated the administrative relationships between the SFUO and OPIRG and this letter was made public by Allan Rock on his president’s “Rock Talk” blog.

Allan Rock also publicly stated that he would look for an “administrative” mechanism to deny OPIRG student-levy funding (which has been approved by a student referendum).

In 2009 the Rock administration banned a student poster announcing Israeli Apartheid Week – a move widely criticized in some media such as the CBC and in the student media.”

Far too many academicians, alas, are willing to accept blood-money to study everything and anything that poses no challenge the ongoing genocide of Arabs and Muslims in the Middle East. Indeed the persecution of Denis Rancourt had a great deal to do with him inviting Palestinian speakers into his classroom, as he explains in this talk on Academic Freedom.

As Rancourt has observed,
“I would sum up the real reason for my being fired as follows: as part of the Activism course I dared to invite Palestinian speakers into the classroom and as a result of that the controlled local newspaper wrote a very damning editorial of that event in the classroom and after that, in terms of the chronology, I was removed from all first year teaching and eventually from all teaching.
“And so if you look at the chronology of the events, every time I spoke out in criticizing Israel, or gave a venue with regards to the Palestinian problem there were repercussions that followed immediately all the way up to my dismissal. . .that I believe is the real reason that I am being fired.

“The firing involved student spies, professional reporters being hired to come and tape record and write reports on my talks that I gave at other universities. I know this from Freedom of Information Requests. . . My research associate of 12 years was fired. . . . My graduate students were removed, I was not allowed to book rooms. You name it they did it. ”

Professor Kenneth Westhues of the University of Waterloo has appropriately described Rancourt as having been victim of “administrative mobbing”, a subject on which he has recently published a book, Winning, Losing, Moving On: How Professionals Deal with Workplace Harassment and Mobbing (2006). “Is this a case of workplace mobbing in academe? Yes — and more precisely, administrative mobbing” writes Westhues.
What we appear to have here turns out to be a form of academic lynching for a brilliant professor whose commitment to truth overrides his tolerance for political correctness, especially in relation to Israel and the Palestinians, for which he has been paying a very heavy price, a gross violation of his rights and a black stain on the reputation of the University of Ottawa – compliments of a former Canadian “Minister of Justice”.

The Zionist Plot to Stop Ron Paul

From 9-11 Inside Job

Updated January 25, 2012

20 January 2012 – Ron Paul speaks at a rally in Greenville, S.C. the day before the primary. Paul, who has energized the Republican party and the youth vote, drew a large crowd of several hundred despite heavy rain and frigid temperatures, according to the AP. Newt Gingrich, on the other hand, had to cancel a major campaign stop in Charleston because nobody came. With so little popular support how could Gingrich have possibly won the South Carolina primary? Is this yet another case of vote fraud by electronic voting machines? Photo: The Washington Post

But, now, how on earth could Newt Gingrich win the South Carolina primary when the day before the vote he had to cancel a major campaign stop because of lack of attendance?
– “There’s something very odd about GOP primary pre-polling and vote” by Eric Blair, 22 January 2012

I just found your site and read your book ( Solving 9/11 )… As I was reading your book I was struck how the Zionists must hate Ron Paul. This would explain why he faces such intense media bias. The other thought I had was that his proximity to winning the White House is directly proportional to his assassination.
– C.H. in Illinois

South Carolinians voting on ES&S voting machines in the presidential primary on January 21, 2012. According to the tally produced by the privately-owned voting machine company ES&S, Ron Paul came in last place behind three Big Government Zionist-funded candidates who support war against Iran. Surprise, surprise.

Ron Paul, a popular Southern conservative who supports states’ rights, supposedly came in fourth place in the South Carolina Republican primary on Saturday, January 21. The winner, according to the tally produced by the privately-owned voting machine company ES&S, was Newt Gingrich. Gingrich is supported by Sheldon Adelson, the Zionist casino billionaire who supports the most extreme hard-liners in the right-wing Likud in Israel. The Gingrich campaign received a $5 million donation from Sheldon Adelson the week before he “won” the South Carolina primary. Gingrich calls the indigenous Palestinian population an “invented” people and supports Israel’s right to attack Iran as “self defense”. Gingrich told CNN he would help Israel attack Iran and would move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem on his first day in office by executive order. These are the hard-line positions Adelson is paying Gingrich to espouse.

“Adelson uses his money to abuse or anoint Israeli prime ministers and American presidents (Gingrich versus Obama).” Source – “Is Gingrich’s Hard Line on Palestine Paid for by Sheldon Adelson?”

Las Vegas casino owner Sheldon Adelson (left) is a close friend and supporter of Benjamin Netanyahu of the right-wing Likud. Netanyahu is one of the suspected planners of the false-flag terror attacks of 9/11 and a friend of Newt Gingrich.

Mitt Romney is supported by the Crown family of Chicago, a Zionist family that is closely connected to Israeli military intelligence. Newt Gingrich, on the other hand, is supported by Sheldon Adelson, a Zionist billionaire who works closely with the same people. Are these different factions or is this a Zionist plot that has the same goal?

The Zionist strategy is to stop the very popular conservative Ron Paul. Because there is obviously no candidate that can beat Paul in popularity or on the issues, the Zionists are supporting a slew of venal candidates in order to steal as many votes as possible from Paul. These candidates are essentially a gang of Zionist-funded candidates who form the anti-Paul coalition. Using privately-owned and controlled electronic voting systems like ES&S, the South Carolina primary shows how the Zionists plan to block Ron Paul from being the Republican nominee.

From this event, one can state as fact – not theory, that Israel and its supporters in the US are actively working to derail Ron Paul’s race towards the GOP nomination, and the Presidency. This fact alone, should be cause for alarm from even the most moderate of public corridors. Should a foreign country, in this case Israel, be allowed to buy a significant influence through the media in American democratic elections? Should candidates be allowed to accept donations – even indirectly, from foreign interest PACs or agents thereof, thus creating a serious conflict of interest, and threat to national security?

After two weeks, the Republican Party of Iowa released its certified tally of the January 3 caucus. The certified final tally released on January 18 indicates that Mitt Romney did not win the Iowa caucus and that the results had been manipulated to give Romney the important first victory. The scale of the fraud in the Iowa caucus is so large that it suggests that there was a hidden hand manipulating the data from across the state as it was sent to party headquarters to give the victory to Romney. This suggests that the people behind Romney are likely to be the people behind the vote fraud, i.e. Lester Crown, Israeli intelligence, and the Zionist Fifth Column in the United States.

I spoke to Ryan Gough, the 24-year-old Organization Director for the Republican Party of Iowa on January 20. I asked him how there could be so many mistakes in so many precincts. The Des Moines Register, for example, reported that “typographical errors in tabulations” for two Fayette County precincts resulted in an inflated vote for Romney, who was initially reported to have carried the county by 67 votes. The final count showed Santorum carrying the county by 36 votes. Romney was reported to have won the caucus by only 8 votes on January 3. This was false.

There were similar problems in 131 precincts with double-digit errors in 51 precincts. In spite of the wrong candidate having been declared the winner, Gough defended the caucus, which he called a “volunteer-driven process” in which typographical errors had occurred across the state to benefit Mitt Romney. I don’t buy it.

I reminded Gough that we had spoken a week before the primary and that he had told me that the way in which that precincts would communicate the results to caucus headquarters in Des Moines was being kept secret for security purposes. Now that the caucus was over, I asked, could he tell me how this was done. Gough said that a phone and computer system had been used but he had not gone into detail. When I asked if the telephonic system had been voice-to-voice, he said it was.

I then asked Gough if any outside agency had been involved in the tally of the results on January 3. He asked me what I meant and I told him that the Democratic Party of Iowa had used a telephonic tally system based in Florida called Voxeo in 2004 and 2008. I had been told by Nicole Sizemore of the GOP of Iowa that no outside agency would be involved in the tally, I told Gough.

Yes, Gough said, there was an outside “telecom” involved in the tally, although he said he could not reveal the name of the company. This “telecom” is the most likely culprit behind the fraudulent tally in the Iowa caucus. I am seeking information from people who were involved in the caucus to find the identity of this mysterious “telecom” that gave Romney the first, but fraudulent victory on January 3. As the rest of the primaries will use even less verifiable electronic voting machine systems, solving what happened in the Iowa caucus is important because it could expose the criminals who steal our elections.

GOP officials discovered double-digit errors in 51 of those certified precincts when they compared what was reported on caucus night with the official Form E documents signed by precinct volunteers. Eleven precincts had errors of 50 or more votes.
– Des Moines Register, 19 January 2012

“The one thing that we can’t say is, we can’t certify every precinct in the state.”
– Iowa GOP Chairman Matt Strawn, 19 January 2012

When I began writing this article, just after Christmas, I was simply going to predict that Mitt Romney would win the Iowa primary by vote fraud, just like Obama and John Kerry had won the Democratic state polls of 2008 and 2004. My dire and pessimistic prediction was based solely on the fact that Romney was being supported by the high-level Zionist family of Lester Crown of Chicago. These are people who steal elections, I thought, and they will find a way for Romney to win the crucial first caucus – one way or another.

I repeatedly queried three different people at the Republican Party of Iowa about how the results would be tallied and after hearing that they would not use an outside contractor to count the votes, decided to qualify my dismal prediction by giving them the benefit of the doubt. I didn’t want to be a bearer of bad news so I wrote this (in the article below):

Mitt Romney would most likely win the caucus if the Republican Party of Iowa were to tally the caucus results using the dodgy telephonic tally system (Voxeo) used by the Iowa Democrats in 2004 and 2008. But after having intensively queried the Republican Party of Iowa about how the results will be tallied it seems to me that the Republican Party of Iowa will be tallying the results themselves in Des Moines… Let’s hope Ron Paul wins Iowa in a truly honest and transparent caucus on January 3. We certainly don’t need anymore illegal Zionist wars for profit and the people of Iowa know that as well as anyone.

Today, two weeks and three days after Romney was declared the winner in Iowa, the certified final tally from the Republican Party of Iowa shows that he did NOT win the caucus at all. The caucus process and tally were completely messed up and, according to the final, but still seriously flawed results, Rick Santorum reportedly won the caucus. There is now very clear evidence of serious vote fraud in the Iowa caucus. This cannot be simply dismissed as human error. This was criminal vote fraud that cheated the entire nation. The people involved in this case of egregious vote fraud must be investigated and prosecuted.

Here are the key extracts from the Washington Post article of 19 January 2012:

Rick Santorum won the Iowa caucuses Thursday — 16 days after the last vote was cast — when the state Republican Party said a final count showed him 34 votes ahead of Mitt Romney.

Santorum’s strange, belated victory also served to embarrass the Iowa GOP — which had to admit that it had misallocated some votes, and simply lost some others, in a razor’s-edge election where every vote mattered.

It also cast an unflattering light on the old-fashioned and convoluted system that the party uses to collect and count caucus votes.

“It should be like a fine Swiss watch,” said Iowa State political science professor Steffen Schmidt. “It’s really more like a sundial.” He said the system used by Iowa Democrats was not significantly better.

In fact, Iowa Republican leaders seemed to cast doubt on their own results, saying Thursday that it was hard to declare a “winner” without knowing what happened in those eight precincts.

Thursday’s final count came from these forms, which had to be submitted by Wednesday evening. The Des Moines Register, citing unidentified officials in the Iowa GOP, reported that in 131 precincts, the forms showed numbers different than those reported on caucus night.

But some Form E’s didn’t show up at all.

The state party found that it was missing results from eight precincts, spread across five counties.

Now we find out that Texas Congressman and GOP candidate Ron Paul has been targeted by a new breed of PAC, this time with foreign backing.
– “Israeli Lobby launch new Super PAC effort to bring down Ron Paul” by Patrick Henningsen, Global Research, 21 January 2012

I sort of have to chuckle when they describe you and me as being dangerous. We are dangerous to the status quo in this country.
– Ron Paul after his second-place finish in New Hampshire primary, 10 January 2012

I want to say one other challenge that we face is simply that we must find an alternative to war and bloodshed. Anyone who feels, and there are still a lot of people who feel that way, that war can solve the social problems facing mankind is sleeping through a great revolution. President Kennedy said on one occasion, “Mankind must put an end to war or war will put an end to mankind.” The world must hear this. I pray God that America will hear this before it is too late, because today we’re fighting a war.
– Martin Luther King, Jr., “Remaining Awake Through A Great Revolution”, 31 March 1968, National Cathedral, Washington, D.C.

Monday, 16 January 2012, is Martin Luther King Day. The same day will also mark the passage of 21 years since the United States military began fighting in the Middle East. The U.S. has been actively engaged in war fighting in Iraq and the Middle East for a full 21 years, which is to say that Americans who will become adults in 2012 have never known what it means to live in a nation at peace.

Ron Paul, the anti-war Republican candidate for president, is a threat to the status quo of open-ended military intervention in the Middle East. While some 70 percent of the American population wants an immediate end to the U.S.-led wars, Ron Paul is the only candidate that speaks for the majority that wants peace.

Barack Obama has ratcheted up the war in Afghanistan and has imposed sanctions on Iran that will lead to war if not reversed. All of the Republican candidates other than Ron Paul are trying to outdo each other with their bellicose threats against Iran. To understand why the candidates advocate such belligerent positions in spite of the growing anti-war sentiment among American voters, it is essential to understand that they are being paid and supported to do so by their Zionist (i.e. pro-Israel) backers. Mitt Romney, for example, has very close ties to a high-level agent from Israeli military intelligence, the woman he made CEO of Bain & Company.

ROMNEY’S ISRAELI HANDLER – Orit Gadiesh, former “War Room” assistant to Ezer Weizman and Moshe Dayan, is the daughter of Israeli Brigadier General Falk Gadiesh (born Falk Gruenfeld, Berlin, 1921) and his Ukrainian-born wife. Gadiesh is chairman of the management consulting firm Bain & Company, the parent company of Bain Capital, and was the company’s managing director under CEO Mitt Romney in 1992. “She’s like a Jewish mother figure to many of the people at Bain,” ex-Bainie Dan Quinn told Fortune magazine in 1996.

Bain Capital owns Clear Channel, the largest radio station group owner in the United States. Clear Channel owns the networks which air the most popular radio talk shows, including The Rush Limbaugh Show, The Glenn Beck Program, The Sean Hannity Show, America Now with Andy Dean, Coast to Coast AM, The Savage Nation, The Mark Levin Show, and The Dave Ramsey Show. (Graphic: “Rush Limbaugh Spills the Beans on the Jewish Conspiracy” by Pat Healy)

Mitt Romney was a co-founder of Bain Capital along with Bill Bain, seen here. Bain was ousted in 1991 and Romney served as CEO of Bain & Company in 1991-1992. In May 1991, while Romney was CEO, Gadiesh was named chairman of the company’s Policy Committee, which set the company’s business strategy and policy. In 1992, under Romney, she became managing director. Orit Gadiesh, who has worked at Bain & Co. since 1977, became chairman of Bain & Co. in 1993.

Orit Gadiesh, born in Israel in 1951, has worked closely with Mitt Romney since at least 1991, and probably much longer since she joined Bain & Company in 1977, when she was 26. Romney appointed Gadiesh to his transition team when he became governor of Massachusetts in November 2002. Gadiesh is the daughter of Falk Gadiesh, an Israeli brigadier general and former member of the general staff who reorganized the Israeli army in the early 1950s after a stint at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Falk’s daughter Orit was chosen to serve in Israeli military intelligence. Her first position in the Israeli military was as assistant to Ezer Weizman, the deputy chief of staff who later became president of Israel. During the early 1970s, she worked in the war room, a bunker where Gen. Moshe Dayan was in charge. As a war room assistant to Weizman, Orit provided military leaders with documents and correspondence.

Prior to joining Bain & Company, Gadiesh served in the office of the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army. Currently, she is on the board of directors of the Peres Center for Peace, an organization headed by a former chief of staff of the Israeli military, Lt. General Amnon Lipkin-Shahak. The high-level Mossadnik Avner Azulay, managing director of the Marc Rich Foundation, is also on the executive board of the Peres Center.

Mitt Romney speaking at the Mossad’s (IDC) Herzliya Conference in 2007.

ROMNEY’S INTELLIGENCE CHIEF AND CAMPAIGN ADVISER – Mitt Romney named Michael Chertoff, the Israeli agent who supervised the destruction of the crucial evidence of 9/11, co-chair of his counterterrorism and intelligence advisory committee in October 2011. The 9/11 cover-up continues.

Romney greets his old friend, Benjamin Netanyahu, one of the suspected architects of the false-flag terrorism of 9/11.

Mitt Romney attended the Mossad’s “Herzliya Conference on Israeli Security” in 2007. Romney and the current Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu worked together as consultants at the Boston Consulting Group early in their careers.

Romney’s close relationship with Orit Gadiesh and Israeli military intelligence is the real reason he is the chosen candidate of the Zionist establishment. Romney is being supported by high-level Zionists, Israeli military intelligence, and their controlled media network. This relationship between the Israeli military and Mitt Romney, a presidential candidate, should be of great concern to all Americans because this is how the Israeli military plans to drag the United States into a war with Iran.

WHO STOLE THE IOWA CAUCUS? – Edward True, 28, helped count the 53 votes in his precinct and jotted down the results. When he checked to make sure the Republican Party of Iowa got the count right, he said he was shocked to find they hadn’t. “When Mitt Romney won Iowa by eight votes and I’ve got a 20-vote discrepancy here, that right there says Rick Santorum won Iowa,”

There are alarming news reports that show that the tally of the Republican caucus in Iowa was manipulated giving fraudulent additional votes to Mitt Romney. In one precinct alone, where Romney received only two votes, the tally showed twenty-two, an increase of 1,000 percent! If such egregious vote fraud happened in one precinct, it most likely happened in others:

Des Moines TV station KCCI reported that a Ron Paul backer attending his first precinct caucuses in Appanoose County, in southern Iowa, said the vote from his precinct was inaccurately reported and gave Romney 20 more votes than he actually received.

The Paul supporter, Edward True of Moulton, told The Associated Press that he helped count the ballots cast at his precinct caucuses and that Romney received two votes. True said he was shocked to see the official results on the Republican Party website showed Romney with 22 votes in the precinct.

“I assume somebody made a typographical error,” he said in a telephone interview. True said that when he contacted local Republican officials, “They said they would sort it out in the next couple of weeks, but how many primaries will have happened by that time?”
– “Santorum shrugs off report of Iowa vote errors” , 6 January 2012

Edward True, 28, said at his 53-person caucus at the Garrett Memorial Library, Romney received only two votes. According to the Iowa Republican Party’s website, True’s precinct cast 22 votes for Romney. “This is huge,” True said. “It essentially changes who won.” While the mainstream media portrays this as a single typographical error it may be an indication of a more serious case of vote fraud. Edward True’s discovery is clear evidence of vote fraud and a complete audit of the Iowa tally must be done to determine if the caucus results were manipulated on a statewide scale.

When I began this article about Ron Paul and the Iowa caucus, a week before it happened, I was strongly inclined to predict that Mitt Romney was going to win, based solely on my knowledge that he is supported financially by the Crown family of Chicago, a family of high-level Zionist weapons dealers closely tied to the state of Israel. The Crown family, which profits directly from war and defense spending, also supports Barack Obama and is one of those highly-connected Zionist clans that knows how to make their candidates win elections – one way or another. Lester Crown also sits on the board of the Peres Center, along with Orit Gadiesh and other high-level Mossadniks.

Orit Gadiesh (age 60) is a high-level Israeli military intelligence agent at Bain & Co. who has worked closely with Mitt Romney for decades.

Orit Gadiesh, born 1951, is the daughter of Falk Gadiesh (formerly Gruenfeld) one of the Israeli army’s first brigadier generals and a member of the General Staff. The Gruenfeld family immigrated to Palestine in 1939 when Falk was 18. He became a Brigadier and was sent by Israeli military intelligence to the United States in 1952 (see names on KLM’s U.S. passenger manifest) on a diplomatic passport to study at MIT. He then returned to Israel and reorganized the Israeli army.

A book about the Gruenfeld family provides information about Brigadier General Falk Gadiesh. (Source: Das Leinenhaus Gruenfeld, Berlin 1967)

Romney’s support from the Crown family, which is closely tied to the state of Israel and its military intelligence agencies, is most likely based on his decades of working with Bain & Company, which is headed by Orit Gadiesh, an Israeli military intelligence agent. Romney and Gadiesh have worked together at Bain since the early 1990s. Gadiesh is the Israeli intelligence agent who steers Bain & Co., and who probably advises Mitt Romney on the Middle East and other matters. She served on Romney’s transition team when he became governor of Massachusetts.

The following extracts provide some basic information on the Israeli agent who controls Mitt Romney:

Founded in 1973 by former Boston Consulting Group vice president William H. Bain, Jr., Bain & Co., based in Boston, has offices in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York, Palo Alto and San Francisco. After experiencing a serious crisis in the 1980s and 1990s, Bain rebounded under the leadership of former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney (who had previously worked with Bain Capital, a separate company) and Orit Gadiesh, one of the few women to head a top consulting firm. It had revenues of $1.6 billion and over 4,000 employees in 2007.

Orit Gadiesh
52, Chair, Bain & Company
She stands over 6 feet tall in heels. She worked in military intelligence in her native Israel. And she runs one of the world’s largest, most elite business-consulting firms, with big-hitter clients like De Beers, ITT, and Dell. Twelve years ago, Gadiesh succeeded Mitt Romney as head of what was once called the KGB of consulting firms. Given her connections to the governor, it was no surprise when he named her to his transition team. Gadiesh was one of only two Bostonians listed the last time Fortune magazine published its female power list in 2000.

A Romney victory in Iowa, I wrote, would have certainly been the result if the Republicans were to use the same dodgy telephonic tally system (Voxeo, a firm tied to Israeli military intelligence) which had been used by the Democrats of Iowa in the two previous elections. I have written extensively about how the Israeli-linked Voxeo system was used to manipulate the tallies of the Iowa Democrat caucuses of 2004 and 2008. The rigging of the Iowa caucus allows for the presidential election to be stolen at the beginning – like a baby from its crib. It now appears very likely that the Republican caucus of 2012 was also manipulated and stolen. The national importance of the Iowa caucus means that we have a right to demand an independent audit of the results. The evidence indicates that the Republican Party of Iowa is not able to provide verifiable results in a timely manner. We should not have to wait two weeks to have the results from such a simple, but important poll.

One week before the caucus I contacted the Republican Party of Iowa and spoke with three different people in their communications department about how the results would be tallied. Patrick, the first person I spoke to about the vote counting process, told me that he could not reveal how the tally would be done “for security purposes.” Ryan, the second person, told me that the precincts would communicate the results to caucus headquarters in Des Moines but the way in which the precinct results were to be sent was being kept secret for security purposes.

Finally, I spoke to Nicole Sizemore, the assistant director of communications. Sizemore told me that there was no outside agency involved in the tally process and that it would be “very transparent” with oversight by observers from the different campaigns. The complete tally with “total breakdown” by precinct, she said, would be released within 14 days of the January 3 caucus. I was glad to hear this and decided not to come out with a gloomy prediction that Mitt Romney would win. With the information I had from the Republican Party of Iowa it seemed that there was a good chance for a honest and transparent caucus. It now seems that my trust was misplaced and that my instinct that vote fraud would give Romney a victory in Iowa was correct after all.

If the statement of Edward True is true and correct, the tally numbers for Mitt Romney were manipulated. If vote fraud happened in True’s precinct, it probably happened in others all across the state. The tally from the Iowa caucus must be examined to see if the statewide results match the precinct results for each of the 1,774 precincts. Now that the Iowa caucus is over, the method by which the results were communicated to caucus HQ needs to be exposed and examined because, just like the Voxeo telephonic vote-counting system, this appears to have been the weak link through which the results were manipulated giving Mitt Romney his victory in Iowa.

To those who believe that America has a “free press”, impartial and unbiased, just watch the following short video in which CNN blatantly censored the comments of Corporal Jesse Thorsen, a U.S. Army soldier from West Des Moines who has served multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan – and who supports Ron Paul because he is tired of war and would like to have some “peace time” duty:

“I’m really excited about a lot of his ideas, especially when it comes to bringing the soldiers home. I’ve been serving for ten years now and all ten years of those have been during wartime. I would like to see a little peace time army.”
– Corporal Jesse Thorsen to CNN

Ron Paul came in third place in Iowa behind the two Zionist-supported pro-war candidates, Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum. Santorum recently stated on “Meet the Press” that he would bomb Iran’s nuclear reactors if elected president. Is that an acceptable policy statement from a candidate for president? Does 50 percent of the Republican Party of Iowa truly want to wage yet another disastrous and costly war in the Middle East, i.e. against the Islamic Republic of Iran, or is there another explanation for these results? These results are from the Washington Post and are not final.

I had always believed, and still believe, that oppressive forces draw much of their strength from their ability to wield their power in secret.

Israeli general Amos Yadlin traveled to Chicago in an effort to enlist [Lester] Crown’s help in convincing the administration to attack Iran.
– “Israel, Big Money and Obama”, 20 August 2010

The Crown family supports candidates from both parties, depending on their strategic goal. Susan Crown, for example, who gave at least $12,300 to candidate Obama between 2003 and 2007 is now supporting the Republican Mitt Romney’s bid for the White House.
– “Chicago’s Elders of Zion and Obama’s War for Profit”, October 2011

The final report of the Commission on Wartime Contracting in Iraq and Afghanistan said that somewhere between $31 and $60 billion has been lost through contract waste and fraud in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Put another way, war profiteers took as much as $60 billion from taxpayers and didn’t give us anything in return.
– “No Success in Iraq – Unless You’re a War Profiteer” by Robert Greenwald and Derrick Crowe

The ongoing cover-up of 9/11, the fraudulent “War on Terror”, and the trillion-dollar U.S. military intervention in the Middle East are the key elements coloring the political context of the U.S. presidential election of 2012. The false-flag terror attacks of 9/11 and the U.S. military aggression in the Middle East are two sides of the same counterfeit coin which has been used for the past decade to deceive and defraud the American people – and the world. The massive fraud that began with 9/11 and which has been used to rob the nation of untold billions could not possibly be maintained were it not for the utterly corrupt political establishment of Washington, D.C. and the controlled media. This ongoing deception is the real background against which the Iowa caucus, the first poll of the 2012 presidential election, needs to be viewed.

The Republican caucus in Iowa on January 3 is of great importance because it is the first poll to determine which candidate will challenge Barack Obama for the presidency. A CNN/Time poll indicates that Ron Paul and Mitt Romney are currently the front runners polling about 25 percent each. Two days earlier Ron Paul was the clear front runner, several points ahead of Romney and Newt Gingrich, who has now fallen further behind. Despite Paul’s common sense positions and popularity with voters, the paid pundits of the controlled media outlets constantly attack his positions as “out of the mainstream”.

Paul, who is a very popular candidate, is treated most unfairly by so-called alternative media outlets such as Salon and the Huffington Post. When one reads, for example, the first sentence of the Bob Cesca piece on the Huffington Post in which he says progressives that support Ron Paul are “out of their blessed gourds”, it is worth remembering that the Huffington Post was acquired by AOL in February 2011 for $315 million. There is always a political reason for such media acquisitions and the Ron Paul candidacy is that reason. This is a perfect example of how, and why, the so-called alternative media is controlled by the same sinister forces that control the “mainstream” press. What better way is there to control the thoughts of progressive voters than to control the websites they rely on for information?

Ron Paul is opposed to waging war against Iran.

I am just absolutely convinced that the best formula for giving us peace and preserving the American way of life is freedom, limited government, and minding our own business overseas.
– Ron Paul

A CNN/ORC poll released in November found that 68 percent of Americans opposed the war in Iraq and 63 percent are against the one in Afghanistan. Yet, we keep hearing that only hawks have a chance to be elected president… Dr. Ron Paul is firmly anti-war, anti-empire, and anti-torture. He has been drawing large crowds in Iowa. He has legions of volunteers and a steady source of money through Internet fundraising. His supporters are willing, as one said, to “crawl over broken glass” for him. So if there is snow in Iowa or New Hampshire, that should be no problem.
– Ron Paul, the anti-war candidate” by Mary Meehan, The Baltimore Sun, 2 January 2012

One of the key issues, perhaps the most crucial issue, in the GOP Iowa caucus is the position of the candidates regarding the Zionist war policy against Iran. Ron Paul is opposed to waging war against Iran while Romney and most of the others are eager armchair warriors against the Islamic Republic of Iran. With the new U.S. sanctions seeking to strangle Iran financially having brought counter threats to close the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. position vis-a-vis Iran is now of the utmost importance as the chances of war are greater than ever.

Iran has been the subject of a Zionist war strategy for years in the same way that organized Jewry declared war on Germany in the early 1930s, long before the invasion of Poland in 1939. The punitive sanctions against Iran are war by other methods and unless the United States changes its approach to Iran it will find itself in another major war in the Middle East, one with drastic and unforeseeable consequences.

Henry, Lester, and Susan Crown of Chicago. A family of Zionist war profiteers, the Crowns became rich on U.S. defense spending in World War II and have profited on every war since. The Crowns are big financial supporters of Republican Mitt Romney and the Democrat Barack Obama – both Zionist-controlled pro-war candidates.

The Crown family of Chicago is one of the key Zionist supporters of Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. As a major shareholder of General Dynamics, the Crown family profits from U.S. defense spending and war. As a leading Zionist family, the Crowns support sanctions and the Israeli warmongering against Iran. The Crowns have invested in Mitt Romney because he is willing to wage war to please his Zionist supporters. To push the nation into war to serve a foreign state is treasonous.

Mitt Romney is hawkish on Iran because he is supported by Zionist warmongers like the Crown family of Chicago.

Mitt Romney would most likely win the caucus if the Republican Party of Iowa were to tally the caucus results using the dodgy telephonic tally system (Voxeo) used by the Iowa Democrats in 2004 and 2008. But after having intensively queried the Republican Party of Iowa about how the results will be tallied it seems to me that the Republican Party of Iowa will be tallying the results themselves in Des Moines.

Nicole Sizemore, assistant communications director for the GOP of Iowa, told Bollyn.com that there is no outside contractor involved in the tally and that it will be a “very transparent” poll with multiple observers. Although Sizemore could not reveal the specifics about how the results would be communicated to headquarters, she confirmed that a complete breakdown of the 1,774 precinct results would be published within 14 days. These are the key elements of an open and transparent poll.

This is good news because it suggests that the results of the January 3 Republican caucus are likely to be more representative, honest, and accurate than the Democratic caucus in 2008 that helped bring the dark horse candidate Barack Obama to power. In 2004 another dark horse candidate, John Kerry, came from behind to run against George W. Bush. In both cases, pro-war candidates from the back of the pack won the rigged caucus, effectively removing the question of the illegal war policy from the debate. Let’s hope Ron Paul wins Iowa in a truly honest and transparent caucus on January 3. We certainly don’t need anymore illegal Zionist wars for profit and the people of Iowa know that as well as anyone. Iowa has lost 69 servicemen in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq with more than 477 wounded, according to iCasualties.org.

In the following video clips from a Republican debate Ron Paul explains his position on Iran. Rick Santorum recently stated that he would bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities if elected president. Iran is the central foreign policy question facing the presidential candidates. The U.S. has been at war in the Middle East for 21 years, since January 1991, when President George H.W. Bush went to war against Iraq over Kuwait.

More US scrap metal headed for Persian Gulf

USS Ponce joins USS Enterprise in Persian Gulf

Contributor: “YYC”

How much clearer could it be that a false flag event is planned?

Further to our earlier discussion about the US having found a way to dispose of its scrap metal and at the same time create a pretext (with the help of Israel?) for WWIII, here is the latest news report (bolding mine):

Pentagon deploys ‘mothership’ to Persian Gulf as tensions with Iran escalate

The Pentagon is rushing a “mothership” to the Middle East to be used by commando teams as unrest in the region heightens, reports The Washington Post.

The U.S. Navy is planning to refit the USS Ponce, an amphibious transport docking ship, which was about to be retired and decommissioned.

The Ponce was commissioned in 1971 – it’s now over 40 years old. Wikipedia reports:

On 2 December, 2011, Ponce came home to await decommissioning on 30 March, 2012, when she would be towed to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and be placed with the mothball fleet

And now “she” is headed to the Gulf. How much clearer could it be that a false flag event is planned?

Police Get Help With Confronting Veterans

From Officer.com

The Justice Department is funding an unusual national training program to help police deal with an increasing number of volatile confrontations involving combat veterans.

The Justice Department is funding an unusual national training program to help police deal with an increasing number of volatile confrontations involving highly trained and often heavily armed combat veterans.

Developers of the pilot program, to be launched at 15 U.S. sites this year, said there is an “urgent need” to de-escalate crises in which even SWAT teams may be facing tactical disadvantages against mentally ill suspects who also happen to be trained in modern warfare.

“We just can’t use the blazing-guns approach anymore when dealing with disturbed individuals who are highly trained in all kinds of tactical operations, including guerrilla warfare,” said Dennis Cusick, executive director of the Upper Midwest Community Policing Institute. “That goes beyond the experience of SWAT teams.”

Cusick, who is developing the program along with institute training director William Micklus, said local authorities have a better chance of defusing violent confrontations by immediately engaging suspects in discussions about their military experience — not with force.

The aim, Micklus said, is to try to reconnect them with “a sense of integrity” lost in the fog of emotional distress.

“You can’t win by trying to out-combat them,” Cusick said. “You emphasize what it means to be a Marine, a soldier to people who now feel out of control.”

There is no data that specifically tracks police confrontations with suspects currently or formerly associated with the military. But an Army report issued this year found that violent felonies in the service were up 1% while non-violent felonies increased 11% between 2010 and 2011.

During that time, however, crime in much of the nation declined.

Good that this is happening now, but the article completely ommitted the reality that this kind of education comes far too late for some of our mentally ill Vets who have wound up dead at the hands of law enforcement.

“A suspect was shot and killed by one of my officers,” Gillespie said. “Any time we have a fatal use of law enforcement, it’s a sad day.” MyNews3.com identified the man as Stanley Gibson, whose wife, Rondha, said he was battling post-traumatic stress disorder and brain cancer from serving in the Gulf War. “He would go into paranoid delusions, thinking people were after him,” she said. “He would get scared. He would get severe anxiety.”

But I have to ask why so many of our Vets from campaigns like those in Afghanistan wind up, when discharged, with a huge array of mental illnesses.

And the only possible conclusion I can come to is that, perhaps, when they were in country for a while, they recognized that the United States was not on the right side of history in these military misadventures. What the police call “mental illness” may be moral outrage.

To be forced to fight and kill on command, when you are, at heart, a moral or even spiritual individual, after having come to that awareness, cannot help but create moral and emotional damage.

I’m not saying that all wars are wrong. I am the very proud daughter of a Dad who enlisted – disabled -in World War II because he understood clearly that Japan and Germany had to stopped. I am very painfully aware that any aggressor who started a war in the last century got beaten up, big-time. And this is why the US’s pre-emptive wars in the 21st century concern me deeply, morally and spiritually.

What was “won” in the war against Iraq?!? Exxon-Mobil got their oil development deals, period, end of discussion.

Iraq, the country which formerly enjoyed the highest standard of living in the Muslim Middle East, has been utterly destroyed by the US invasion and occupation, and is on the brink of sectarian civil war.

And who is “winning” the 10 year and counting in the US/NATO occupation of Afghanistan?

The drug lords (and the banks which launder their money) and the defense contractors, that’s who.

Understanding that what we have had in these wars is publicly funded war, ultimately for private profit, would be enough to make sensible people at least very angry and upset. Add to that the pressures of combat, and you have all the elements necessary for a perfect storm of mental illness for our returning Veterans.~~ Mike R.

The Reality of Electronic Vote Fraud in America

Dissident News & Analysis

SATURDAY, 28 JANUARY 2012 15:22

As this system is the only form and principle of government by which liberty can be preserved, and the only one that can embrace all the varieties of a great extent of country, it necessarily follows, that to have the representation real, the election must be real; and that where the election is a fiction, the representation is a fiction also. Like will always produce like.
– Thomas Paine to the Citizens of the United States, 29 January 1803

While most Americans will vote on electronic voting machines in 2012, the public is generally unaware of how easy it is for an election to be stolen by the people who control these machines.  This is the fundamental problem that has disenfranchised the American voter and has turned our elections into fiction.  As Thomas Paine wrote in 1803, “where the election is a fiction, the representation is a fiction also.”

The following three short video clips explain why a free people should not allow elections to be conducted using such machines.  The simple and sure way to restore our democratic franchise is to return to hand-counted paper ballots which are openly counted in front of the public in each polling place.  This is the absolutely essential element, the sine qua non, of open and transparent elections.  This is what we must return to in every county in every state across the nation.

For more on how elections should be conducted, see my article “Restoring Democracy in America”

Two of the biggest voting machine companies, ES&S and Diebold, were set up by two brothers from Ohama, Robert and Todd Urosevich.  The 2011 obituary of their mother, Helen Catherine Varda Urosevich, has been added at the end of this piece to help identify the Urosevich brothers.

From The Editor – Doesn’t really matter :

In a two-party tyranny such as the JewSA it doesn’t really matter whether the votes are properly counted. Democrats, Republicans, what difference does it make? We all thought under Baby Bush that things couldn’t get any worse, and along came Obimbo and proved us wrong. Votes in the U.S. as elsewhere are as genuine as World Wrestling Federation “smackdowns”, fake competitions between actors who all work for the same mob.

The Bible Unearthed (The Documentary)

From Pyramidion

Politics & Faith – Egyptology & Art

    Timeless Egypt

By Dr. Ashraf Ezzat

“Prof. Israel Finkelstein & Neil Silberman, Two of archaeology’s leading scholars shed new light on how the Bible came into existence. They assert, for example, that Abraham, Isaac and Jacob never existed, that David and Solomon were not great kings but obscure chieftains and that the Exodus never happened.”

             Israel Finkelstein

For the first time, the true history of ancient Israel as revealed through recent archaeological discoveries-and a controversial new take on when, why and how the Bible was written. In the past three decades, archaeologists have made great strides in recovering the lost world of the Old Testament. Dozens of digs in Egypt, Israel, Jordan and Lebanon have changed experts’ understanding of ancient Israel and its neighbours- as well as their vision of the Bible’s greatest tales.

Yet until now, the public has remained almost entirely unaware of these discoveries which help separate legend from historical truth. Here, at last, two of archaeology’s leading scholars shed new light on how the Bible came into existence. They assert, for example, that Abraham, Isaac and Jacob never existed, that David and Solomon were not great kings but obscure chieftains and that the Exodus never happened.

They offer instead a new historical truth: the Bible was created by the people of the small, southern nation of Judah in a heroic last-ditch attempt to keep their faith alive after the demise of the larger, wealthier nation of Israel to the north. It is in this truth, not in the myths of the past, that the real value of the Bible is evident.

The Bible is both a religious and historical work, but how much is myth and how much is history? When and why was the Old Testament written, and by whom? What do contemporary archaeologists know about the Patriarchs? The Exodus? The Conquest of Canaan? Kings David and Solomon? Where do the people of Israel originally come from? Why were the historical accounts of the Bible written down?

A masterful archaeological and biblical investigation, The Bible Unearthed visits digs in Egypt, Jordan and Israel – including Megiddo, the cradle of biblical archeology, where 7,000 years of history have been excavated.

This far-ranging exploration of biblical history also makes use of archival footage of previous archaeological excavations, maps, biblical illustrations and computer animation, revealing ancient architecture, cuneiform tablets and other rare artifacts.

Based on the best-selling book (The Bible Unearthed) by prominent Israeli archaeologist Israel Finkelstein & coauthored by American historian Neil Asher Silberman, this enthralling documentary features interviews with archaeological specialists and biblical scholars from all over the world, including experts from the Louvre, the Museum of Cairo, the Museum of Jerusalem, and the British Museum.

The Bible Unearthed does something which has never been done before: it reveals a still-unraveling revolution of what we know of the society, the history, and the men who wrote the Bible.

Shut Down Global Internet censorship is here.

Posted by

Global Internet censorship is here.  SOPA and PIPA have been stopped (at least for now) in the United States, but a treaty known as ACTA (the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement) is far worse than either of them.  ACTA was quietly signed by Barack Obama back on October 1st, 2011 and most Americans have never even heard of it.  But it could mean the end of the Internet as we know it.

This new treaty gives foreign governments and copyright owners incredibly broad powers.  If you are alleged to have violated a copyright, your website can be shut down without a trial and police may even show up at your door to take you to prison.

It doesn’t even have to be someone in the United States that is accusing you.  It could just be a foreign government or a copyright owner halfway across the world that alleges that you have violated a copyright.  It doesn’t matter.

So far, the U.S., the EU and seven other nations have signed on to ACTA, and the number of participants is expected to continue to grow.  The “powers that be” are obsessed with getting Internet censorship one way or another.  The open and free Internet that you and I have been enjoying for all these years is about to change, and not for the better.

So how come the U.S. Senate never voted on ACTA?  Doesn’t the U.S. Constitution mandate that all treaties must be approved by a two-thirds vote in the Senate?

Of course it does.

But Barack Obama has gotten around this by calling ACTA an “executive agreement”, which is a load of crap.

Unfortunately, this is the kind of nonsense we are getting out of Obama on a regular basis now.  He has shown endless disdain for the U.S. Constitution.

Some members of Congress are expressing deep alarm over ACTA.  For example, U.S. Representative Darrell Issa is calling ACTA “more dangerous than SOPA“.

There are some members of Congress that are even demanding that ACTA be submitted to the U.S. Senate for a vote.  Unfortunately, their voices are very few so far, and ACTA is getting next to no coverage in the mainstream media.

But this new treaty is very, very serious.  It basically mandates that all Internet communications be constantly monitored for copyright infringement.  Sites like YouTube, Facebook and Twitter will have to monitor accounts for copyright infringement 24 hours a day.

If you are alleged to have committed a violation, you might not just lose your social media account or your website.

You could potentially be sent to prison.

What we are talking about is Chinese-style Internet censorship for the entire globe.

The following comes from a recent Forbes article….

“Why does ACTA matter to the media and citizens?” writes Alex Howard. “Consider the phrase “intermediary liability.” That’s the principle that websites on the Internet, like YouTube, Internet service providers, web hosting companies or social networks, should not be held liable for the content created or uploaded by their users.”

The new rules proposed in ACTA essentially transform Western ISPs into something more along the lines of ISPs in China and other more restrictive nations.

One of the worst elements of ACTA is that it would allow accusers of copyright infringement to completely and totally bypass judicial review.

If you don’t think that ACTA will change the Internet, just check out the following excerpt from a recent article by Paul Joseph Watson….

Under the provisions of ACTA, copyright holders will be granted sweeping direct powers to demand ISPs remove material from the Internet on a whim. Whereas ISPs normally are only forced to remove content after a court order, all legal oversight will be abolished, a precedent that will apply globally, rendering the treaty worse in its potential scope for abuse than SOPA or PIPA.

Big sites like YouTube, Facebook and Twitter may just decide that it is too much of a hassle to monitor millions of pieces of content.  Allowing users to constantly post content on their sites would be a huge risk.  In fact, if they are found to be allowing “copyright infringement”, those sites could be permanently shut down.

The American people need to get educated about this new treaty before it is too late.  There is still a chance that we could get the U.S. Congress to take action against this new treaty.

Under ACTA, Internet service providers will essentially be required to become the police of the Internet.  This was explained in a recent article by Cory Doctorow….

New revelations on ACTA, the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA), a secretive global copyright being privately negotiated by rich countries away from the UN: ACTA will require ISPs to police trademarks the way they currently police copyright. That means that if someone accuses you of violating a trademark with a web-page, blog-post, video, tweet, etc, your ISP will be required to nuke your material without any further proof, or be found to be responsible for any trademark violations along with you. And of course, trademark violations are much harder to verify than copyright violations, since they often hinge on complex, fact-intensive components like tarnishment, dilution and genericization. Meaning that ISPs are that much more likely to simply take all complaints at face-value, leading to even more easy censorship of the Internet with nothing more than a trumped-up trademark claim.

One of the big problems with ACTA is that it is way too broad and way too vague.

Vague language allows authorities to “interpret” the law any way that they see fit.

This can often lead to selective enforcement.  Websites that authorities like will be left alone, while those that they don’t like will be harassed or completely shut down.

ACTA was written in secret and it has been pushed through very, very quietly.  The following comes from a recent CNN article….

Like many trade agreements, ACTA is a confusing mess. Even its signatories don’t agree on how it’s supposed to work. The way it’s been pushed forward has also been unruly — talks have been held in secret, without any kind of legislative oversight or input from citizens or public-interest groups. The public only became aware of it in 2008, a couple of years after discussions began, when Wikileaks published a discussion paper. Since then, drafts of the pact have been released to the public, each successively less onerous to critics. Reportedly, though, big media and pharmaceutical lobbyists have been privy to the talks all along

Of course – this is a chance for big media and big corporations to take control of the Internet.

The way ACTA has been pushed on us has been absolutely disgusting.  In fact, one key EU official that was in charge of investigating ACTA has resigned in protest over how this whole thing has gone down.  He says that ACTA is basically being crammed down the throats of the European people….

I want to denounce in the strongest possible manner the entire process that led to the signature of this agreement: no inclusion of civil society organisations, a lack of transparency from the start of the negotiations, repeated postponing of the signature of the text without an explanation being ever given, exclusion of the EU Parliament’s demands that were expressed on several occasions in our assembly.

As rapporteur of this text, I have faced never-before-seen manoeuvres from the right wing of this Parliament to impose a rushed calendar before public opinion could be alerted, thus depriving the Parliament of its right to expression and of the tools at its disposal to convey citizens’ legitimate demands.”

Everyone knows the ACTA agreement is problematic, whether it is its impact on civil liberties, the way it makes Internet access providers liable, its consequences on generic drugs manufacturing, or how little protection it gives to our geographical indications.

This agreement might have major consequences on citizens’ lives, and still, everything is being done to prevent the European Parliament from having its say in this matter. That is why today, as I release this report for which I was in charge, I want to send a strong signal and alert the public opinion about this unacceptable situation. I will not take part in this masquerade.

For much more on ACTA, please watch the remarkable video posted below.  It does a great job of explaining exactly what ACTA is and why we need to be so concerned about it….

The world is changing and the Internet is changing.

If you don’t speak up now, the Internet as we know it today may soon be gone for good.

The 10 Rules For Your Emergency Food Pantry

SHTF Plan - When The Shit Hits the Fan, Don't Say We Didn't Warn You - Preparedness, Planning, News, and Commentary

From SHTFplan

You can follow her regular updates on PreparednessHomesteading, and a host of other topics at www.readynutrition.com .

Those of you who plan to take the first steps toward preparing for emergencies may feel a bit overwhelmed at where to begin. After all, there is a lot of food to choose from at the grocery stores. Many websites, including this one encourage families to start buying small amounts of food related preparedness items each time they go shopping. This way, your budget is not dramatically affected.

Food storage calculators are a great tool to incorporate in your preparedness planning, and can help you understand how much food your family will need for a given emergency. The food storage calculations can also be printed out and used as an inventory list to keep you on track in terms of what preparedness supplies you have and will need.

To make the most of your emergency food supply, keep these essential food pantry rules in mind before purchasing:

  1. Caloric intake is an important factor in survival. In any disaster situation, you want to avoid malnutrition. Having foods stored to prevent this health issue will keep you at your optimum health. Stock up on foods that provide you with essential nutrients to maintain body functions, proteins and carbohydrates, fats for energy, as well as foods that are not high in salt (the more salty your food is, the more water you will drink). To calculate how many calories you will need in your diet, click here.

  2. Consider buying multifunctional food items. Items that can serve more than one purpose will help your finances, as well as save precious space in the food storage pantry. Items such as oats, pasta, rice, wheat and beans are some great low-cost foods will serve a variety of uses.

  3. Store high energy snacks to help boost energy levels. Eating snacks that are high in complex carbohydrates and protein will provide you with a guaranteed energy boost. High energy snacks such as nuts, peanut butter, crackers, granola bars and trail mix can be stored for up to 1 year and will help keep energy levels and spirits high in an emergency scenario.

  4. Bring on the protein! Protein is an essential ingredient in our daily diets and cannot be omitted out of a survival diet. Canned meat is a good source of protein and can also help you maintain your energy level. Meats such as tuna, ham, chicken and spam are great additions to the food pantry and are multifunctional. (Remember, the oil in canned meat can be used as an emergency candle.) Beans are another great source of protein, and when beans are accompanied with rice, it makes a complete protein which provides all the amino acids needed to survive. One serving of beans and rice provides 19.9 g, or 40 percent of your daily vitamins.

  5. Don’t forget the basics. Essential staples such as cooking oil, flour, cornmeal, salt, sugar, spices, baking soda, baking powder and vinegar should not be overlooked.  If they are present in your kitchen, they should likewise be present in the emergency food supply.

  6. Convenience helps in stressful situations. Many moms know that boxed dinners can be a lifesaver when you are in a time crunch. Having some pre-packaged dinners and meals-to-grab during emergency scenarios will help you begin acclimating yourself to cooking in a grid down scenario as well as can help provide some comfort at the same time. Personally speaking, my family has the “just add water” pancake mixes, corn breads and drink mixes that are a great convenience.

  7. Variety’s the very spice of life, that gives it all it’s pleasure. Variety in your food pantry is important and can prevent the monotony that comes with eating the same foods day in and day out. Having a well rounded food storage will cut down on culinary boredom, as well as balance your diet. Further, stocking up on a variety of spices will also enhance your food pantry.

  8. Find comfort in the little things. Have some comfort food items that provide enjoyment to the family. Items such as popcorn, sweet cereals, hard candy, juice boxes, pickles, applesauce, pudding, cookies could be a great way to provide a bit of normalcy to the emergency situation you may face.

  9. Have backs up for your backs ups. Compressed food bars are lightweight, taste good and are nutritious. Having food bars as a back up to your existing food supply can provide you with piece of mind knowing you have an alternative to turn to if you run out of food. Further, these are great additions to your 72-hour bag or bug out vehicle. A review of the different types of bars can be read here or you can practice your survival skills and make your own with this recipe. MRE’s are another alternative food choice to turn to if you happen to run out of food in your pantry. Although many have turned their nose up at MRE’s (due to their high amounts of preservatives), they will provide you with sufficient calories and nutrition when it counts. Note: These should not be the only items in your food supply. Over time, you could become nutrient and vitamin deficient.

  10. Rotate and resupply when needed. Any items bought for the food storage closet should be used, rotated and resupplied. This is the best way to have the freshest foods available in the event that a disaster occurs. When organizing food reserves place the item that has the earliest expiration date in the front so that it is used first. FIFO is a well known acronym used in the restaurant business that stands for, “First In, First Out,” and can be incorporated in your food storage endeavors. Do an inventory check every 6 months to make sure that canned goods, preserves and other storage items are within their expiration dates.

Keeping the above considerations in mind when purchasing your food supply will provide your family with a well rounded food pantry stocked with an array of foods that will assist in promoting a healthy diet. Not listed in the suggestions is water. You must have water to survive. To learn more about potable water, click here. It would be prudent to have a 2-week supply of water on hand, as well as a water filtration device to rely on for extended disasters.

Prepping is a passion for some. For others it is the most efficient way to keep their family as safe as possible. For further resources and a list of essential items for your emergency supply, click here.

A Miracle

From Alternate Economy

By Tristan Nagler

JANUARY 25, 2012

This post is dedicated to Pat Cegan.  It is a story we are all familiar with, but perhaps have not heard for a while…  When you read it, you will see that it just feels right.  At least that is my hope.

In a swirling ball of light, we existed in the Godstate, all knowing and all powerful.  Until we had an idea.  It was the most beautiful and marvelous idea we have ever had and it required investigation.

But in order to fully understand this idea we had to make a sacrifice.  We had to surrender our knowledge and split into infinite tiny sparks of light.  We lost our sense of oneness and became the idea.  We agreed to enter an adventure of unimaginable proportions.  A Universe was born.

The Universe, as best we can describe it using computers.

At first there was nothing but darkness and we were alone.  We had a sense that we existed, but nothing else.  A thought began to form.  One of balance.  Its motivator a feeling of movement.  Our center, we notice, sits still, but our edges whirl around at incredible speed.  Two equal and opposite parts to our whole.

As we begin to understand our balanced self, we sense something new.  Something pulling us.  It lasts only a second, but it is unmistakable.  A little tug off in the distance.  We ponder this little tug for ages until suddenly we feel it again, but this time from another direction.  Through time we come to realize we are not alone.  But instead there is something else out there.  Something tugging at us.

After many eons of pondering what it could be something amazing happens.  We get a little tug and we find that it does not dissapear so quickly.  The tug instead gains strength and intensity.  We feel ourselves racing towards the force until our body collides with it in a flash of energy.

Our spinning outer edge ricochets off of the force and we bounce away with incredible speed.  And then we are again alone.  What just happened?  The feeling was so exhilirating.

Then it happens again. And again. We soon come to realize that there are many others out there along with us. We begin to judge the strength of each tug to try and see if it will result in a collision. We start to crave the collisions. They are rare and exciting and lead to a better understanding of where we are.

Finally, one day we try something new. We feel a tug and begin to race towards the force, but this time, we attempt to latch on to it, rather than bouncing away. It does not work the first few times. We collide as we did every other time. We begin to notice that it is our outer spinning edge that is the problem.

It always seems to bounce off of the surface of the force. Since we have very limited knowledge at this point we can only imagine the other force being the same as us. They must have a spinning edge as well. How to make the spinning edges stick instead of bounce?

The great connundrum. It took hydrogen atoms approximately 379,000 years to figure it out. They did not bond together in the early universe. They floated separately in space, learning how to bond.

But one day we did learn. We figured it out. We learned that if we angled our spinning edge in precisely the right way, we could couple our edge onto theirs and start to spin together. Our centers would be pushed together and our edges would essentially become one. We have met our first friend. Our first soul mate. Our first love.

We thought we were alone for literally hundreds of thousands of years, until this moment in time. Our Universe has expanded. We now have someone to share our experiences with. We notice when they get too close. We notice when they get too far. We notice when they spin this way. We notice when they spin that way.

When we collide with something else, we do so now together. It is still exhilirating, but far less scary with our friend around. We learn about balance in its most basic form.

                                  Cracks in the ice.

For the next couple of billion of years we floated around with our new friend. We bounced around meeting other pairs of atoms. We tried different combinations to see what would happen.

We started grouping in concentrated areas and forming many collisions. Huge communities started forming and all sorts of new and exciting interactions started happening. We started forming the first stars. It was at this point that we were faced with our first real decision. It was a big one and it would last with us for the rest of our existence in this Universe.

We had to choose to investigate the universe as a solid or a liquid. In either case we would remain conscious and would be allowed to crystalize and react randomly. But as a solid we would be entering one frame of perspective.

One where motion is less important. As a fluid, the choice you and I made, our perspective is very different. Our bodies would remain very much in motion, similar to that spinning edge of ours.

                                Quartz tile.

The solids went off and started to do their own thing, forming rocks and crystals. The fluids had a different evolution. The fluids began to form simple amino acids and eventually even DNA. They started creating spectacular reactions and literally explored the building blocks of life. Our souls mastered the various interactions of the various chemicals, by participating in the reactions with their neighbours and waiting to see the result.

We became master chemists, learning every aspect of every building block of life. And then we tried something different. We realized that separately the building blocks were highly reactive. But together, in the right combinations, the building blocks could become very stable. Again communities began to form. This time, they came together to form the first simple cells.

Through time the communities became so close, that they began to think as one. They began to work in tandem to move in one direction, or the other. They used their combined knowledge to keep the destructive chemicals out and let the essential chemicals in.

Eventually they were even able to reproduce themselves, using complicated reactions involving precise timing and balanced resources. The newly formed life started a new cycle. As the souls quickly rearranged themselves into different lifeforms, they became more and more complex. Their thirst for knowledge about this incredible playground they have discovered cannot be sated.

It is at this point that we are confronted with our second choice. Again, this choice is permanent and will determine the course of our evolution from that point forward. We are given the choice of continuing our lives as a producer or a consumer.

The solids were given the same choice at this time. The solids could be producers, stone produced from the bowels of the earth through the process of heat and pressure and time. Or they could become consumers, and turn into crystals.

Crystals are always found inside of stones, and appear to be eating them away from the inside. For fluids the choices are a bit more obvious. The producers are the plants, using the energy from the sun to create life. The consumers are us, the animals. We must consume life in order to sustain our own. It is the choice we made.

Be it vegetables or fruit or leafy greens or the flesh of an animal, when we eat we are ending somethings life in order to sustain ours. It is not something to be guilty about. It is the way of the universe.

                                          Closeup of a leaf.

Once we made the decision to become fluid consumers, our evolution continued at full force. We started quite small, little mollusks and slugs and worms. Nothing too impressive. But as our imagination grew, we tried new things out. We tried out eyes, and mouths and flippers. We tried to get a better understanding of the world around us.

If we are allowed to move around and we are compelled to consume, it would only seem logical to start looking for ways to best do this. Through hundreds of millions of years we played around with different forms until we got to where we are today.

Literally millions of species in millions of different shapes, with millions of different skills and abilities.

                                         Blood vessels.

And then came humanity. Imagine now that our souls have come to discover that they are in fact conscious. That they live in a universe that is massive and filled with incredible wonder. We did not know this when we started. We saw the stars when we were deer and lions and geese. But we did not understand what they meant until very recently.

This is the first time in the 16 billion years of our souls development that they have started to realize that they have souls. No wonder we are freaking out! What a huge amount of information. We are at a crucial point in our souls development. We have come to know that we have souls.

          Neural network.

What we do with this information is very important. If we can truly understand what this means, we will realize that we are God. Not individually, but together. God is not watching over us. God is living out their infinite lives through us.

We are God. Most literally. We have literally created the Universe around us over the last 16 billion years. And we are nowhere near finished. We have so much more to learn.

The Universe, as best we can describe it using computers.

TODAY’S NEWS : January 28, 2012

A heightened chance of something big happening in March 2012

From Urban Survival

Coping:  We Do What?

As you may know, I belong to a couple of professional associations related to news writing.  Not that it will help, coming from a radio background where the printed word is just there for hints about what kinds of noises should come out of mouth, but the idea is to pick up on current thinking and technique.

So one of them has a writing awards contest going, and I submitted an entry into what I thought would be the right category.  Turns out, my guess wasn’t so good – and not sure what’s going to happen to my entry.

What’s interesting – as I set about trying to explain what the UrbanSurvival/Peoplenomics efforts are about – is that most “news” is almost purely reactive, rather than anticipatory.

Which means what?  Well, to people who don’t live “10-minutes in the future” doing things like referring to Clif’s ( Clif High at Half Past Human.com )predictive linguistics with the recent ship sinking (“So, who’s the Blonde?”) or what’s coming in the first half of March (more specifically March 2-9, +/- three days) to be followed by 90-120 days of never-before-seen levels of “release language”, may seem like rantings of an idiot.

Not that they’d be wrong, at least until mid-March.  But it brings up the interesting question of where on the roughly Rayleigh Curve of arriving events in consciousness – events “plug in”.

For the “math curious” there’s a great Northrop-Grumman intro to the Rayleigh Curve available as a PowerPoint here.  As you’ll find, it’s really the Norden-Rayleigh (N-R) curve and the form of most interest to us might be the form v(t) = 2adte^(-a*t^2 except instead of tracking something like ‘e’ effort or expenditures, we might consider ‘e’ as emergent data points in consciousness…and they are distinctly nonlinear from where we live the illusion of “timeline”.

The main thing to be aware of is that on a linguistic/probability basis, there is a heightened chance of something big happening and we may not be bright enough to see exactly what it is that’s coming.

We’re cautious about playing “Name That Event” since that the “release language” around the 9/11 events (which we discussed in this summer 2001 report which foresaw something of large magnitude inside a 45-60 day window (with an equally inadequate drawing of the “tipping point” that was to materialize as 9/11) demonstrated that even getting aspects and attributes right [military/accident] which would [forever change how we live going forward] (which 9/11 did), we are only somewhat better today.

Yet we do have some candidate events in mind:

  • Despite a “hands off” by the Obama administration, odds are increasing that Israel will be screaming shortly for the US to join in a pre-emptive strike on Iranian nuclear facilities, and that failing this, they will “go it alone” and stuff flares up immediately thereafter after the three day pause and some wet work bound to make headlines.  Hope to be wrong on this, but that kind of “glowing” future is my personal pick as most likely.

  • With reports in multiple countries (five) bird flu could go airborne and maybe something like that could fit the international outlook out 3-4 years, but more likely might be…

  • A complete and utter financial failure, which could bring to CDS the modern analog to the Herstatt effect which was a near miss with global financial meltdown in 1974, as all good econ students remember..

The hopful and optimistic sorts claim such an event could never happen again, but I’m not one for joining such clubs.  The reason is simple:  While it’s true that continuous settlement has removed lock-up potential from foreign exchange transactions, there is no similar mechanism for credit default swaps (CDS) and did I mention those are up in the quadrillion-dollar range?

Sadly, if you pick up the Q3 – 2011 Office of the Comptroller of the Currency derivatives report, we see juicy reminders of how close the Global Financial Grim Reaper is with phrases like “Credit exposure from derivatives increased sharply in the third quarter.”   Makes us a little nervous about what Q4 will be like when released shortly.

Clif (who is back online after being offline for a week due to the snowstorms up in the Pacific Northwest) is optimistic that it won’t be the “war case”, but since there are two specific numbers related to body counts in all this (30 million in round one and 1.29 billion by the end of round two) there seems to me to be a low probability that this would be caused by flu or financial failure, though the shutdown of international air travel might account for a demarcation line, as might initial and long-term food/famine impacts.

But back to the point of this little discussion:  I’m not sure how serious-minded people, not used to living in the world of “pre-news” would categorize anything around here.

Data aside, there’s a 70% (or greater) chance the predictions are all wrong and are just a computational/processing error.

Still, it’s a perplexing problem to ponder:  Do I plan to go to the group’s convention which will occur at the end of the high risk window?  Thanks to having our own plane, we at least won’t have to worry about making last-minute  travel arrangements.  And that gives us two reasons to be watching the weather closely in early to mid March.

“shadow people”

From Urban Survival

A long-time reader with a credible background in remote viewing in a formal setting, sent this little update on “shadow people” which seem to be making a small uptick in reports….so is this related to a “thinning of the veil and 2012?  Beats me, but her comments about the shadow people are doggone interesting…

Hi, George:

I think it is probable that most of the “shadow people” incidents concern human astral travelers. It is possible for an experienced individual to change his or her appearance. I suspect that “hatman” owes something to “The Shadow,” whose images in movies and comic books tended to include a wide-brimmed hat.

When I lived in Northern California I knew a number of ladies who reported nocturnal sex with aliens. It was entirely voluntary and the encounters were enjoyed. I looked to see who was really involved and observed that the visitor in a number of cases was a blond human body-builder; he knew how to control his appearance on the astral, and had discovered that women wanted to have sex with aliens. –No, I didn’t blow the whistle on him. He was doing no harm.

Astral rapes do happen occasionally and they can leave marks. One friend went to see her doctor; he was outraged by her injuries and tried to persuade her to report her husband to police. When she told him it had happened during her sleep, and the perp was not her husband, he wouldn’t believe her.

Can people be killed that way? Sure, if they don’t have any self defense skills. In Houston years ago there was a puzzling epidemic of cases of attractive young women in apparent good health dying of unknown causes during the night. It went on at the rate of two or three per month for at least a year.

The solution is for people to develop some skills.  The Art and Practice of Astral Projection, by Ophiel, is a good place to start. Dion Fortune’s Psychic Self-Defense.

Some of the shadow people encounters are anomalous and very creepy indeed.

I agree that wujo incidents are becoming larger and more frequent. Waves of change are agitating our little planet. If this is the precursor to a single future event, it is likely to be something that we will all wish had never happened.

For what it may be worth, I tried to see what will be going on in March of 2013. I expected to see the black hand of government strangling the internet. What I actually saw was different, and alarming. I saw a series of really enormous CMEs strike the Earth during about a two week period. If that happens, a few hardened military systems may survive but no other electronics will.

As of about 2005, the transformers used by large cities were manufactured in only a handful of plants in the entire world. The waiting time to receive one was about four years. Presumably the manufacture requires electricity, supplied by large transformers that are not shielded…

I take comfort in the knowledge that there is more than one possible future and we human beings have a choice about the future we experience. “

Still, just in case, I have kept my HT-37 and SX-122 tube type ham gear, and my grid-interactive solar system is teeming with transient protection.

The False Depiction of Truth

From Spiritual Networks

by Jazmine

At this point in my life, I’ve been doing a lot of searching, contemplating, and reevaluating. I have this huge sense of urgency to connect with what I consider to be “my truth.”

I’ve done my share of study in religion and human nature to only come to terms that what I thought I knew, didn’t exist at all. What I thought I knew is STILL unknown. It’s mere a blank page full of possibility.

I’ve learned that throughout my entire life I’d been searching for happiness, for all of the answers to life. I’ve been searching to know who I truly am when this statement isn’t even fathomable.

We are all a mystery. We will never know our truths.

I’ve realized that I’d been missing out on the joys of life by focusing on how things should be rather than just being. I’ve sold myself out to the “coulda, shoulda, wouldas.” I’ve become a person with high expectations and propabilities that have no existence in this world, only to learn that there are no guaruntees.

Life changes by the instant.

Life is interchangeable yet irreversible, but satiable through love.

That is the only purpose. Love is the only way to the heart. And through the heart you will find what truth resonates with you for the time being.

Now more than ever I am realizing that “truth” is falsely depicted. Truth does not mean total truth at all, but only truth for the moment. While nothing will ever stay the same or can stay the same due to the natural tendency of destruction or clarity, truth is merely a term to describe the possibility of now.

Right now, I am my truth.

Regarding material means, who or what we feel to be a completion in life, is only what we think will “fill us.” We think that by finding what matters the most to us, or what we think matters, then we will be happy. However, happiness only comes through being happy with ourselves. You have to be willing to accept that your truth is a mystery and find comfort in the present by knowing all that is is all that there will ever be. Only then will you find joy.

Right now, my truth—your truth is increasing by the moment, but will never be whole. Because how can truth be whole with the complexity of free will? How can truth be whole and coexist with possibility?

It can’t.

I am remebering that we are all free beyond will because we are the ones experiencing this life. We have the ability to create whatever it is that we wish to create if only we set ourselves up to win.

We have that ability.

The positive energy that we are always searching for…

The love, the heightened vibration, the happiness that we are constantly searching for…

We have the ability to feel at any given moment.

We just have to open our hearts and allow it to flow.

We have to stop searching for our truth, and be it.

We are all that we will ever be at this given moment, as tomorrow, which is now, will consist of the same.

No ruling in ‘birther’ challenge

Around the Plaintiff’s table Kevin Powell (from left), Thomas Hatfield, Carl Swensson, John Sampson, and Mark Hatfield greeted each other before the hearing. The plaintiffs contend President Obama is not a natural-born citizen and not eligible to be on the Georgia ballot.

After hearing evidence with neither President Barack Obama nor his lawyers in attendance, a state administrative law judge on Thursday did not issue a ruling as to whether Obama can be allowed on the state ballot in November.

Lawyers for area residents mounting “birther” challenges told Deputy Chief Judge Michael Malihi that Obama should be found in contempt of court for not appearing when under subpoena to do so. But Malihi did not indicate he would recommend that and cut off one lawyer when he criticized Obama for not attending the hearing.

The defendant's side was empty as the Obama camp decided to boycott the hearing.

The defendant’s side was empty as the Obama camp decided to boycott the hearing.

“It shows not just a contempt for this court, but contempt for the judicial branch,” lawyer Van Irion told Malihi.

“I’m not interested in commentary on that, counselor,” Malihi quickly replied.

Late Wednesday, Obama’s lawyer, Michael Jablonski, wrote Secretary of State Brian Kemp, asking him to suspend the hearing. “It is well established that there is no legitimate issue here — a conclusion validated time and again by courts around the country,” Jablonski wrote.

Jablonski also served notice he would boycott the hearing.

A Georgia judge did not issue a ruling on a 'birther' challenge as to whether President Barack Obama can appear on the Georgia ballot.

Georgia judge did not issue a ruling on a ‘birther’ challenge as to whether President Barack Obama can appear on the Georgia ballot.

In response, Kemp said the hearing to consider the challenges is required by Georgia law. “If you and your client choose to suspend your participation in the [Office of State Administrative Hearings] proceedings, please understand that you do so at your own peril,” Kemp wrote.

Thursday’s hearing was held before a packed courtroom with almost every seat taken — except for those at the defendant’s table facing the judge.

Twitter Commits Social Suicide ( But Updated with Twitter’s Version of Things )

Image representing Twitter as depicted in Crun...

Starting today, we give ourselves the ability to reactively withhold content from users in a specific country — while keeping it available in the rest of the world. We have also built in a way to communicate transparently to users when content is withheld, and why.

With those words earlier today, in a blog posting titled “Tweets still must flow” the management of Twitter went over to the dark side and may well have dug their own grave.

In what can only have been a fit of corporate insanity, Twitter announced that it has the ability to filter tweets to conform to the demands of various countries.

Thus, in France and Germany it is illegal to broadcast pro-Nazi sentiments and Twitter will presumably be able to block such content and inform the poster why it was blocked.

[UPDATE: Please see below for the reason that the sections discussing computer mediated filtering are deleted.]

Quite obviously, Twitter’s management believes that there is some kind of value in being able to filter in this way but given that, over the course of 2011, the number of tweets per second (tps) ranged from a high of almost 9,000 tps down to just under 4,000 tps, any filtering has got to be computer-driven.

So, consider this tweet:

@FactsorDie Nazi Germany led the first public anti-smoking campaign.

Could that be considered to be pro-Nazi? How will a program accurately make that determination?

What concerns me is that if the algorithm Twitter uses registers a false positive (i.e. determines that the tweet is pro-Nazi when it isn’t) and the tweet has any time sensitivity to it then that attribute will be completely nullified by the time the tweet makes it out of tweet-jail if it ever does.

On the other hand if the software makes a false negative (i.e. determines that the tweet is NOT pro-Nazi when it is) then the filtering is useless and Twitter will be held accountable by every political group with an axe to grind.

Now it might be argued that some percentage of false positives or false negatives will be acceptable but what is that percentage? 0.0000o01%? That equates, at a minimum of 4,000tps, to 3,456 misclassified tweets per day or 1,261,440 per year!

And will the filtering software be able to detect irony and sarcasm? I rather doubt it.

And what about the fact that Twitter will be implicitly editing all tweets? Doesn’t that attract legal issues in that they are taking on an editorial responsibility and therefore become a lightning rod for lawsuits?

I see Twitter’s management having made an epic mistake. In trying to appease the demands of political pressure they’ve dug themselves a huge hole that they won’t be able to climb out of. The mere fact that they have published a blog posting claiming that they can filter seals their fate.

I really like Twitter; it’s a unique and amazingly rich social platform but Twitter’s management may have just diminished if not wiped out their edge and their global relevance.

You can’t service all of humanity if you allow the needs of politics to triumph over the needs of the people. And if you can’t service all of humanity, what is your relevance?

CORRECTION: I received the following comment from a Jodi Olson, part of the communications team at Twitter.  Jodi wrote:

I saw your piece on our news today and wish you would have checked in with us for perspective on the story–your piece is inaccurate and misleading.

What’s new today is that we now have the ability, when we have to withhold a Tweet in a specific country, to keep that Tweet visible for the rest of the world. We hold freedom of expression in high esteem and work hard not to remove Tweets.

The key is that this reactive only.  It’s on a case-by-case basis, in response to a valid request from an authorized entity.  This is not a change in philosophy. Twitter does not mediate content, and we do not proactively monitor Tweets.

Also key is that we’re making a clear effort to be transparent. Our policy in these cases is to 1) promptly notify the affected users, unless we are legally prohibited from doing so; 2) withhold the content in the required countries only, rather than worldwide; 3) clearly indicate to viewers that a Tweet or Account has been withheld, and 4) make available any requests to withhold content through our partnership with Chilling Effects.

To put the news in context, see this post from the EFF’s Jillian York.

Could you please update your story to make the accurate corrections?

I stand corrected over the point that the filtering is reactive (and presumably human-driven) versus proactive (and computer-driven) … Twitter’s original blog posting obviously wasn’t clear on this issue and in many ways the willingness of Twitter to acquiesce  to “authorized” entities raises even more questions. I find Jodi’s wish that I “would have checked in with us for perspective” remarkably naive … wouldn’t you think that what Twitter writes in its own official blog would be what they mean and not require spin clarification. That said, I have replied to Jodi and I’ll update this posting whenI hear back from her.

Settlers who went too far – even for Netanyahu

The Independent

Donald Macintyre ventures to the village which has provoked a legal crisis in Israel

Itai Harel gazed across at the rocky wilderness of the Judaean Mountains and urged us to “look at all this wonderful, empty land all the way from Jerusalem, waiting for its sons to come to build and live in it”. It was one of the few moments that Mr Harel, a 38-year-old social worker, turned lyrical in helping to explain why he, his wife and six children are living with 50 other families in a fenced outpost on a remote hilltop east of the West Bank city of Ramallah.

Standing by the stables Mr Harel uses for the successful therapeutic riding centre he runs, you would hardly guess that Israel’s Supreme Court has ordered that every structure here should be evacuated and demolished in little more than eight weeks. Or that the outpost has become the crucible for a political and judicial trial of strength; one which may decide whether Israel’s government is prepared to put any limits at all on illegal Jewish West Bank settlement.

This peaceful winter morning, children are clambering over the slides in the playground of one the community’s two kindergartens. The water tower and electricity pylons, like the road that winds up the hillside to the summit, testify to the generous $4m-worth of help the community has had from governmental agencies since its establishment a decade ago. So too do the Israel Defence Force soldiers on protective duty here.

Yet this is part of the Migron paradox – there is absolutely nothing legal about it. Forget about international law, which most democratic governments believe is violated by all Jewish settlement in occupied territory. Like another 100 such unauthorised outposts, which started to spring up in the 1990s to get round Israel’s promise to build no new actual settlements, it has no basis in Israeli law. Moreover, government departments have regularly confirmed, and the Supreme Court accepted, that Migron was built on land privately owned by individual Palestinians and their families in the nearby villages of Burqa and Deir Dibwan, which makes it doubly illegal.

In her judgment, issued after repeated unfulfilled promises to evacuate the Migron residents, the Chief Justice, Dorit Beinisch, declared unequivocally that “we can only hope residents [of Migron] accept their duty not to behave as hooligans and resettle in any other place the state allows them.”

Mr Harel is hardly an obvious “hooligan”, insisting he wants a peaceful solution. But his ideological belief in his right to live where he chooses in the West Bank is not in doubt. “Look, my father survived the Holocaust, his little brother was killed. He tried to come to Israel after the war when he was six with his parents and another brother and the British sent them to Cyprus. He fought in the troops that liberated Jerusalem [in the 1967 Six Day war].”

Mr Harel, who believes it is for the voters and not the courts to decide the fate of the land, adds: This is my history. Is this the land of my forefathers or is it occupied territory? I think most Israelis know the answer.”

The Supreme Court order has raised the spectre of an evacuation even more violent than in 2006, when nine houses were evacuated in another illegal outpost, Amona, on which thousands of right-wing settlers converged. As it is, the demolition of three houses here resulted in a series of “price tag” attacks by settlers, which included vandalised and burned mosques in several Palestinian villages. (Migron settlers are adamant none of them took part.)

The Netanyahu government has now proposed a remarkable “compromise”, under which the outpost is removed to another approved site 2km away. It is still in occupied territory of course, but on officially designated “state land”.

Hagit Ofran, from the advocacy group Peace Now, believes the move may only be a delaying tactic. But in any case, she argues: “It would mean that the Israeli government would establish a new settlement and would send out the message that if you steal Palestinian land without authority, and threaten the use of violence, we will build you a new settlement on the taxpayer’s account. It’s outrageous.”

Outrageous or not, the offer has not yet been accepted by the settlers, who have been bolstered by right-wingers in the Netanyahu coalition who are arguing in favour of primary legislation retrospectively to legalise the outpost – a move which Peace Now argues would “signal the settlers to continue to build outposts without permission and to create facts on the ground.”

A few kilometres away in Burqa, Abdel Khader Mohammed Samarin, 72, a leader of the local Palestinian landowners group who petitioned the Supreme Court, looked out across the lovely valley which separates the Palestinian village from Migron. Mr Samarin, who says he lost 16 acres of land out of the 500 seized to make way for the outpost, said: “I want to appeal to Tony Blair as head of the Quartet to pressure Israel to let us have our land back. I want to appeal to the world.”

But he added: “My hope is weak. I don’t think they are going to do this.” And that analysis, at least, is shared by Mr Harel. “Come back in the summer when it is warmer and I’ll take you horse riding,” he said. “In Migron.”

How the land lies: Settling disputes

Settlements remain a constant source of friction between Israel and the Palestinians, with the issue touching on political, religious and territorial claims.

More than half a million Jewish settlers – encouraged by successive Israeli governments – live in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which were seized by Israel in the 1967 Six Day War. Along with Gaza, these territories are considered the basis of a future Palestinian state, and the international community views all settlements as illegal and an obstacle to peace.

Rapid expansion of settlements has driven many to despair of a two-state solution. Israel wants the largest settlements to remain in Israel in any deal, a solution that critics say would effectively result in Palestinian “bantustans”, or isolated self-governing enclaves, in the West Bank.

Settlers determined to assert Israel’s claim to the West Bank are motivated by financial, security and religious reasons. Many consider the West Bank part of their historic birthright.

The situation is even more intractable in East Jerusalem, coveted by the Palestinians as their future capital. Israel asserts sovereignty over Jerusalem, and 250,000 settlers live in the Arab-dominated east of the city.

Outposts – makeshift communities built without Israel’s authorisation – have proved a particular thorn in Israel’s side. Migron, built on private Palestinian land, is the largest of these.

Under the Bush-era “road map” in 2003, Israel committed to dismantling outposts built after 2001. Migron was one, but efforts to move it have been blocked by right-wing opponents, and settlers have threatened to make it a key battleground if the state attempts to dismantle it.

Israeli Finance Minister Pushes Naval, Aerial Blockade of Iran

{ XANIEL’S NOTE :  Once again, ‘ Israel ‘ has already admitted that Iran DOES NOT have nuclear weapons or has even made a decision to build one and yet with that ‘ ZIONIST WISDOM ‘ that I laughably refer to as Israeli Logic, is still pushing for a war. However,  with this plan of idiocy, they will draw in Russia and China. ( especially China, who has already made arrangement with two supertankers to take oil from Iran )  Of  course this is exactly what Israel wants. These evil fools desire to set off a nuclear war that brings about their ‘ ZIONIST  END OF DAYS ‘, because they truly believe they are doing God’s work ! ‘No One Can Go Out’ Insists Steinitz

In an interview today with Bloomberg Businessweek, Israeli Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz rejected the European Union’s ban on importation of Iranian crude oil, insisting it doesn’t go nearly far enough.

Instead, Steinitz called for the international community to impose a full naval and aerial blockade across all of Iran so that no one can even go out[sic].” This is the only option with any chance of success, he said.

Steinitz said a good model for his plan was the Cuban blockade by the United States in 1962, an effort which nearly ended with the annihilation of all life on earth in the Cuban Missile Crisis.

“Sometimes it might work. You have to at least try,” Steinitz added. It is unclear how he imagines the full aerial blockade in the north could be imposed, since it would presumably be opposed by Russia.

Mysterious Technical Difficulties Plague Alternative News Sites

Alternative news websites seem to be dealing with a mysteriously increased number of technical issues lately.

Yesterday, the popular alternative site Dprogram.Net – Counteracting Propaganda was out of service for most of the afternoon and early evening, with a message saying only “Account Suspended.” According to the administrator of the site, that’s the third time this week they’ve been offline.

Coincidentally, during the same time Dprogram was offline,WhatReallyHappened also suffered from technical concerns, although the outage was far briefer than that of Dprogram.

No one at the sites has cast any stones or suggested that this is all part of a greater conspiracy to silence the truth as alternative websites see it. (That’s just my personal theory,) However, in conjunction with SOPA, ACTA, and the new Google/CIA commitment to collect and provide information about users, as well as direct traffic to more government-friendly websites, one has to begin wondering.

Please show your support for these great alternative websites by visiting them regularly! Daily they engage in the fight for free, accurate and uncensored information by publishing stories that the mass media wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole. They are true patriots, fighting for freedom through knowledge.

Here are a few more of my favorite sites:

Dear Google:

Well, you’ve done it now. You’ve really ticked me off and I am breaking up with you.

Just because you are bigger than everyone else, it doesn’t mean that I’m going to tolerate you bullying me and controlling me.

You have changed from being my friend, someone I could look to for answers, into being someone who tries to protect me from the truth “for my own good.” You have become a tool for the advancement of communism.

An example, you ask?

What about the fact that when I use you to search for information, you only provide me with the information YOU want me to have? Despite the fact that Infowars and Prison Planet get more hits than many of the mainstream news affiliates, their information no longer comes up unless I specifically ask for them. Google, you have actually removed Infowars from your aggregator system in an effort to censor what I read!!!! Because of government pressure, even though the SOPA bill has been shelved, you are doing your own version of SOPA by blacklisting sites that do not toe the party line.

Google, you aren’t my father. I don’t need you to sift through the information available and decide what I should be reading. If you can’t lay it out there and give me all of the pertinent information I’m requesting, you aren’t someone that I want to be with.

Furthermore, Google, I believe that you are spying on me. Don’t try and deny it. When I disable cookies in my control panel, I get messages from you saying I cannot access my own blog without them. This blog is my intellectual property and you have no right whatsoever to keep me from it. But suddenly, it seems, I must permit you to spy on me and plant things in my computer to have access to my own blog.

And there’s more, Google. Imagine my dismay when I read that you are considering policing us all by gathering information about “thought crimes”. Your possessiveness of my mind has to end. I’m allowed to study things that interest me, like government conspiracies, the safety of the vaccines that I’m urged to give my children, or the veracity of current global warming theories. Not only are you planning to “tell” on me for studying these things, you are planning on providing me with only the information YOU want me to have. It’s true….I read it HERE!!! You are pretending to be my friend when you are actually in the back pocket of the greedy elite like George Creepy Soros.

My fury with you, Google, is unmatched. I refuse to be with someone who doesn’t respect my intelligence as a person, who does not allow me the privilege of reading all of the information and sifting through it myself, and who has so little respect for my intellectual curiosity that they would provide me only with propaganda.

So, Google, this is how it is.

I’m leaving you.

I’ve found a new search engine. I’m with startpage.com now, and you’re just going to have to deal with it. Yes, startpage may be a little slower and may not provide the same results, but at least I know that startpage can be trusted, unlike you, dear Google.

I’ve cancelled the ads on my blog – you can keep your money. I’d write this blog on a pile of diner napkins and air drop them before I’d continue to take money from you. Your ads, while lining my pockets, are also just a way for you to keep me under your thumb, abiding by your rules.

I’m searching for a new host for my blog because of your controlling ways. It may not happen today or tomorrow, but I can easily foresee the day in which you begin censoring what I write, and that simply will not be tolerated.

I’ve removed your toolbar from my computer. Yes, Google, it’s packed up in a box and I’ll leave it on the porch for you if you want to pick it up. Otherwise, it goes out with the garbage on Friday. I want nothing from you left in my computer.

It’s over Google.

Which Companies Are Using Aborted Human Fetuses in Their Food?

From Gawker.com (INVESTIGATIONS)

JAN 25, 2012 6:12 PM

Last week, Oklahoma State Senator Ralph Shortey introduced a bill that would ban “the manufacture or sale of food or products which use aborted human fetuses.” But which foods or products use aborted human fetuses? Let’s investigate.

NPR speculates that Shortey’s bill has to do with a recent boycott aimed at PepsiCo for working with a company called Senomyx that “has been accused of using proteins derived from human embryonic kidney cells in its research.” Quoth Shortey:

The senator says that his research shows there are companies in the food industry that have used human stem cells to help them research and develop products, including artificial flavorings.

“I don’t know if it is happening in Oklahoma, it may be, it may not be. What I am saying is that if it does happen then we are not going to allow it to manufacture here,” Shortey tells KRMG’s Nicole Burgin.

As an impartial journalistic outlet, we’re not here to tell you that Ralph Shortey is an utter moron whose incompetent attempts to ban stem cell-derived medicine reveal his all-encompassing idiocy, nor to tell you that the use of aborted human fetuses in food would already be in clear violation of a variety of different federal and state laws. Nor, for that matter, are we here to tell you that you should or should not be eating aborted human fetuses. What we are here to do is find out what foods are made using aborted human fetuses. We’ve contacted a number of the country’s largest food companies and asked: do you use aborted human fetuses in your food products?

To commemorate the five year anniversary of his historic infiltration of the Bohemian Grove, the occult playground of the global elite, Alex Jones presents his newest film, The Order of Death, an amazing and horrifying look into the rites and rituals of the modern day descendent’s of Babylonian mystery cults.

Jones’ “Dark Secrets: Inside the Bohemian Grove” documented the first ever hidden camera incursion into the Grove and the bizzare pagan ritual, the Cremation of Care, practiced by its members, all men, including both Presidents Bush, Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, Colin Powell, and Henry Kissenger to name but a few.

“The Order of Death” picks up where “Dark Secrets” leaves off. This new work exposes the connections between the Bohemian Club and Skull and Bones and other occult secret societies. Jones explores the roots of the Grove and its links to occult networks dating back to ancient Egypt and Babylon.

This new film delves deeply into the history of the Grove where powerful men make decisions that affect the world but are completely hidden from public scrutiny. “The Order of Death” details how the Grove has been the backdrop for some of the most earthshattering events in human history including the development of the Starwars program and the Manhattan Project.

Jones’ newest forray into revealing the occult also had him butting heads with local protesters of the Grove who, like the owl-worshippers inside, try to conceal their own occult practices.

“The Order of Death” also features never before seen footage captured by a daring former Grove employee including an astounding look inside the owl worshiped at the Cremation of Care ritual.

Israeli Assassinations and American Presidents

From AntiWar.com

by , January 25, 2012

On Jan. 13 the Atlanta Jewish Times featured a column by its owner-publisher suggesting that Israel might someday need to “order a hit” on the president of the United States.

In the column, publisher Andrew Adler describes a scenario in which Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu would need to “give the go-ahead for U.S.-based Mossad agents to take out a president deemed unfriendly to Israel.”

The purpose? So that the vice president could then take office and dictate U.S. policies that would help the Jewish state “obliterate its enemies.”

Adler wrote that it is highly likely that the idea “has been discussed in Israel’s most inner circles.”

Numerous Jewish leaders quickly condemned Adler, who has now apologized for the column, resigned, and put the newspaper up for sale. An Israeli columnist noted that the hatred being stirred up against Obama is similar to conditions in Israel that led to the murder of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin by a Jewish extremist.

Many of those criticizing Adler claim that he defamed Israel by suggesting that it would ever do such a thing. Abe Foxman, head of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL),proclaimed: “There is absolutely no excuse, no justification, no rationalization for this kind of rhetoric. It doesn’t even belong in fiction.”

In reality, however, Adler’s expectation that Israel’s inner circles have explored such a course of action, and would be willing to undertake it, may be entirely accurate. The fact is that Israel has killed and plotted to assassinate people throughout the world; a number have been Americans. One alleged plot was chillingly similar to Adler’s suggestion.

There is evidence that in 1991 an Israeli undercover team planned to assassinate a U.S. president. The intended victim was George Herbert Walker Bush.

The first person to write of the plot was a former 11-term Republican congressman from Illinois, Paul Findley. In a 1992 article in the Washington Report for Middle East Affairs, Findley described the alleged scheme and how it was revealed.

Findley wrote that the U.S. Secret Service had received a warning that elements of Israel’s spy agency might target Bush when he went to Madrid for the opening day of the peace conference to be held that year.

According to Findley, a former Mossad agent named Victor Ostrovsky, who had written a book exposing Israel’s spy agency, told a group of Canadian parliamentarians that he had received secret intelligence suggesting that the “the Mossad’s hatred of Bush — and support for Vice President Dan Quayle — might lead to an attempt on the president’s life.”

Israel considered Quayle much closer to Israel than Bush. Bush had particularly angered Israel by attempting to pressure Israel into ending its illegal settlement expansion on confiscated Palestinian land by withholding  loan guarantees until Israel ended this practice.

Findley wrote that Ostrovsky’s statements were relayed to Findley’s friend and former colleague Paul “Pete” McCloskey, a prominent former Republican congressman from California who had recently been named by Bush to the National and Community Service Commission.

McCloskey, a decorated Marine veteran and graduate of Stanford Law School who had at one time been considered a presidential contender, flew to Ottawa to debrief Ostrovsky in person and evaluate his information.

Findley reported that Ostrovsky told McCloskey that the Mossad wanted “to do everything possible to preserve a state of war between Israel and its neighbors, assassinating President Bush, if necessary.” Ostrovsky said that a PR campaign was already underway in both Israel and the United States to “prepare public acceptance of Dan Quayle as president.”

Convinced that Ostrovsky was legitimate and his information significant, McCloskey jumped on the next flight to Washington, where he reported Ostrovsky’s intelligence to the Secret Service and State Department.

The apparent plot never went forward, perhaps because Ostrovsky and McCloskey had given it away.

Ostrovsky gave more details about the plot two years later in his 1994 book, The Other Side of Deception: A Rogue Agent Exposes the Mossad’s Secret Agenda, published by HarperCollins.

In the book, Ostrovsky wrote that an extremist group within Mossad was responsible for the plan. He said they kept the plan secret from then–Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir, though they believed that Shamir would have ordered such a hit himself if he hadn’t been constrained by politics. In the lead-up to Israel’s 1948 founding war, Shamir had headed up a terrorist group known for its assassinations.

In his review of Ostrovsky’s book, Ambassador Andrew Killgore, a retired career foreign service officer and publisher of the Washington Report, called the book an “insider’s probing exposé of some Middle East realities that have been hidden too long from all but Israeli eyes.”

Ostrovsky wrote that the Israelis planned a “false flag” operation, in which they would pin the assassination on Palestinians. They kidnapped three Palestinian militants from Beirut who were to be the scapegoats, took them to Israel’s Negev desert, and held them incommunicado.

“Meanwhile,” Killgore writes, “Mossad-generated threats on the president’s life, seemingly from Palestinians, were leaked. These were designed to throw suspicion on the organization of rogue Palestinian terrorist Abu Nidal. Names and descriptions of the three terrorists were leaked to Spanish police so that, if the plot was successful, blame would automatically fall on them.”

Ostrovsky reports that after the assassination plot was eventually canceled, the three Palestinian prisoners were “terminated.”

Targeting Americans

If the plot had gone forward, this would not have been the first time that Israel targeted Americans for death. Nor would it be the first false-flag operation.

In 1954 the Mossad planned to firebomb American installations, libraries, and other gathering places in Egypt. The Muslim Brotherhood was to be blamed for the attacks, thus causing American animosity toward Egypt. An accidental early detonation of one of the devices caused the plot, known as the Lavon Affair, to unravel before it could kill or mutilate the intended Americans.

In 1967 Israeli air and sea forces perpetrated an almost two-hour assault in which they tried to sink a U.S. Navy ship with a crew of 300. While the attack failed to sink the ship, it succeeded in killing 34 Americans and injuring 174. Some analysts have conjectured that this was also a false-flag operation; it is highly likely that Egypt would have been blamed for the attack if the ship had gone down.

• In 1973 Israeli fighter pilots were ordered to shoot down an unarmed U.S. reconnaissance plane (at the time the U.S. was delivering massive weaponry to Israel to prevent it from losing the “Yom Kippur War” with Egypt and Syria). While the Israelis were unable to reach the altitude of the U.S. plane, they did manage that same year to shoot down a civilian Libyan airliner that had strayed over Israeli territory, killing 104 men, women, and children. One was an American.

• In 1990 a Canadian-American scientist and father of seven, Gerald Bull, was assassinated in Belgium. All indications are that it was an Israeli Mossad hit team that drilled five bullets into the back of his head and neck. (Israel has assassinated a number of scientists of various nationalities. The most recent is a 32-year-old father of a young son from Iran.)

In 2003 it came out that Israeli leaders had officially decided to undertake assassination operations on U.S. soil. An FBI spokesman, queried about the Israeli plans, said only: “This is a policy matter. We only enforce federal laws.”

In recent years a growing number of American peace activists have been intentionally killed, maimed, and injured by Israeli forces, including 23-year-old Rachel Corrie, 21-year-old Brian Avery, 37-year-old Tristan Anderson, 21-year-old Emily Henochowicz, and 21-year-old Furkan Dogan.

All of this has been minimally reported in the U.S. press. While major news organizations from England to Israel to Australia covered the Jewish Times apparent endorsement of a possible Israeli assassination of a U.S. president, the scandal has been largely missing from U.S. media. Even Atlanta’s AP bureau inexplicably initially decided not to write a report on it, only finally sending out a story many days later.

Such news omissions concerning Israeli partisans are not rare. In 2004 a fanatic Israel loyalist wrote a letter saying that he was going to burn down Presbyterian churches while worshippers were inside (he was furious at the Presbyterian Church’s decision to divest from companies profiting from the illegal Israeli occupation of Palestinian land). This grisly threat also received minimal media play.

Despite Israeli violence against Americans (even while American taxpayers have given far more of our tax money to Israel than to any other nation) American presidential candidates, with the exception of Ron Paul, continue to vie over who is most devoted to Israel.

It is ironic that Adler considers Obama so bad for Israel, given that Israeli analysts have rated him second only to Mitt Romney in his fidelity to Israel. And Obama has now released a seven-minute video that may catapult our first African-American president into first place in pandering to an apartheid nation.

Perhaps he’ll be safe from assassins.

Despite video evidence, Israeli soldiers are never held accountable for their crimes

From uruknet.info

    informazione dal medio oriente

    المعلومات من الشرق الأوسط

Every week, I watch videos of the weekly anti-occupation protests all over the West Bank, documented by excellent video journalists like TamimiPressHaithamKatibDavivreeb,YisraelPNM and many others.

Every week there is new material to comment on. In every video you would see a brutal act by an Israeli soldier that requires accountability, but typically the act passes away at the end of the day without any of the soldiers being held accountable for their crimes. Often, we find human rights organizations compiling video footage and working to hold the criminal soldiers accountable; B’tselem is one of the leading human rights centers in this field.

In the video above, by YisraelPNM, the video description notes that in minute 6:38 of the video, a masked soldier is seen holding a rifle capable of firing metal bullets coated with rubber or another kind of live ammunition. The point here is that the soldier, unlike any of his colleagues, is wearing a full face mask in order to hide his identity in case he were to be held accountable if he seriously injured or killed a Palestinian unarmed protestor (you can see him in the screengrab below).

This instantly takes me back to the killing of Mustafa Tamimi, on 9 December, who was hit directly in the face with a high velocity tear gas canister shot from the back of a heavily armored army vehicle. No soldier was held accountable for this outright act of murder.

By shooting the tear gas canisterato Tamimi’s face, the soldier broke the army’s firing regulations as well as every law, domestic and international, which protects the people’s right to protest. More than 40 days have passed since Mustafa Tamimi was murdered, and no Israeli soldier has been held accountable for this crime. Israeli soldiers continue to fire tear gas canisters directly at unarmed protestors, even medics are frequently targeted by soldiers.

In the video above, you can see at minute 3:45 a medic who was directly shot at by soldiers with high velocity tear gas canisters on his thigh.  The Israeli army continues to breach every human right and the right to protest not to mention their own firing regulations. This doesn’t seem to be decreasing; criminals are not being held accountable. It is just like the Wild West, but it is the Wild West-Bank.

Doing a Background Check on CNN

From Pakalert Press

Posted on  on January 5, 2012

Since CNN broadcasters seem so intent on looking back decades into promo letters and newletters put out by one of Ron Pauls organizations, when everyone admits Ron Paul did not write the letters, lets take a look at the background of some of those affiliated with CNN. It’s as elitist as you can get, with strong ties to the CIA recruiting ground, Yale University.

CNN is owned by Times Warner,  CEO Jeffery L. Bewkes is a director of the Council on Foreign Relations and also serves on the board of Yale University.

Also affiliated with Yale and CNN are Anderson Cooper and David Gergen.

Anderson Cooper spent time interning, during his summer breaks in his sophomore and junior years at Yale, at the CIA.

Cooper is the son of Gloria Vanderbilt and the great-great-great-grandson of Cornelius Vanderbilt. It was J.P. Morgan, Rockefeller and Vanderbilt who developed Jekyll Island, where the Wall Street elite developed the plan to launch the Federal Reserve.

Cooper is also a member of the Manuscript Society (aka The Wrexham Foundation). The Manuscript Society is a secret society at Yale University, like Skull & Bones. The society holds an annual gathering in its tomb on Halloween.

CNN senior political correspondent, David Gergen, is also a member of the Manuscript Society and was a presidential advisor who served during the administrations of Nixon, Ford, Reagan, and Clinton.

It is not clear when the Manuscript Society “tapped” blacks for membership, if ever. There are no publicly known black members of the society.

As for the CNN reporter, Gloria Borger, who badgered Ron Paul, I have already reported on her background:

Well, well, it turns out hit job specialist Gloria Borger is married to Lance Morgan. Morgan is according to the web site of his employer, Powell Tate,”chief communications strategist at Powell Tate in Washington, D.C. He specializes in developing and executing communications strategies for public policy debates, crisis communications and media training.”

So who might be the clients of Powell Tate, where Borger’s husband is “chief communications strategist and crisis communications” adviser?

Just about every part of the military industrial-complex that Ron Paul wants to shrink or shutdown. According to the Powell Tate web site, they provide strategic communications for among others:

The U.S. Army

The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services

The U.S Agency for International Development

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce

and, I’m not joking, The National Pork Board.

Bottom line Gloria Borger’s husband is as inside Washington DC as you can get.

CNN is just the type of organization you would expect to go after Ron Paul, they are at the very core of elitist, establishment, hypocritical, Washington D.C.

Jewish Imperial News

Veterans Today

From Veterans Today

By Gilad Atzmon

This last weekend brought with it some vile manifestations of Jewish politics in its most horrific forms.

United Against the Goyim

In the USA, the owner and publisher of the Atlanta Jewish Times, Andrew Adler, suggested that Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu should consider ordering a Mossad hit team to assassinate U.S. President Barack Obama so that his successor will defend Israel against Iran.

Actually, it wasn’t just Obama whom Adler suggested to eliminate, the Atlanta Jewish Times listed three lethal options to help Israel counter Iran’s nuclear capability. The first, to launch a pre-emptive strike against Hamas and Hezbollah, the second to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities and the third is to assassinate the current American president.

Devastatingly, Adler’s murderous attitude towards politics is wholly consistent with some Biblical and Talmudic anti-gentile teaching. It recalls clearly certain Old Testament genocidal verses such as Leviticus 26:7-8:

‘You will chase your enemies, and they shall fall by the sword before you. Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; your enemies shall fall by the sword before you.’

It is also consistent with the appalling way in which Palestinians are abused by the Jewish State.  But it is also consistent with the Jewish cultural wrath towards the dissenting Jesus and towards dissent in general. May I remind readers that the word Yeshu – Jesus in Hebrew – is the abbreviation of the Hebrew phrase

“may his name and memory be blotted out”.

Without comparing president Obama to Jesus, Adler’s homicidal inclination is somewhat similar. Seemingly, some Jews have yet to forgive Jesus – nor President Obama. .

The American Jewish Committee in Atlanta condemned Adler’s article, saying that Adler’s proposals were

shocking beyond belief.”

– a pretty bizarre reaction, considering  that the American Jewish Committee is itself an enthusiastic advocate of a war against Iran. Similarly, warmonger Alan Dershowitz listed recently the ‘legal’ reasoning behind an Israeli attack on Iran. True, he has yet to call for an American President to be murdered, he just thinks that launching another world war is a ‘reasonable’ thing to do. And, as far as I can remember, the American Jewish Committee didn’t rush to denounce Dershowitz or to apologise on his behalf or in the name of the Jews.

United Against Freedom

In Britain, following some relentless Jewish Lobby pressure, Press TV, The Iranian News Channel was forced off the air after Ofcom  (The ‘Independent’ regulator for the UK Communications Industries), revoked its licence for ‘breaching the Communications Act’. This should come as no surprise. Bearing in mind that 80% of British Tory MPs are Conservative Friends of Israel, we in Britain must expect the rapid fading away of some of our most elementary freedoms.

United Against Palestine

On Saturday the Islamophobic blog Harry’s Place and the Zionist mouthpiece Jewish Chronicle completed their takeover of UK Palestinian Solidarity Campaign (PSC). In the last two years, the PSC EC has expelled and marginalised some of its leading intellectuals amongst them some prominent Palestinian and Muslim activists and now, at last, they are beginning to receive their just credit.

In the last two months we have noticed that the PSC has been praised by both the notorious JC and Harry’s Place. Two weeks ago, pro-war Harry’s Place thanked the Jewish ‘anti’-Zionists for promoting Jewish tribal interests at the midst of the Palestinian Solidarity Campaign and this weekend a PSC Executive member confirmed that PSC’s latest maneuvers against ‘anti-Semitism’ were in response to criticism from the rabid Zionist website Harry’s Place and the Jewish Chronicle. Like others, I am confused.  Should a Palestinian solidarity group surrender to an Islamophobic blog, a Zionist paper and other ‘Jews-only’ pressure groups?

Judging by the scale of the  celebration on Islamophobic Harry’s Place, you’d be forgiven for assuming that PSC – now firmly committed to the struggle against anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial – is now just one more Zionist outlet, whose prime interest is in promoting Jewish tribal interests. I’m sure that the Palestinians in besieged Gaza and in refugee camps all over the Middle East are over the moon.

However, to counter the now complete Zionist takeover of PSC EC, a bunch of leading solidarity  activists, journalists and intellectuals have launched deLiberation, a new UK dissident magazine. We aim to become a leading UK media outlet, to provide news, analysis and fearless criticism – exactly where The Guardian and the BBC so miserably fail. And we will fill that space now created by the current PSC Executive Committee.

United Against The Guardian

Two days ago, I discovered that CIF Watch, a Jewish supremacist site interested solely in cleansing British press of any criticism of Israel and Jewish power, was boasting that the Guardian surrendered to their pressure and

‘removed an Atzmon passage.’

Apparently the Jewish site was annoyed that Khaled Diab quoted me as saying

“The Jewish state is pretty devastated by the idea that a bunch of ‘indigenous Arabs’ are far more technologically advanced than its own chosen cyber pirates.”

Specifically, it didn’t approve of the Guardian printing the word ‘chosen’ in reference to Jews.

The CIF Watch site says of itself that it is

dedicated to monitoring anti-Semitism and combatting the assault on Israel’s legitimacy in the Guardian newspaper’s

Comment is Free’ blog.” So, it is not against racism or discrimination in general, but solely interested in matters to do with one group and its tribal interests.

Shocking but typically, the Guardian surrendered immediately to the Zionist’s demands. As the Guardian rushed to admit: the word ‘chosen’ “is at odds with ‘Guardian regulations”. But the Guardian needs reminding that ‘Choseness’ may be at odds with ‘Guardian regulations’ but it is clearly not ‘at odds’ with Israeli practice, the Israeli legal system, the Jewish Lobby and even Jews-only Palestinian solidarity groups.

United Against Truth

Three months ago I published ‘The Wandering Who’. This book presented a harsh criticism of Jewish identity politics, Left, Right and Centre. It openly argued that contemporary Jewish identity politics is exclusivist, in most cases, racially driven and, in many ways, is a threat to world peace. In some ways, as in Adler’s call to assassinate Obama, it actually also endangers Jews.

The book attempts to grasp the bizarre continuum between Israeli barbarism, Adler’s homicidal inclination, the PSC EC surrender to rabid Zionist bodies and the ‘Guardian’s regulation’.  The book points to the political culture that made Jewish identity politics so powerful and, at the same time, so blind. And in spite of a united front’s attempt to silence the book and its message, in just a short space of time the book sold thousands of copies and its message is spreading like a forest fire.

I’m not one bit surprised by the surge of Jewish power. I wrote a book about it. But, being intimately familiar with Jewish history, I know exactly where it will lead. Jewish political arrogance has always proved to be, above all, devastatingly dangerous for Jews.

For the sake of peace, both Jews and gentiles must confront the prominence of Jewish identity politics. We should never be afraid to question ideologies and lobbies that impose a threat to peace, our value systems, freedom of thought, humanity and humanism..

Even Israel Admits that Iran Has Not Decided to Build a Nuclear Bomb

Posted on January 26, 2012 by WashingtonsBlog

Despite Misleading Hype, No Government Leaders Think that Iran Is Building a Nuclear Bomb

American and European leaders say that there is no evidence that Iran is building a nuclear weapon.

Even Israel – which has threatened to attack Iran on its own – now admits the same thing.

As Haaretz noted on January 18th:

The intelligence assessment Israeli officials will present later this week to [Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Martin ] Dempsey indicates that Iran has not yet decided whether to make a nuclear bomb.

The Israeli view is that while Iran continues to improve its nuclear capabilities, it has not yet decided whether to translate these capabilities into a nuclear weapon – or, more specifically, a nuclear warhead mounted atop a missile. Nor is it clear when Iran might make such a decision.

Obama uses State of the Union speech to warn Iran to ‘change its course’ on nuclear ambitions as Europe sends battleships to Gulf

From Mail Online

  • U.S. President told Congress ‘no options off the table’ but door remains open to peaceful talks with Tehran

  • Germany, France and Britain make rare joint statement, warning Iran it would face economic isolation

  • Tehran remains defiant and says it will block the sensitive oil-important Strait

Iran is building a nuclear power station, and the IAEA confirms there is no evidence that Iran is building weapons. Under the terms of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, Iran is allowed to have nuclear power, medical isotopes, and other industrial uses of nuclear material. Indeed, under Article IV of the NNPT, the United States is obligated to assist Iran in building their power stations, and were the US in compliance with its own treaty obligations, there would be no question that Iran’s power station is indeed nothing more than just a power station. The United States is in violation of its international obligations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty first by refusing to honor Article IV and second by using the threat of force to coerce Iran to surrender their rights under the NNPT. The United States is legally in the wrong here.

Accusations that Iran is building nuclear weapons are coming from Israel, which in 1981 bombed the Iraq nuclear power station at Osirak under the same claim; that Iraq was building nuclear weapons in a hidden laboratory under the power station. Following the invasion of Iraq, experts from the IAIA carried out a full inspection of the runs of the power station and found no evidence of clandestine weapons facilities in the wreckage. To date, the only known weapons manufacturing plant hidden under a power station is the not-as-clandestine-as-they-hoped weapons lab hidden underneath Israel’s own Dimona. In short, Israel is batting zero at correctly identifying weapons labs in other nations and we should not be taking their lead today with regard to Iran.

Finally, we were all tricked into war with Iraq on this very same claim of a threat of nuclear weapons. After smashing that nation and hanging Saddam, no nuclear weapons were ever found. Fool me once …

1. Last Spring, Rose Gottemoeller, an assistant secretary of state and Washington’s chief nuclear arms negotiator, asked Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Israel refused.

2. The United Nations passed a resolution calling on Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and to submit to inspections. Israel refused.

3. The IAEA asked Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and to submit to inspections. Israel refused.

4. Iran’s formal notification to the IAEA of the planned construction of the backup fuel-rod facility underscores that Iran is playing by the rules of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty which Iran has signed.

5. Iran allows IAEA inspections of all its facilities.

6. Contrary to face-saving claims, it appears that the US and Israel were both caught off guard by Iran’s announcement of a planned underground (to avoid being bombed) enrichment facility. The reasoning is simple. Had the US or Israel announced the existence of he new facility before Iran’s notified the IAEA, it would have put Iran on the defensive. As it is now, the US and Israel seem to be playing catch up, casting doubt on the veracity of Israel’s claims to “know” that Iran is a nuclear threat.

7. The IAEA and all 16 United States Intelligence Agencies are unanimous in agreement that Iran is not building and does not possess nuclear weapons.

8. In 1986, Mordachai Vanunu blew the whistle and provided photographs showing Israel’s clandestine nuclear weapons factory underneath the reactor at Dimona.

9. Israel made the same accusations against Iraq that it is making against Iran, leading up to Israel’s bombing of the power station at Osirik. Following the invasion of 2003,international experts examined the ruins of the power station at Osirik and found no evidence of a clandestine weapons factory in the rubble.

10. The United Nations has just released the Goldstone Report, a scathing report which accuses Israel of 37 specific war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza earlier this year. Israel has denounced the report as “Anti-Semitic (even though Judge Goldstone is himself Jewish), and the United States will block the report from being referred to the War Crimes Tribunal at the Hague, thereby making the US Government an accessory after-the-fact.

11. Recently revealed documents prove not only that Israel has nuclear weapos, but actually tried to sell some to Apartheid South Africa. Who else Israel approached to sell nuclear weapons remains an unasked question.

12. In 1965, Israel stole over 200-600 pounds of weapons-grade uranium from the United States.

13. Declassified documents from the former South African regime prove not only that
Israel has had nuclear weapons for decades, but has tried to sell them to other countries!

We all need to be Joe Wilson right now. We need to stand up and scream, “LIAR!” at every politician and every talking media moron that is pushing this war in Iran. And we need to keep dong it until they get the message that we will not be deceived any more.

Israel wants to send your kids off to die in Iran, and YOU are the only one that can stop them.

The U.S. government has informed Israel that it will recommend that Congress approve a three-year extension of loan guarantees to Israel, worth $3.8 billion. The announcement came after several months of worry in Israel that the loan guarantees would not be extended, despite Israel’s request. (Full report HERE)

And this is where the money goes…..

Eyewitness to Israel’s ethnic cleansing

Purdue University professor Bill Mullen traveled to Palestine with a delegation of academics to find out about the obstacles facing Palestinian students and educators.

In Hebron, graffiti artists have renamed Shuhana Street “Apartheid Street” (Bill Mullen | SW)

AT 4:45 a.m. on the morning of August 2, 2009, the family of Miraym Al-Ghawi was awakened by pounding on the door of their home in Sheikh Jarrah, East Jerusalem. A small bomb was detonated, throwing open the door. Through it walked masked and armed Israeli commandoes, who dragged the Al-Ghawis, including the six Al-Ghawi children, into the night.

They collected the family’s belongings in trucks and dumped them outside the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, where they were ransacked. The Al-Ghawi’s youngest child, age 4, stood and watched as commandoes set fire to her bed and her playthings. The daughter still cannot sleep without her mother. Medical experts have diagnosed her ailment as “settler trauma.”

Miraym Al-Ghawi told us this story as we visited Palestine as part of a delegation sponsored by the U.S. Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (USACBI). Five U.S. professors from the delegation, myself included, talked with the Al-Ghawis in Sheikh Jarrah, once one of the liveliest Palestinian neighborhoods in East Jerusalem.

Since 1967, however, nearly 9,000 Palestinians have lost their residency rights in East Jerusalem, 15 Israeli settlements have been built, and Palestinians now have access to less than 15 percent of the available land. The Al-Ghawi family is one of four families in East Jerusalem evicted since 2008 as part of Israel’s annexation, settlement and “de-Arabization” plan for Palestine.

The plan has been effective: unemployment among Palestinians in East Jerusalem is now nearly 35 percent, while the poverty rate is nearly 50 percent. Palestinians in East Jerusalem make up about 35 percent of the population and pay 33 percent of all municipal taxes, while the Israeli municipality spends less than 5 percent on services for East Jerusalem.

A 163-kilometer “separation wall” in Jerusalem denies more than 22,000 residents easy access to their work and markets. There are currently more than 270 Palestinian prisoners from East Jerusalem and 197 detainees. Eight of the prisoners are children.

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

ISRAEL’S COLONIZATION of Palestine is a de facto totalitarianism meant to strangle decades of resistance by an entire people. But it has not succeeded.

After her eviction, for example, Miraym Al-Ghawi set up a tent near a fig tree outside their former residence and in defiance stayed there for six months. On 17 occasions, the municipality forced her to tear down the tent; 17 times, she rebuilt. She has repeatedly paid out fines levied against her private “occupation” of her own former home.

Today, she rents an apartment in a neighborhood near Sheikh Jarrah, but comes every day to sit near her old residence in order to demonstrate her refusal to be displaced. She remains engaged in a court battle for her house even as parking lots and playgrounds are built in Sheikh Jarrah for newly arrived settlers on confiscated Palestinian land.

And this is just one story of the terror and violence of the Israeli police state that saturates daily life under occupation.

On a Sunday morning in Hebron, for example, we walked through a Palestinian open market along Shuhada Street. The street sits beside the Ibrahim Mosque, where in 1994 American-born Zionist settler Baruch Goldstein massacred 29 Arab worshippers and wounded 125 others. The massacre set off Palestinian riots and protests in which Israeli soldiers murdered 19 more Palestinians.

The street, known as Apartheid Street by locals, has now been closed off at numerous access points by Israeli security forces in order to stop or monitor Palestinian movement, protect newly arrived settlers and restrict commerce. Checkpoints, concrete blocks and impromptu walls appear at nearly every turn.

The market itself is under constant siege by settlers who live above street level and throw trash, feces and even acid onto merchants and shoppers below. Numerous storefronts along the street are closed. Israeli police sealed one of them shut because a demonstration was held at the site.

As we walked through the marketplace, Israeli soldiers perched overhead on street corners and at one point marched two abreast in three rows straight through the market center. No detail escapes the attention of Israeli authorities–even a 100-meter stretch of sidewalk is divided by a three-foot wall, Palestinians on one side, settlers on the other. Children as young as 2 peddled “Palestine” bracelets on the streets as they tried to help their families scratch out an existence in a strangulated economy.

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

THE USACBI campaign began in 2009 in response to the call by Palestinian civil society to join the boycott, divestment and sanction (BDS) movement against Israel. It supports and models the mission statement created in 2004 by PACBI, the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel. The original PACBI statement read in part:

Inspired by the struggle of South Africans against apartheid and in the spirit of international solidarity, moral consistency and resistance to injustice and oppression, we, representatives of Palestinian civil society, call upon international civil society organizations and people of conscience all over the world to impose broad boycotts and implement divestment initiatives against Israel similar to those applied to South Africa in the apartheid era. We appeal to you to pressure your respective states to impose embargoes and sanctions against Israel. We also invite conscientious Israelis to support this call, for the sake of justice and genuine peace.

These nonviolent punitive measures should be maintained until Israel meets its obligation to recognize the Palestinian people’s inalienable right to self-determination and fully complies with the precepts of international law by:

1. Ending its occupation and colonization of all Arab lands and dismantling the Wall;

2. Recognizing the fundamental rights of the Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel to full equality; and

3. Respecting, protecting and promoting the rights of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and properties as stipulated in UN Resolution 194.

USACBI supports each of the above principles and calls for a number of measures to demonstrate support for them. For example, the campaign asks signatories to:

1. Refrain from participation in any form of academic and cultural cooperation, collaboration or joint projects with Israeli institutions;

2. Advocate a comprehensive boycott of Israeli institutions at the national and international levels, including suspension of all forms of funding and subsidies to these institutions;

3. Promote divestment and disinvestment from Israel by academic institutions, and place pressure on your own institution to suspend all ties with Israeli universities, including collaborative projects, study abroad, funding and exchanges.

The USACBI call has thus far been signed by nearly 600 U.S. professors, 200 cultural workers, 200 international supporters and 44 organizations. It seeks to point out that the Israeli occupation has damaged or destroyed academic or intellectual freedom, especially for Palestinians living under occupation.

For example, Israel routinely restricts the movement of Palestinian students, forcing them to attend apartheid schools, making them pass through walls and checkpoints on a daily basis, and severely limiting their ability to choose a university within Israel/Palestine or to study abroad.

Israel has severely restricted the number of students from Gaza who may attend Birzeit University, the most prestigious research university in the West Bank. Palestinian students who do travel abroad to study or seek re-entry to Palestine are often labeled “security risks” or denied entry.

Palestinian universities like Birzeit in Ramallah consistently face a “crisis of funding,” according to university president Khalil Hindi, with whom we met on our delegation visit. Though the universities operate under Israeli occupation, the Palestinian Authority is the sole source of funds for the university, and Israel provides nothing.

Israeli academics, meanwhile, often produce research that colludes with the occupation regime, while the state heavily monitors what Palestinian scholars can produce. We met with a group of scholars at the Mada al-Carmel Arab Center for Applied Social Research in Haifa. The center’s advisory board chair Dr. Nadim Rouhana told us that the activities of the Mada Center are heavily monitored by Israel, while Palestinian scholars attached to Mada often work or study in Israeli universities that reproduce intellectual and social apartheid.

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

IN ADDITION to attacking the absence of academic freedom in Palestine, USACBI seeks to illuminate the structural relationship between Israeli apartheid and higher education as it impacts Palestinians. As Palestinian scholar George Bisharat has written:

Many Israeli academic institutions either benefit from, or participate in, Israeli government actions that violate Palestinian rights. For example, Tel Aviv University sits in part on land belonging to Sheikh Muwannis, a Palestinian village whose residents were expelled by Jewish militias or fled in fear in March 1948. Hebrew University in Jerusalem uses over 800 acres of land illegally expropriated from Palestinian private owners in the West Bank after the 1967 war. Bar Ilan University has established a branch in an illegal Israeli settlement in the West Bank…

Finally, discrimination against students who are Palestinian citizens of Israel in admission policies is widespread as revealed by the decision of the heads of Israeli universities in 2003 to reverse experimental admission policies that had increased the number of Arab students.

On our delegation visit, we met with Anan Quzmar from the Right to Education Campaign at Birzeit University in the West Bank. The campaign supports the BDS and USACBI campaigns as part of a larger international strategy to destroy apartheid/colonial education in Palestine. According to the campaign:

– Eight of the 11 universities in the West Bank and Gaza Strip have been shelled or broken into by the Israeli Army since September 2000.

– Hebron University and the Palestine Polytechnic University in Hebron were closed down by Israeli military order for much of 2003, and students had to physically break down the gates to their universities, in defiance of the Israeli Army, to reconvene classes and demand their right to an education.

– Birzeit University has been closed down by Israeli military order 15 times in its history and all Palestinian universities and the majority of Palestinian schools, including kindergartens, were closed down by military order between 1987-1992, denying a whole generation their right to education.

– More than 700 children, 200 university students and 39 teachers have been killed by the Israeli military since September 2000.

– More than 3,000 Palestinian children have been arrested by the Israeli military since September 2000, and some 300 children are currently held in Israeli prisons and detention centers.

– Two presidents of Birzeit University student council were imprisoned in 2004, and four of the 11 members of the student council were imprisoned in the same year. Currently, some 80 students from Birzeit University are held in Israeli prisons and detention centers, 10 of whom are being held without charge or trial, including human rights worker and sociology student, Ziyad Hmeidan.

The Right to Education mission statement calls for “trade unions, education institutions, social and political movements and concerned individuals around the world to support the right to education in Palestine.” The campaign is founded on principles established in UN resolutions that declare education a human right. It calls for scholars, students and activists to “establish connections with Palestinian universities, students and faculty, through solidarity or academic exchange.”

This strategy is meant to counteract the deadly and ongoing collaboration between American and Israeli universities, such as the new partnership between Cornell University and Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. Technion is Israel’s leader in “applied science” research and the development of killing machines like the unmanned armored tanks used in Israel’s 2008-2009 Operation Cast Lead that massacred more than 1,400 Gazans.

In December, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced plans for a $2 billion research campus in New York in partnership with Cornell and Technion. USACBI’s mission seeks to shut down forever such deadly collaborations.

Perhaps the most fitting symbol of the need for educators to play a role in the liberation of Palestine was graffiti on the wall of a Palestinian school in Hebron: “To learn or not to learn–that is the question.” The words beckon not just to the education of future generations of Palestinians, but to the education of people everywhere about the urgency of ending Israel’s colonial regime.

Iceland Declares Independence from International Banks

From NetRightDaily

By Bill Wilson – Iceland is free.  And it will remain so, so long as her people wish to remain autonomous of the foreign domination of her would-be masters — in this case, international bankers.

On April 9, the fiercely independent people of island-nation defeated a referendum that would have bailed out the UK and the Netherlands who had covered the deposits of British and Dutch investors who had lost funds in Icesave bank in 2008.

At the time of the bank’s failure, Iceland refused to cover the losses.  But the UK and Netherlands nonetheless have demanded that Iceland repay them for the “loan” as a condition for admission into the European Union.

In response, the Icelandic people have told Europe to go pound sand. The final vote was 103,207 to 69,462, or 58.9 percent to 39.7 percent.   “Taxpayers should not be responsible for paying the debts of a private institution,” said Sigriur Andersen, a spokeswoman for the Advice group that opposed the bailout.

A similar referendum in 2009 on the issue, although with harsher terms, found 93.2 percent of the Icelandic electorate rejecting a proposal to guarantee the deposits of foreign investors who had funds in the Icelandic bank. The referendum was invoked when President Olafur Ragnur Grimmson vetoed legislation the Althingi, Iceland’s parliament, had passed to pay back the British and Dutch.

Under the terms of the agreement, Iceland would have had to pay £2.35 billion to the UK, and €1.32 billion to the Netherlands by 2046 at a 3 percent interest rate.  Its rejection for the second time by Iceland is a testament to its people, who feel they should bear no responsibility for the losses of foreigners endured in the financial crisis.

That opposition to bailouts led to Iceland’s decision to allow the bank to fail in 2008.  Not that the taxpayers there could have afforded to.  As noted by Bloomberg News, at the time the crisis hit in 2008, “the banks had debts equal to 10 times Iceland’s $12 billion GDP.”

“These were private banks and we didn’t pump money into them in order to keep them going; the state did not shoulder the responsibility of the failed private banks,” Iceland President Olafur Grimsson told Bloomberg Television.

The voters’ rejection came despite threats to isolate Iceland from funding in international financial institutions.  Iceland’s national debt has already been downgraded by credit rating agencies, and now those same agencies have promised to do so once again as punishment for defying the will of international bankers.

This is just the latest in the long drama since 2008 of global institutions refusing to take losses in the financial crisis.  Threats of a global economic depression and claims of being “too big to fail” have equated to a loaded gun to the heads of representative governments in the U.S. and Europe.  Iceland is of particular interest because it did not bail out its banks like Ireland did, or foreign ones like the U.S. did.

If that fervor catches on amongst taxpayers worldwide, as it has in Iceland and with the tea party movement in America, the banks would have something to fear; that is, the inability to draw from limitless amounts of funding from gullible government officials and central banks.  It appears that the root cause is government guarantees, whether explicit or implicit, on risk-taking by the banks.

Ultimately, such guarantees are not necessary to maintain full employment or even prop up an economy with growth, they are simply designed to allow these international institutions to overleverage and increase their profit margins in good times — and to avoid catastrophic losses in bad times.

The lesson here is instructive across the pond, but it is a chilling one.  If the U.S. — or any sovereign for that matter — attempts to restructure their debts, or to force private investors to take a haircut on their own foolish gambles, these international institutions have promised the equivalent of economic war in response.  However, the alternative is for representative governments to sacrifice their independence to a cadre of faceless bankers who share no allegiance to any nation.

It is the conflict that has already defined the beginning of the 21st Century.  The question is whether free peoples will choose to remain free, as Iceland has, or to submit.

Is the NYPD Experimenting With Drones Over the City? Evidence Points to Yes –-Miami, cities in Texas also said to be trying this new way to be eye in the sky 23 Jan 2012 They’re used in war zones for surveillance and military strikes. But are there plans to deploy drones in the Big Apple to keep an eye on New Yorkers? More and more people believe it’s inevitable, reports CBS 2. Drones are unmanned aircraft that can fly at low altitudes and shoot live video — or shoot live missiles. Surveillance cameras already dot the city’s streets, but is the NYPD exploring the use of even more eyes in the skies, in the form of drones? Some evidence points to yes.

Is This Why They Won’t Prosecute? Top Justice Officials Represented Big Banks, Freddie, Fannie and Mers

Posted on January 21, 2012 by WashingtonsBlog

Eric Holder and Head of DOJ’s Criminal Division Were Partners for a Firm Which Used to Represent the Big Banks, Fannie, Freddie and MERS

Obama’s Department of Justice isn’t prosecuting any big fish.

Indeed, the Obama administration is prosecuting fewer financial crimes than Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, George H.W. Bush or Bill Clinton.

This is true even though the big banks – such as Bank of America, Citigroup, JP Morgan and Wells Fargo – committed some fraud, but their entire business model is fraudulent. See thisthisthisthis and this.

The same is true of Fannie, Freddie. And even more so with Mers, where its entire purpose – from day one – was fraudulent. Herehereherehere and here.

So why haven’t the fraudsters running these chop shops been prosecuted by Attorney General Eric Holder, and the head of the DOJ’s criminal division Lanny Breuer?

Reuters helps explain why today:

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and Lanny Breuer, head of the Justice Department’s criminal division [watch this to get a sense of Breuer], were partners for years at a Washington law firm that represented a Who’s Who of big banks and other companies at the center of alleged foreclosure fraud, a Reuters inquiry shows.

The firm, Covington & Burling, is one of Washington’s biggest white shoe law firms. Law professors and other federal ethics experts said that federal conflict of interest rules required Holder and Breuer to recuse themselves from any Justice Department decisions relating to law firm clients they personally had done work for.

Both the Justice Department and Covington declined to say if either official had personally worked on matters for the big mortgage industry clients. Justice Department spokeswoman Tracy Schmaler said Holder and Breuer had complied fully with conflict of interest regulations, but she declined to say if they had recused themselves from any matters related to the former clients.

Reuters reported in December that under Holder and Breuer, the Justice Department hasn’t brought any criminal cases against big banks or other companies involved in mortgage servicing, even though copious evidence has surfaced of apparent criminal violations in foreclosure cases.

The evidence, including records from federal and state courts and local clerks’ offices around the country, shows widespread forgery, perjury, obstruction of justice, and illegal foreclosures on the homes of thousands of active-duty military personnel.

While Holder and Breuer were partners at Covington, the firm’s clients included the four largest U.S. banks – Bank of America, Citigroup, JP Morgan Chase and Wells Fargo & Co – as well as at least one other bank that is among the 10 largest mortgage servicers.

Covington represented Freddie Mac …. [and] MERS Corp …. Court records show that Covington, in the late 1990s, provided legal opinion letters needed to create MERS on behalf of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase and several other large banks.blank Is This Why They Won’t Prosecute? Top Justice Officials Represented Big Banks, Freddie, Fannie and Mers

***blank Is This Why They Won’t Prosecute? Top Justice Officials Represented Big Banks, Freddie, Fannie and Mers

Covington in 2004 also wrote a crucial opinion letter commissioned by MERS,providing legal justification for its electronic registry. MERS spokeswoman Karmela Lejarde declined to comment on Covington legal work done for MERS.

This isn’t as bad as Department of Justice lawyer John Yoo’s letter justifying torture by the Bush Administration, but it’s arguably somewhat analogous, as it is a legal opinion trying to justify blatant illegality.

No wonder top financial crime expert Bill Black says that we have to fire Eric “Place” Holder  and all other government officials who are blocking prosecution of the criminals who caused the economic crisis.

Indeed, it makes one wonder whether the Department of Justice still dispenses justice … or has turned into a “protection racket” for the rich and powerful.

Of course, most of the rest of boys in D.C. are not much better.

Rand Paul: TSA Agents Barked At Me, Sure Felt Like I Was Being Detained

From The Intel Hub

The Intel Hub
January 24, 2012

Today Rand Paul, speaking to the Daily Caller, described his detention by TSA agents yesterday in what many believe amounted to a clear cut violation of the Constitution.

Paul described his detention as a big ordeal that highlights the growing problems with the Transportation Security Agency and their police state actions.

For their part, the White House came out in defense of the TSA thugs who detained a sitting Senator as a possible terrorist, with Whit House spokesman James Carney attempting to change the narrative and reality of the story by claiming Rand wasn’t actually detained.

“Let’s be clear,” Carney said. “The passenger was not detained. He was escorted out of the area by local law-enforcement.”

This statement is such a blatant lie that its actually hard to believe it was said.

According to Paul and all the evidence gathered so far, this was absolutely a detention that caused him to miss a major speech.

But Sen. Paul told TheDC that he certainly felt like he was detained. “If you’re told you can’t leave, does that count as detention?” Paul asked.

“I tried to leave the cubicle to speak to one of the TSA people and I was barked at: ‘Do not leave the cubicle!’ So, that, to me sounds like I’m being asked not to leave the cubicle. It sounds a little bit like I’m being detained.”

We now live in a country where TSA agents can detain one of their political opponents and in turn be defended and even praised by an official spokesman of the President. (Who also happens to be a political opponent of the person detained)

The Public’s Right to Know

From SaveTheNews.org

Story picked up from 12160.info

Megan Tady, January 24, 2012

In the media reform world, we often say we’re fighting for “better” media. Of course, “better” is the sort of word that begs comparison: better than what? If we’re to demand more of our local broadcasters, we need to know what’s wrong with the status quo.

Broadcasters use the public airwaves free of charge, and in return are supposed to provide programming that fulfills the news and information needs of communities. The Federal Communications Commission requires broadcasters to keep public files detailing exactly how they serve local needs. But these records are generally kept in file cabinets at local TV stations and are not easily accessible. So the pressure is on for broadcasters to put these files online in a publicly searchable database.

The FCC is currently taking public comments on just such a proposal; the deadline for comments is this Thursday, and already thousands of people have urged the agency to adopt the rules. Earlier this month, the Public Interest Public Airwaves coalition, which includes Free Press, submitted four petitions totaling 68,000 signatures to the FCC in support of the rule change.

While the proposal may seem like a small tweak, it’s actually a major proceeding that will have lasting implications on the kind of news and information we receive. Enhanced-disclosure rules would do the following:

  • force broadcasters to reveal how much money political campaigns spend on advertising at local stations

  • require broadcasters to document who is paying for political ads

  • require broadcasters to disclose sponsored “news” segments produced by advertisers

  • reveal whether stations are engaged in “covert consolidation,” an increasingly common practice in which stations merge operations and air the same newscast on multiple stations

And finally, the rules would make broadcasters disclose how much of their programming actually serves the public interest.

Dozens of organizations and academic institutions have already submitted comments to the FCC in support of the new disclosure rules. In its comments, the Association of Health Care Journalists (AHCJ), which represents more than 1,200 journalists, expressed concern about “pay-for-play” arrangements in which advertisers sponsor specific content. Broadcasters are increasingly presenting advertisements — also known as “fake news” — as news segments, and divulge that they are ads only during a program’s rolling credits. The new rules would allow the public to learn online whether a particular segment was an advertisement, or actual news.

The “pay-for-play” scenario is particularly disturbing in regard to health-related advertisements, the AHCJ wrote in its comment to the FCC:

Such practices are especially pernicious when applied to matters of health and health care — as they often are — because people make decisions affecting their well-being based on such reports. The result is harm to individuals who make the wrong choice based on biased information and increased costs in the health care system that we all pay for. Such deceptiveness also threatens the credibility of all journalism. A bright line must be drawn between those who say what they’re paid to say and those who make an independent effort to find out what’s true.

The need for better disclosure is particularly pressing in this election year. The Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision, which lifted restrictions on corporate political spending, has resulted in broadcasters raking in millions from political campaign ads. Spending is expected to exceed $3 billion in the 2012 election cycle. And thanks to the emergence of Super PACs that often hide behind deceptive front names, it can be hard to know who is behind the spending.

Glenn Frankel, director of the school of journalism at the University of Texas at Austin, said this type of cloaked spending could affect decision making during elections. In a comment to the FCC, Frankel wrote, “The public needs to know in a timely fashion the identity of the corporations funding these ad campaigns in order to make informed decisions about whom to vote for.”

Take Saturday’s GOP presidential primary in South Carolina, for example. The average TV viewer in South Carolina’s capital saw 182 political ads before Saturday’s primary. Broadcasters pocketed more than $11 million in political-ad money. But how much election coverage did local stations provide? Broadcasters don’t want to say, and it’s certainly hard to find out.

Major broadcasters, including those in the National Association of Broadcasters, oppose the FCC’s rule changes, and have complained that having to continually update an online database would pose significant challenges. As the nonprofit Common Frequency suggested in its comment to the FCC, broadcasters seem to be the only industry in the modern world that prefers filing cabinets to an electronic filing system.

People are fed up with fake news on TV. People are angry about countless political ads whose backers are shrouded in secrecy. People want to know how much local news their TV stations actually produce. Having easy access to broadcasters’ public files is the first step toward holding our broadcasters accountableRegister your comment to the FCC here.

Littlewood : Stop the pro-Israel lobby

My Catbird Seat

The ‘consultation’ on a statutory lobby register may be a window of opportunity

by Stuart Littlewood

The Queen needs a new royal yacht. But the British government says it can’t afford to buy her one. The £80 million for the project must come from private sources.

“Leading British companies will… be asked to donate funds in exchange for naming rights to various decks and facilities on board,” says The Guardian. Does this mean Her Majesty will be seen entertaining in the Goldman Sachs stateroom and sipping daiquiris on the Starbucks sun-deck? Will she shelter from squalls in the Murdoch salon and arrive and depart via the Revlon helipad?

The last royal yacht, Britannia, was a highly successful tool for promoting Great Britain Limited. That being the case, such an important national asset ought to be government funded, not sponsored by tacky brand names.

£80 million is chickenfeed in the great scheme of things. Why are we so hard up that there’s not enough in the public purse to pay for a new boat for our beloved sovereign? One reason, of course, is because for years we’ve been suckered into joining the United States in fighting Israel’s wars of aggression. Given our huge debts it beggars belief that we’re gearing up for another one… this time against Iran… and pushing the oil markets to the edge of panic.

Opening of new MOD Middle Eastern training facilities at Stanta in Thetford Forest, Norfolk which consist of a rural village and urban complex designed by OPTAG to train troops heading to Afghanistan Photo: ALBANPIX

Haven’t we had our fill of warmongering idiocy?

War fever was magnified at the weekend with an announcement that the Ministry of Defence had splashed out another £14 million on building a replica Middle East village in Thetford Forest for training our troops. It’s complete with shops, fully furnished homes, the stench of rotting meat and a bomb survivor with limbs blown off.

The site was originally a replica Nazi village built in 1942, but that was training for a war of a very different kind… a war in defence of our realm and for our very survival.

Why do we get dragged into these illegal and inhuman expeditions to devastate countries that are no threat to us?

Because a team of Israel-firsters in our midst think it’s smart to promote the ambitions of a foreign power at the expense of our own national interest and everyone else’s.

They have taken command and control of our country by infiltrating the highest levels of government. For example they hold the key jobs in the Foreign Office.

Britain Plotting with Israel to attack Iran

Our watchdogs ought to have booted them out for violating the sacred principles of conduct in public life, but these leeches are now permanently attached while the dogs are de-fanged and petted.

I can imagine just how robustly the criminal regime in Israel is reprimanded by prime minister David Cameron, a self-declared Zionist, by foreign secretary William Hague, an avid fan of Israel since his teenage years, by Alistair Burt a former officer of the Conservative Friends of Israel and now minister for Middle East affairs, and by Ambassador Gould in Tel Aviv who I’m told is the first Jew appointed to that post.

The proposed lobby register

Our coalition government has just provided a glimmer of hope for a solution – an unintended consequence no doubt – by releasing a woolly discussion document on proposals for a statutory register of lobbyists. This is part of a promise to clean up politics and provide greater transparency in the wake of scandals that destroyed the last shred of public confidence in our political system.

The government defines lobbyists as ‘those who seek to influence or change government policy on behalf of a third party’. The document itself  says that a register should include information about the names of individual lobbyists and lobbying firms and the names of their clients. “In addition, we propose that the register should include whether a lobbyist was previously a Government Minister or a Senior Civil Servant. The Government does not propose that any information on meetings should be included in a register.”

However, only third-party lobbying firms will have to declare their clients and record former ministers and government officials they have on their books. Firms employing in-house lobbyists needn’t register at all.

The register should also offer the same transparency as provided for Ministers, special advisers and senior officials. The recent Fox-Werrity outrage showed how unreliable that is. It took determined digging by a retired former ambassador to shine light into the dark and sinister corners of that affair.

Tamasin Cave from the Alliance for Lobbying Transparency, an organisation representing a number of charities, unions and campaign groups, said the proposals “are fundamentally flawed and have the lobbyists’ fingerprints all over them. We need a statutory register to require lobbyists to reveal who is lobbying whom, what they are seeking to influence and how much money they are spending.”

The Independent has already blasted the government for attempting a ‘”whitewash” while campaigners say the move does nothing to clean up the lobby industry’s reputation for forging unhealthy relationships between senior politicians and leading lobbying firms.

Will ministers be required to declare why they are meeting lobbyists or which firms or groups they are representing? Apparently not, says The Independent.

Now’s your chance!

What about those who lobby on behalf of a lawless foreign power? It is vitally important to halt lobby groups like Friends of Israel  (ChristianConservativeDemocratsLabour) in their tracks. Consultation closes on 13 April, so now’s your chance. Members of the public can make their views known to: Statutory Register of Lobbyists, Cabinet Office, Fourth Floor, 1 Horseguards Road, London SW1A 2HQ. Alternatively, email registerlobbyists@cabinet-office.gsi.gov.uk marking your response with ‘Statutory Register of Lobbyists’ in the subject field of your email.

Make sure you let the government know that you know what a rotten, treacherous game they are playing. The three main political parties in the UK each have a ‘Friends of Israel’ group to ensure pro-Israel members are embedded at all levels in the British political establishment and at the very heart of government, no matter who is in power.

Campaigners argue that these placemen inhibit the government when it comes to taking a principled stand on foreign affairs issues and especially on matters relating to Israel’s criminal acts.

Or the unjustified ganging up against Iran.

                  Gould and Werritty connection

The aim of Friends of Israel is to promote the interests of Israel within the British Parliament. The Israeli regime is racist in its treatment of the Arab population and criminal in its territorial ambitions. The manifestos of Israel’s political parties are horrific. MPs who align themselves with Israel and endorse its practices are contradicting our own anti-racist laws and international and human rights laws.

Should MPs and ministers be acting on behalf of a foreign military power at the expense of our own interests and security? Of course not. They are expressly forbidden to let outside influence cloud their judgment. To do so would breach the second of the Seven Principles of Public Life, namely Integrity – “Holders of public office should not place themselves under any financial or other obligation to outside individuals or organizations that might seek to influence them in the performance of their official duties.”

Yet Friends of Israel lobby groups go to great lengths to influence those in power. Some say that FoI membership is a necessary passport to high office.

But the man in the street is entitled to look at the Seven Principles of Public Life and say that the activities of lobbies like Friends of Israel are against the intentions, both in word and spirit, of those Principles. Disgraced defence secretary Dr Liam Fox was quoted on the Conservative Friends of Israel website as saying: “…We must remember that in the battle for the values that we stand for, for democracy against theocracy, for democratic liberal values against repression – Israel’s enemies are our enemies and this is a battle in which we all stand together or we will all fall divided.” This was when his party was in opposition. Fox presumably spoke for all Friends of Israel in his party (that’s 80 percent of Conservative MPs according to some claims) who were hoping to form the next government. He would have Parliament and the country believe that Israel’s enemy,Iran, must become Britain’s enemy – the sort of dangerous nonsense that could lead our nation to disaster and once again cause hundreds of thousands of innocent people to be shredded and incinerated… Don’t his sort ever learn?

And seldom do FoI members declare an interest when speaking or writing about the Middle East. That is unacceptable in the ‘Mother of Parliaments’.

In the United States there are growing calls for the Israel lobby AIPAC, which is so super-powerful that it calls the shots in Congress and has presidential candidates grovelling to Israel’s agenda, to be classified as an agent of a foreign power and treated accordingly.

The British government ordered a warship to join the US flotilla steaming through the Strait of Hormuz “to underline the unwavering international commitment to maintaining rights of passage under international law”. It’s a response to Iran’s threat to close that seaway if the West imposes an oil embargo.

Royal Navy ships have been patrolling there continuously since the 1980s, but brave Britain hasn’t lifted a finger to keep the sea lanes to Gaza open in response to Israel’s endless illegal blockade and brutal assaults on Gaza’s fishermen and peaceful humanitarian vessels trying to reach the besieged population with aid.

And yesterday the EU announced an embargo on Iranian oil exports, which Britain had been pressing for. It is horribly reminiscent of the bully-boy tactics of the early 1950s, when Britain and America engineered a similar embargo and brought Iran to its knees in order to overthrow the democratic government of Dr Mossadeq and reinstate the hated Shah and his secret police. Why? Because Iran wanted to control its own oil and Britain and the US didn’t like that.

This latest move amounts to another direct attack on Iran’s economic lifeline and smacks of collective punishment and economic terrorism. It will cause hardship to ordinary citizens and further hostility throughout the Islamic world. Nothing pleases Israel more, but why are we so eager to dance to Israel’s tune and damage ourselves in the eyes of world opinion?

Hague said: “Today’s sanctions show how serious EU member states are about preventing nuclear proliferation…” But he and the EU are not in the least serious about nuke-bristling Israel’s refusal to sign up to, or even discuss, non-proliferation. No sanctions there.

Meanwhile hard-pressed British and European motorists are likely to pay a heavy price for this tomfoolery when oil prices rocket. And we are still waiting for proof that Iran has actually done something wrong, are we not? Where does Hague think he’s leading us?

Notice too how the British government’s broadcast regulator has chosen this moment to silence PressTV, Iran’s English-language broadcaster in the UK, by revoking its license and thus suppressing the other side of the story. PressTV was an inconvenient voice that ruffled too many fine feathers among Britain’s bloodthirsty elite. Truth and free speech, as usual, are the first casualties in softening up the public for war.

Israel orders jail without charge for PLC speaker

From Ma’an News Agency

RAMALLAH (Ma’an)— An Israeli military court on Tuesday ordered the detention of Palestinian parliamentary speaker Aziz Dweik for six months without charge.

Dweik, who was seized by Israeli forces at a Ramallah checkpoint on Thursday, heads the Palestinian Legislative Council. His lawyer Fadi Qawasmi said Ofer military court gave the administrative detention order early Tuesday, after a Sunday hearing was postponed.

The PLC speaker’s office denounced the order as an “abusive decision without any charge or legal justification,” accusing Israel of trying to stop a parliamentary session scheduled for next month.

“It is an Israeli attempt to thwart Palestinian reconciliation,” the statement said.

The Palestinian parliament has been inactive since Hamas ousted Fatah from the Gaza Strip in 2007, a year after Hamas won parliamentary elections. The parties signed a reconciliation agreement in May 2011 but it has yet to be implemented.

Since Dweik’s detention, three other MPs and a former minister, all members of the Hamas-affiliated Change and Reform Bloc, have been seized by Israeli forces.

On Tuesday morning, soldiers seized Abul Jabbar Fuqaha from his Ramallah home, days after entering the premises of the International Red Cross in East Jerusalem to detain MP Mohammad Tawtah and former Jerusalem affairs’ minister Khalid Abu Arafa, and storming the Bethelehm home of MP Khaled Tafesh.

The PLC speaker’s office urged the international community to “break its silence and stop compliance to the Israeli occupation which undermines all international conventions.”

Tawtah and Abu Arafa had been sheltering in the Red Cross compound for 18 months after Israel revoked their residency permits. The ICRC has said it told Israeli authorities that international humanitarian law prohibited the forcible transfer of Palestinian residents from their homes, for whatever reason, while warning the officials the compound had no special status and could not prevent police entry.

PLO official Saeb Erekat, who is holding exploratory talks with Israeli envoys in Jordan, said on Monday the detention of the politicians “exposes the farcical nature of (Israel’s) peace rhetoric.” He urged the international Quartet, which is brokering the talks, to intervene.

There are now 27 members of the Palestinian Legislative Council detained in Israeli jails, according to prisoners rights group Addameer.

Israel holds 307 Palestinians in administrative detention, including 19 PLC members, for renewable terms of six months that do not require a trial or charges, according to the groups’ latest figures.

Iran ‘definitely’ closing Strait of Hormuz over EU oil embargo

From End the Lie

Tensions in the Gulf could reach a breaking point as a senior Iranian official said Iran would “definitely” close the Strait of Hormuz if an EU oil embargo disrupted the export of crude oil, the semi-official Fars news agency reports.

The announcement came in response to a decision by the European Union on Monday to impose an oil embargo on Iran over the country’s alleged nuclear weapons program.

“The pressure of sanctions is designed to try and make sure that Iran takes seriously our request to come to the table,” EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton said.

However, with Washington’s decision to deploy a second carrier strike group in the Gulf, the EU’s attempt to pressure Iran economically could greatly increase the likelihood of all-out war in the region.

The Strait of Hormuz is the vital link between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman.

It is also one of the most strategic chokepoints in the world when it comes to oil transit.

With world oil output estimated at some 88 million barrels per day in 2011, the US Energy Information Administration estimated that some 17 million of those barrels passed through the Strait.

If economic sanctions sufficiently pressure Iran to retaliate by closing down the Strait, nearly 20 per cent of worldwide oil trade would be impacted, resulting in a massive spike in global energy costs.

With over half a million regular forces and an additional 120,000 personnel in the country’s elite Revolutionary Guard,  analysts believe the consequences of a US-led war against Iran would dwarf recent Western-backed military incursions the Middle East.

Thus far, the US decision to maintain two carrier strike groups in the region has been described as “a routine activity” by Iran.

But the vast US military buildup in the region, which was bolstered when the Pentagon dispatched an additional 15,000 troops to the neighboring nation of Kuwait, was only the latest step in an obvious attempt by Washington to strengthen its military capabilities in the region.

However since 1988, when the United States managed to destroy some 25 per cent of Iran’s larger naval capability during Operation Praying Mantis, Iran has spent the last two decades preparing its Revolutionary Guard naval forces to exploit the vulnerabilities of the United States’ larger conventional forces.

According to Revolutionary Guard commander Brigadier General Jafaari, “The enemy is far more advanced technologically than we are, we have been using what is called asymmetric warfare methods… our forces are now well prepared for it,” he said, as cited by Global Bearings.

Ultimately,  the latest round of brinkmanship between Iran and the West may force Iran to the negotiating table over its uranium enrichment program.

However, the EU strategy of averting “chaos in the Middle East” by tightening the economic noose around Iran could spark the very conflagration it was ostensibly trying to avert.

Senator accuses government of hacking his phone

From The Sydney Morning Herald

Alleged eavesdropping coincided with hacker visit.

WA Senator Scott Ludlam fears the federal government hacked his mobile phone while he was escorting a former WikiLeaks associate visiting Australia.

Mr Ludlam became suspicious when his iPhone played up while he was with internet activist Jacob Appelbaum in Victoria last Friday.

Mr Appelbaum, a known hacker who represented WikiLeaks at the Hackers on Planet Earth conference in 2010, suggested the phone had been intercepted and the transmitter switched on remotely to record Mr Ludlam’s conversations.

“It was a reasonable [suspicion] because Jacob knows what he’s on about [in regards to hacking],” Mr Ludlam said.

“The day I was escorting Jacob into Melbourne the battery was draining unusually fast, about three times as fast as normal.

“When your phone battery is dead by 10am, something strange has happened.”

Mr Ludlam said he was giving “serious thought” to taking further action to confirm whether his phone was hacked, and by who.

He suspected the government wanted to track his whereabouts and record his conversations with Mr Appelbaum, who is a key member of the Tor Project, which has created software to allow internet anonymity.

Users of the software can access websites and post and transmit information with little to no chance of being traced.

The American is said to be under regular surveillance by the US Government and has been detained at US airports on numerous occasions, with his laptop and mobile phones confiscated.

He was in Australia to attend the War on the Internet conference in Melbourne.

Mr Ludlam used his experience to highlight that more than 250,000 requests to intercept telecommunications devices were made in 2010-11 by Australian authorities including state and federal police, but excluding intelligence organisations such as ASIO.

“That’s vastly larger than I realised,” Mr Ludlam said.

“Whether or not mine has been tapped, I think it’s interesting to reflect on the huge number of data access [grants made].

“It’s not just your conversations. It’s for grabbing your location data, where you were, what websites you visited [and] who you rang.”

ASIO cannot comment on specific individuals. However, a spokesperson emphasised that ASIO’s collection of intelligence via telecommunications interception required a warrant.

“ASIO must seek agreement from the Attorney-General and satisfy strict tests set out in relevant legislation before a warrant will be issued,” the spokesperson said.

A spokesperson for Acting Attorney General Jason Clare said the Government had a long-standing policy not to comment on any claims made in the media relating to individual intelligence matters.
